A large number of Canadians probably don’t want to hear this, but Jordan Peterson has an important message for Canadians. Think of it as a necessary intervention for those who are drunk on their own delusional smugness.
3 .. 2 .. 1 … look for Peterson to be called a traitor, Trump sycophant, etc. by the usual suspects.
Can’t wait to watch. I was just called a traitor for questioning the need for the CBC or, more specifically, why those who want it should pay for it.
Yes Thomas, the CBC must go. Perhaps more importantly cut off all equalization payments to Quebec.
A few of Peterson’s points:
Alberta/Saskatchewan = Eastern Canada’s piggybank.
Solar in Canada is nuts, given the panels are snow-covered a fair amount of the year.
Carney = WEF, if Canada chooses to be governed by the WEF and not govern itself.
They are nutser than that, Canada is cold, so our peak energy demands are in winter when the sun is so low in the southern sky, there is next to no power to be had even on clear days. In summer when demand is low, they produce a little better, so our reliable sources sit making and bleeding steam, waiting for a cloudy day.
One path
Bite the bullet and do what’s necessary to remain independent
Other path (the one we are on)
Keep with the Lilliputian agenda and we default into being the 51st state in all but name.
Trump has broken their toys and told the neighbours to stop their dogs crapping on his lawn. The Mexicans decided good fences make good neighbours. The Laurentian Elites are sniffing that our dogs rarely get out and leave a deposit on his lawn so why is he upset about cleaning up after us?
A tactic that may have worked until that time they got upset over trucks parked around Parliament Hill.
More like “ How dare you not let my dog crap on your lawn!”
I have had more than one a$$hole/b*tch get vindictive when asked not to do so. Canada is akin to those irresponsible dog owners.
Sold. Where do I sign.
I wish he would address the fact that Canada, and everything within it, are the private holdings of the Crown and that ALL its political executives north of Mayor are appointed and never ever appear on a ballot vying for the position they hold.
Canadian delusion and willful ignorance of basic civics is rampant.
Canada’s civic ignorance is on purpose. The less that people understand about how their governments work, the easier it is to promise more than they can deliver, assume more power and to get the population to blame the wrong people when everything goes pear-shaped. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m 56 and I never had a civics class in school. My brother is 12 years older than I am and he did. He also had to choose between Latin, German, and Spanish for a second language class where I was just forced to learn French.
There is a simple easy way to get the liberals the NDP, the entire left for that matter, to hand Alberta and Saskatchewan over to the US in a heart beat.
It would remove 44 conservative MP’s from the House of Commons and allow Quebec to decide elections again.
Please put Manitoba in the group with Sask and Alta. I don’t want to move west.
God No. Reserves, Unions, NDP up the wazoo and a massive sinkhole for funds. You may as well ask Zimbabwe to join.,
Heh
As Peterson notes, all the USA has to do is make a better offer than Ottawa.
And he did not even touch on our loss of the illusion of Individual Rights and Freedoms.
Just the protection of a real constitution is major selling point for USA citizenship.
For we all saw how welcome Western Canadians are in our own “Capitol”.
And then there is the matter of firearms, where the Progressive Comrades are terrified of private ownership.
As a side note if second amendment rights had existed in Canada, the murderer of Eecol Polytechnique might have been stopped so easily.
Western Canada can be so cheaply seduced, because of our past and present treatment by the East.
And as for Ottawa making a better offer?
Who would trust them?
Where would they get the resources?
What deterrent/penalties can they come up with?
Statehood is very attractive for so many reasons, a clear economic case can be made.
Remaining as the cashcow of confederation, as a province of Canada?
I cannot make that case.
The current and historical negatives are just too big.
That national debt is a killer.
We could spend extra resources establishing ourselves as an “independent nation” but why bother..
Statehood is faster cheaper and provides the same destination.
Fortress North America.
France seems to be a great dumping ground for economic immigrants..Just saying.
So Peterson nails our current weakness.
And the CBC crowd will indeed go nuts proclaiming their patriotic virtue, over a nation they destroyed.
As my father said of his war service,”In hindsight we were shooting the wrong people”.
Warm fuzzy thought.
If Alberta took up the offer of statehood how long before the “ROC” went into receivership without the funding provided by Alberta through transfers?
And when that moment arrived how receptive would Ottawa be to the sale of a couple of territories in return for a bailout?
Exactly.
Without the cash cow and continuing the suicide by welfare, the remaining bits of Can Ahh Duh will be bankrupt and up for receivership sale in months.
Which Fortress North America can buy up for cents on the dollar.
Months?
Two weeks
Another thought. With Alberta joining the USA, many progressive/liberal types will leave before finalising the transition. Calgary and Edmonton would probably be decimated. The upside would be a majority of Red Staters remaining behind.
Talking about certain Carney, the guy is an agent of the WEF GLOZIS.
In a likely case that this scumbag becomes prime minister of this country, well, we are done.
That cabal of low life is bent on making the industrial countries of Europe and North America equal to the shitholes of the world.
Of course, except themselves, after all they do ‘care’.
Carney better not be too much of a douchebag. He could find himself the target of a US regime change operation to “liberate the people of Canada from oligarchic socialist tyranny”.
Don’t be getting my hopes up.
No one is ever truly independent. Even we who post here rely on hundreds if not thousands of people everyday from everywhere. Did you put gas in your car today, think about the downstream just to get it where you got it. Turn on the lights, you have no idea where that power came from if you live in Ontario. Go to the store for milk bread and eggs, try following that one down stream. The road you drove on, the car you used, I could on and on and on. Will anyone even think just how dependent we all are on “others”.
You don’t like America/USA, do you like China? You must as you buy more stuff from China than damn near everywhere else.
You have voted for people who hate you, want to control you, yet seem unable to understand that.
Why I bother is because it helps me vent.
A while back I watched an “interview” with Smith and Peterson where they were singing the praises of Doug Ford.
Haven’t had time for them since.
Make Canada “Upper” and “Lower” again.
Oh and the part that’s Lower Canada? Rupert’s Land ain’t yours.
JP: “Americans see Canadians as more Left than Democrats”
Americans are facing the logical conclusion of allowing rampant socialism to continue growing within, and on their northern border, and anywhere in their western-hemisphere bulwark against government interference of Individual Liberty. They understand that this threat has grown mortally dangerous and must be faced now or never, come what may, and have loudly proclaimed it in three previous federal elections. So Canadians who wish to be rescued from socialism by becoming the 51st state must put themselves in We The Peoples’ shoes and ask oneself if you would welcome those northern ne’er-do-well, Chinese appeasing, neighbors into your home.
The answer is clearly “Hell no, and they won’t be kissing Chinese ass any longer, or else…”
Canadians are facing the same logical conclusion, but much more imminently, and have only two choices: 1) grow up fast and govern yourselves as adults, 2) or else. The truckers effectively showed how. They are still paying the price, will continue to pay it alone, unless and until many other Canadians are willing to pay the price of effectively standing up against tyranny. It’s a heavy cost, another socialist burdened laid on the shoulders of children whose parents didn’t stand up sooner.
I think it’s terrific that Peterson gives people something to think about, & I posted this to X and Failbook, I don’t expect any “likes” but it’s good when someone mentions him in everyday conversation, even while they don’t like him, or as my kids do, mention how he’s simply advocating for common sense and that’s a foreign concept for most Canadians these days.
I’ve been saying for years now, Alberta needs to take a page out of Quebec’s playbook. ROC seems to think it’s ok for Quebec to call the shots as long as they stay a part of Canada. Quebec is happy with that as long as we keep pouring the money their way. Alberta make some noise, hold a referendum on seperation. Put up the fire wall. Put the fear of losing the cash cow into the dead hearts of eastern Canada. I love this country, don’t want to see it end, but you can only take so much.
All true. But he’s preachin’ to our small choir. It’ll never be heard by the leaders of the uniparty or its voters.
Alberta doesn’t even have to hold a full Alberta separation referendum. Lets hold one in just one riding, say the Premier’s riding. When that referendum goes 60% to 80% to separate maybe the ROC will take notice.
Disclaimer: I live in that riding.
Jordan has moved to the states, I would advise doing likewise if you want a change, as Canadians are slow on the uptake, and do not realize how bad off they are. Wait until they learn they are subjects, and not free. Wait until they learn their “land” is not their property. Wait until they find the government thinks of them as pests to be removed when they encroach too far.
Looked into it in some detail. You need to get an employer to sponsor you for an H1B visa which allow you to apply for a green card after some years.
High-flyers like Peterson or David “Viva” Freiheit probably got in on EB2 visas (“advanced degrees… exceptional abilities…”) which are also employment based.
If you’re old and retired, like me, there is no option.
Correct Kevin.
So, this Peterson guy, who used to live in Canada, and is now living in the ‘states, is jabbering away on stuff we already know.
People tell me I should listen because he is important. He had adversity and stuff.
Yea, well, there is more wisdom coming from the majority of the people commenting here on SDA than I have ever heard from J.P.
He moved to the US because he was being professionally persecuted in Canada. His livelihood was being threatened, although him being financially independent; it wasn’t a viable threat in any case.
WHERE DO I SIGN?? NOW…I’m for 51 State !!!!!!!!
TOAST AS WEST CANADIAN……..I WANT OUT OF THE S SHOW.
WE ARE NOT A NATION, FROGS HAVE SHOWN THAT.
TAKE, OUR INTEREST, LETS GET OUT, ITS ONLY, THEIR DESIRE, SEND YOUR CASH…..SCREW THE NATION.

ULTIMATE, WEST FEEDS EAST, I AM SO DONE. LET US OUT.
