   1. Strictly speaking, neither of those was a “Reichstag fire”. In folklore, the original was staged by the Nazis to give themselves a pretext for going after the Communists. There’s no doubt that the FLQ actually did kidnap those people, and it wasn’t Liberals running the truckers. No staging, no pretext. Of course, in actual history neither the Nazis or the Communists had anything to do with the Reichstag fire, and the Nazis panicked, convinced that the Communists had launched the revolution and push had come to shove. Justin clearly didn’t invoke emergency measures until after he was certain that there was no threat to public order, and much the same seems true of Pierre, though it’s not quite so clear cut.

   I do hope all you fine, oh so patient and tolerant Cananadians finally say ENOUGH! and give some true nationalistic conservative types a go. Just announce a well-known Jewish speaker will be speaking about the Gaza strip and the baseless claims of the Arab Muslims who call themselves “Palestinians” who lay claim to sovereign Israeli territory. Concurrently, announce that a very well-known and outspoken East Indian intellectual will speak about the “disastrous” Khalistani Separatist movement. Then book the same hotel/convention centre on the same day and schedule the events to run concurrently. Viola–one un-staged “Reichstag fire.”

    First thing Poilievre should do is defund the CBC, CTV and Global. How can anyone trust a media that survives on taxpayer handouts?

       1. Social media companies
       2. “Job training” support
       3. Government commercials
       If you notice, it’s these damned propaganda commercials, and the positive ‘news’ stories that are some of the worst abuses of funding, GlowBull and Liberalvision ctv become de facto Liberal ministries of disinformation.
       So, yes, that funding must be terminated, along with the execrable social media legislation/extortion that has resulted in the “Facebook ban” of news sites. Love or hate Facebook, it’s Marxist legislation and must be assigned to the dustbin of history.
       Also, notice that PP hasn’t said “Terminate the CBC”, it’s DEFUND. By a Million? 20 Million? 100 Million? The devil is in the details. It looks like, again, the CPC thinks they can win over the media when they run the country. When will they ever learn?
