  1. And what’s THAT gonna cost the local taxpayers in lawsuits? Yes DEI has a very, very, high cost.

  2. she glocked him up…

Now that she’s been fired, is she still eligible under the doctrine of “qualified immunity” for the civil and criminal suit?

  3. A one of the rcmp rural AB detachments they had a gal from quebekki. She was playing with her weapon in the PC and let one go. They took away her gun for awhile and eventually got rid of her

We had a cop at a local OPP detachment who went to clean his service weapon after doing his scheduled safety qualification at a local range… forgot about the round in the pipe and managed to put a steaming copper jacketed projectile through his hand and then a wall at the station.

As far as I know… no charges… and the guy is still a cop. Try that at home.

Huh. Here I had always called BS when I read stories about guns going off while people were cleaning them. So it’s a *real* thing, then? Damn…

Fred… lemme walk you through it. To clear a Glock 17, you drop the magazine… then rack the slide to eject the round in the chamber. That renders the gun ‘safe.’

Of course, it could have just been sloppy handling before the clearing procedure… a lot of folk don’t have any trigger discipline whatsoever. Cops don’t (unless they’re SWAT trained) have a lot of familiarity with their service weapons. By way of contrast, when I was shooting IPSC competitions, the girlfriend and I burned through 600 rounds a week. And that was shooting from a holster and running barricades and such.

PS… from the story above it seems even the SWAT dudes can get pretty sloppy.

  4. reduce crime while fostering relationships between law enforcement and the public, local media reported.

  5. I’m guessing they will settle for $1/4 million. If it goes to trial it will be a million. The only reason they took the gun away was because he is black. The guy who tells you he has a gun isn’t the problem.

  6. well, she got the swagger right.
in other news more people in crisis were shot by the attending cops when they were called to attend by their loved ones. loved. past tense. the person in crisis is no longer in crisis they have a bullet in their loving heart.

  7. “A charge of incompetence was filed against Cardwell, and she has been fired, police said. ”

Fired for incompetence. What a novel concept! But It sure as hell doesn’t fly on this side of the border.
