    2. Kenji – you’re from California, correct? Did you see this monologue by Bill Mahar where he discusses the root causes of the LA fires. He mentions climate change, but says “what are we going to do, pass a ballot measure to make the Chinese stop burning coal?”. He then goes on to lay the blame squarely where it belongs, California’s overly progressive policies and lack of results for outrageous taxation.

      Gulf of America is more inclusive as the Gulf is in North America. Why should Mexico take precedence over all the US and all the other Central American nations coasting the Gulf?
      In Canada they surely would have renamed it some unpronounceable 100 letter name picked from one of 600 indigenous languages.

It looks like it’s going to be real cold in the Carolinas areas which had their homes wiped out last year and there are still a large number of people who are living in tents, the Biden Admin having brought the minimal amount of gov’t aid to that area, just working on who to give a Presidential pardon to as it winds down.

  9. It hit -35c (-31F) out here at the trap shack last night. Dogs like the wood stove (me too)! Tonight it will be the same then back to glowball warming.

You have my enduring admiration as I sit here and complain about the overnight “frost warning” of 31deg.F … I’m only pissed off because PG&E gas rates force me to keep the furnace turned down to 61deg.F … too DAMN cold!! If I heated my home to a comfortable HUMAN temp. … it would cost me at least $1,500.00/ mo.

      But at least I can feeeeeel good about my green virtue as the 61deg.F thermostat setting earns me a NEST (Google spy) thermostat “Green Leaf”. FKCU them ALL!!

  10. Lived there 10+ years. The Cajuns don’t know about snow at all.
    But they’re better drivers than those in Houston.
