Canada is going down a hybrid road of the UK and Germany. The UK on replacement with a culturally alien diaspora, and Germany on de-industrialization through energy policy. We end up as a third world shithole in the end, with Canadian characteristics.
Canada is worse in many ways.
There are more Brits with some fight in them than there are Canadians.

There are two differences between the two IMHO.
The Turdhole Dominion has Freedomland on its border and Britain is an island that can be completely irradiated with nuclear weapons.
Been watching a lot of British television lately. Noticed the following:
1. way too much smoking. Its as if they’re trying to intentionally promote and renormalize it.
2. Vehicles do not budge until everyone is buckled up and the viewer knows it.
3. Drinking, drinking. Always drinking.
4. Most citizens appear to be emotionally adolescent.
5. There’s an abundance of mixed race and homosexual relationships. Again, like its being intentionally promoted and normalized.
6. Everybody screws around. A lot
7. There’s an awful lot of visible minorities practically showcased. Could be a broadcasting Union thing?
Even if its British “Hollywood” to some degree, it seems a bit over the top.
I admit ignorance of current British culture and appreciate correction of these observations.

cryptic cynic @ 6.47, some salient points, but what you are seeing is the view of the UK that those in the media (and our political class) either believe to be the case or is the view that they want to impose on the the rest of us. They are very London centric and for the most part, treat the rest of the UK as if it doesn’t exist or is

Having visited Canada many times for over 50 years, and having a brother, a sister and their kids living there, I get sad when I read negative opinions from Canadians regarding the people of the UK – Like you guys, we haven’t voted for any of this shit, it is what our elites have imposed on us.
We have refused to punish the “elite” for their arrogance and stupidity, we are the problem.

I have been amazed and stricken by the curtailment of free speech in Great Britain unless you are a minority. A person standing in front of an abortion clinic and possibly silent praying results in jail time? Maybe next time when the nazis come to call, us across the Atlantic just might be busy. The creme of our youth in the 1940s was sacrificed for this drivel. I want to punch someone with a British accent. We in the US and our friends in Canada should be extremely careful about the people we elect.
You will be fighting the Nazis, or whatever the current version of tyranny is called, in your own cities and streets. Be prepared and don’t back down because you will be fighting our own.
Your friends in Canada are mostly subjects who do or take anything to avoid a fight. You are the last, best hope.
Those Canadians who are not total buttercups have to keep a low profile, because the rest of the Canadians (con and lib alike) will rat them out liketty-split, for the crime of, say, not using a baby seat in a car to carry an infant, or, say, having friends over during a plandemic.
Many in the comments here seem to have short memories (I assume conveniently). What country did the Truckers’ Strike occur? You know, the one that halted the Covid nonsense not only here, but throughout the Western world.

Yes,but the Trucker Protest was pivotal in getting the government to back off. I think the government had totally lost perspective. They also inspired groups around the world. One of the most inspiring demonstrations ever in Canada. The government lost credibility, and they have never got it back, despite the handful of Ottawa wimps who never understood what the protest was about.

In Canada, the pendulum has swung beyond our level of tolerance and we are about to back away from the precipice for a while. The UK has just finished punishing their useless conservative squishes and elected the green communists and now no one is happy but the communists (if that’s possible). From relatives and some TV shows, I think the UK are more green theocratically and closer to Germany in their march to energy poverty. The UK is worse with Muslim immigration levels and two tiered “policing”, censorship, etc but we’re catching up. The UK being knowledge, service and manufacturing dependent unlike Canada who are blessed with natural resources can choose to focus on that.

Criminalizing incorrect speech or thoughts, although we are not putting people in prison for re-tweeting, we have a bill that aims to prevent “future crimes” based on previous speech. Politicians of non-native provenance or culture. Promotion of Feminist, DEI and LGBTQ agenda by government departments, such as DND. Over-representation of minorities in TV shows or commercials, many mixed or gay couples, absence of fatherly figure unless to be ridiculed. Destruction of the armed forces through DEI and other means to include erosion of morale. Population replacement through immigration and ignoring illegals immigration. Foreign workers. Two-tier justice system to favour minorities. In Canada, article 15 (2) of the charter makes discrimination legal if in favor of certain groups. Almost total control of the media by the establishment. Almost non-existant conservative party (I mean real conservatism). Villification and elimination of the Christian faith. WEF puppets in government. Non-leftist or socialist parties labeled far-right.
