The education system and universities had as their function over the centuries the task of carrying civilization forward, and until the middle of the last century they were doing that.
But that is also why the anti-civilization bigots and racists that we normally associate with the left, communists, national socialists, etc. attacked them first and subverted them.
A robust teaching of western history would drive the anti-civilizational bigots crazy, islamists would leave or convert, and leftists would simply have to be put in their place sucking on their evil, they did kill tens of millions after all.
I would agree that overturning or replacing the captured leviathan education establishment, no small feat, could better prevent Islamization in a society without Islam, but the west is now demographically destined to become Islamic even if the borders were closed tomorrow and immigration ceased. Western civilization at its finest is still the enemy of practicing Muslims. You either compel domestic Islam to reform (eliminate all the nasty bits from their scriptures) to align them with western values (at the risk of driving them underground), deport them, or ghettoize them somewhere remote with no further political ties to the nation doing so. All of those “solutions” are unbecoming of western liberal societies but anything less seems to me to be wishful thinking. I would love to be wrong on that. I have been following this along with all those who visit SDA for the last 25 years or so and even Mark Steyn is shy on “solutions” (other than hindsight and regret) to the problems that are only too easy to see . Other solutions?

One could argue that anyone who chooses to follow a ‘religion’ that encourages you to lie and kill those who don’t share the same beliefs as you is an inherently evil person. And the actions of Muslim extremists appear to make that point.
IMHO religion is upstream from culture & politics is downstream from culture. The first and last of these are by nature rigidly authoritarian, so culture is trapped by prevaricating tyrants no matter which way they turn. And anyone who lies will also steal.
