  1. Yes, I’m old enough to remember the old Coke jingle, but I never heard the original. I thought Coca-Cola composed an entirely original jingle for that ad… but then, I was barely a teen at the time, and so, quite naive with the ways of the world.
Give Coke some kudos. That was a rather good adaptation of the song. Even now, I keep imagining “It’s the real thing” overlayed over the chorus whenever I hear that song being played.
Thanks for linking the original. I am going to keep both versions.

    1. Actually the Coke ad was first. But so many people wanted to hear the “original” song (I was one of them) that the song was written and recorded afterward.

    1. As I said in the other thread we have just begun to scratch the surface of the insanity that humans are capable of.

    1. Self cleaning oven.
Everyone wants to kill the Tik Tok brigade. At one point even Wagners opened on them.

  2. A note for the Wan and Lonely Chupapollas:

Thank you for pointing out the just how difficult it is to escape, or even work around, the restrictive private gun ownership regime in Canuckistan.

You see, I don’t live in Canada and haven’t done so for more that 30 years so I wasn’t up to date on all the ins and outs of the matter.

Now, go suck a big one.

    Yours sincerely

  3. Election day: Monday, December 16, 2024
    Cloverdale–Langley City (BC)
What will the loss of another seat do to Trudeau?
In the next full election in 10 months 338Canada is projecting a loss of 70% of liberal drones. One at a time is too slow

    1. I truly hope that the Federal Liberal party is reduced to 2 seats as the corrupt Progressive Conservative party was after the disasterous (sp?) interim period of Kim Campbell – I think this was in 1991 or 1992 and Jean Chretien ascended to the throne.

  4. Canada Expands Biometric Screening …
    https://www.westernstandard.news/news/canada-expands-biometric-screening-for-citizenship-applicants/60453?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=2024-12-16&utm_campaign=Western+Standard+s+Daily+Newsletter

If this sounds good consider this. It will not stop there. It will progress gradually.

Who will be next after Citizenship Applicants?
    (1) Bail Applicants
    (2) Traffic Violators
    (3) Banking & Debit/Credit Card Defaulters
    (4) Teachers, Health Care Workers, Public Civil Servants
    (5) Out of Country Travellers
    (6) Children & Teenagers
    (7) Everyone Else

    1. Anyone with a security clearance has already met these requirements.
Public Servants with any kind of clearance, including contractors. Police/fire/EMT. Anyone involved with children services, including volunteers.
Anyone with a Trusted Traveler clearance will have supplied this, plus some other info, to multiple governments.

Every visa I’ve had for work entry to a foreign location had this info as well.

This one doesn’t seem all that harsh.

      1. So you seem to be saying that making everybody pass some kind of security clearance, involving biometrics, is fine???
        Fed bot.

        1. Not a fed bot, just a realist.

Having emigrants/immigrants provide basic biometric data isn’t a bad idea. Fingerprints and photo. Should have been doing it all along.

Should everyone be subject to this in Canada, nope. Never said so. Just listed some of those categories where it is already required.

          1. Yes, it is a bad idea.

Every time you give the gov’t power, it comes at the expense of freedom.
That you think it would stop at immigrants displays a dangerous level of naivety, esp. for a guy who goes by “Grumps.”

          2. In 1985 I returned to Australia on a sport/work visa after spending nine months in 1984 on the same type of visa. I was only back in Canada for 3 months in between.

I had to submit to a criminal background check by the RCMP and be fingerprinted and also needed a chest x-ray and other medical clearance. Probably photos, too, but memory is slightly foggy! This for a 23 year old university grad.

Now we let undesirables walk in with the RCMP acting as concierges…

“The main ingredient found in the Apeel coating is… processed with the use of two solvents… both of which are hazardous chemicals known to seriously damage internal organs in the case of repeated exposure.”

“This coating cannot be washed off.”

    They tell us in movies.

“Word is you’re an excellent choice to be named Additive Designer of the Year.
    – Nah.
    – I’m not kidding.
What’s that new thing you got at Food and Drug?
    Oh, the crunch enhancer?
    Yeah, it’s a non-nutritive cereal varnish.”

    1. Part misinfo.
The “solvent” bit is about a cleaning agent by the same name, not to food coating.
That being said, it was funded by Bill gates, and has ties to the WEF, so its definitely something to avoid.

  7. A question:

What’s with all the whole body deodorant ads lately? Are we to forgo bathing now? Davis pays for his own hot water and soap and will use as much as Davis wants to be clean.

    1. I suspect there is a burgeoning market among the rapidly growing homeless population. Bathing is apparently a heinous and burdensome process for members of Western societies that are eating themselves to death, and then addressing their poor health with costly weight loss drugs. We now have a drug for everything, and the complete menu is offered on television every evening. As to how the homeless gain access to television, well, I can make no sense of that.

    2. There are a lot of nasty chemicals that will soak in right through skin.

Before I was old enough to remember, some doctor convinced my parents that my tonsils and adenoids must be removed. But I still have my paranoids. They have served me well.

They may be trying to turn North Americans into Europeans.

    1. “TurdHole will try a bait and switch scheme. The WEF globalist Mark Carney will be parachuted into Finance. ”

I hope Carney is too smart to fall for Trudeau’s BS. He was last time.

    1. Isn’t this the same idiot that used obviously fake paperwork to “prove” Zelensky bought 2 yachts?
