sooooo basically the ‘green’ in ‘green’house gas refers to the nickname colour of cash.
hmph. well, they sure got that part right!!!
(psst, and parliament is still caught in some fish net or sumptin, again related to 100s millions in ‘green’ cash)
Oh good, grid-scale batteries. Now the province can have some months long fires.
To go with the minutes of storage capacity.
Can’t believe they think Jansen is a company instead of the town. Who does the writing, 20-year-old staffers? No geography and or general research and awareness?
Wow
Lieberals only hire majors in gender studies
“Over $55 million for a 60 megawatt/60-megawatt hours battery storage system and associated technologies to help manage peak demand and integrate renewables.”
10 minutes, give or take?
There are some grid scale batteries in Alberta as well, one up by Rycroft of all places.. Middle of nowhere. Yes, that power is only available for a few minutes at a time, hoping that the back up power will come online soon, is its only real purpose! Yes, a fire would be catastrophic. There is a peaking station north of Calgary that has a battery and 3 turbines to add to the grid, when necessary, a fire there would be no bueno! Thats another thing to mention, if these peaking stations are mostly on standby, what a waste of infrastructure and money to have them just sitting idly by, waiting for an event to occur, which just shows that any renewable power has to be backed up 100%, in case of failure, no wonder “clean” energy costs so much!
