  1. Germans gave their Green Party the balance of power. The stupid f*cks get no sympathy from me. And I say this as someone with half of his family in Germany who reliably vote for leftist parties. As far as I’m concerned only another crazy guy with a little mustache can save them.

    2. Because it FEELS so warm and fuzzy to claim you’re “green” … and CARE for the environment over ewwwwwww … profits. Virtue signaling at its most dangerous. Demonizing fossil fuels means “clean air” and a forever end to cancer. There was no “cancer” until the 20th century … and sharks never get cancer. Only cultures using fossil fuels get cancer.

  2. “They underestimated the electric car”. Actually the truth is the exact opposite. E-sales are shrinking and ICE vehicle owner really have no desire to switch. That is why DJT won Michigan. That is why PP will win Windsor next year. E-cars are niche for where they work ok, are expensive and have poor resale value. Who can afford that crap? Not I.

      Theres an understatement – who in their right mind would even consider buying a used EV…?? NOBODY, particularly should one require a New Battery installed which we have seen can be as much as 60K CAD. Beyond Laughable.

      Junk New – Junk Used.
      For 60K I could buy a reasonably good used 2006/07 LBZ Duramax & literally rebuild the entire thing with full body restoration & near every upgrade available on the market today and have a truck that’s good for Over a Million MILES.

      Show me an EV that has over 200K kms..??
      My current Dmax is sitting at 510,000 kms runs great, can tow 9000 lbs & will still be around for another 500K.

  3. I’ll be more optimistic for Germany if those right wing parties are elected in Feb. 2025, the ones which oppose immigration from people ill equipped to bring value to Germany, and shipping military goods to other countries they have no business supporting like Ukraine.

    Someone should tell the Germans they don’t have sufficient energy supplies as well and solar or wind or whatever isn’t going to be what saves them. Closing a couple of VW/Audi factories isn’t going to make a difference to the country, but the future of those automobile companies should be better taken care of instead of following the siren song of the Greens which isn’t paying the bills.

    There has been some talk that President Trump will have his new representative to NATO read the riot act to European members and though Germany is close to 2% of GDP, they haven’t met that standard since the Cold War was a thing. So like Canada, I suspect they have a surplus of 40 years old equipment to deal with.

    Perhaps someone could show the films about the German economic miracle which occurred in the 3 decades after the WW2, it seems a distant memory.

    1. the German economic miracle was the result of the Marshall plan, and preferential tariffs, which like everything good in the last 70 years has flowed from the US. Like Rome, the US is hollowing from the inside out, and well I hope Trump can save it, it will be a close run thing. Parasitic, lazy countries like Canada will never have the free ride again. Not going to be pretty here, just like it is ugly in Europe.

      1. America like Germany and Canada has allowed too many immigrants, both legal and illegal to enter their country. They are not now nor ever will be Americans and the decline will continue throughout the west until most are in poverty and another world war creates a reset.

    1. It isn’t interesting, it is frightening, publicly saying you support AfD will get you your door kicked in. They are a little further down the road than the jackboots at the FBI.

    2 postings about the economic situation/recession in Germany, the big 3 auto makers
    falling sales and gov’t. tax increases, attempting to offset the loss of sales tax revenue from
    citizens coping with inflation and layoffs.

    Also, Brussels sent out Eurozone advisory for people to stock, at least 72 hours worth of
    supplies, in the event of an emergency. (One due to incompetence or perfidy or to justify
    another round of lockdowns?). Regulations require all automobiles to have: G.P.S., assisted
    A.I. braking(noted for errors so dangerous that most turn it off to prevent accidents. Thirdly,
    to require installing breathalyzer auto start on all vehicles. It appears 15 min. cities are in
    the plans, too. Incompetence breeds lower standards of living. So desperate governments
    opt for desperate measures to avoid political reform and loss of power.

    1. Yes, Merkel basically set in motion the process for Germany’s economic and societal slide, which was then accelerated greatly by the subsequent government.
      The same thing happened and is happenning in the UK with previous governments and now the especially destructive Labour party.
