A fake 3rd party candidate “the America first party” to siphon votes from the republican.
Libertarian candidate boosted by advertising push paid for by dem super pac
    Recount unlikely to change anything.

    1. I just posted a reply that vanished. I said I could not read the item without allowing ads. Tell me censor, why was it dumped????

Did you happen to say “without being f0rced to read ads”? Because that one word will do it.

        1. Any word with “0 R C” will get done. No LOTR fans on SDA…sarc on.

          Once I tried to type “o r c h i e c t o m y” in a comment describing Andrew Scheer. It was similarly cut.

  2. @Robert re Costco – I’m not a Super Fan of Costco, but I do find it useful.

With only the Mrs. and me now, Costco’s giant size or multiple unit packaging is sometime too much for two people So, any money saved is wasted as we can’t get completely through the item without some of it going south and having to throw some of it out. Also, I can buy many items on sale at the local grocery chains for a lower price than Costco.

That said, our membership fee is more than covered by our purchases of eyeglasses and hearing aids. If that’s the only things we ever purchased there (they are not) we would still be way ahead in savings. And the food items we can buy that are long dated and never go to waste are a bonus.

I am a Super Fan of the $1.50 Costco hot dog. They are one of my favorite doggies. And hot dogs anywhere else are running $4 to $8 (yikes!!) and often not as good.

Bottom line – If the only thing you ever bought at Costco was eyeglasses, you would save enough to cover the basic membership and have a nice chunk of change still remaining in your wallet.

    1. For us it is my husband’s contacts. The savings pay for an executive membership.
Our Costco credit card also does not charge a foreign transaction fee which is nice when shopping in Canada. They also seem to give a good exchange rate. Was paying 72 cents for a Canadian dollar last week.

  3. Nostradamus of US elections (Allan Lichtman) explains why he was wrong this time.

    https://metro.co.uk/2024/11/12/nostradamus-us-election-blame-elon-musk-wrong-prediction-trump-21981377/

    Elon Musk.

I can tell you why you were wrong “professor”. You had Kamala Harris down as the incumbent President. You were behaving as an advertisement for the Democratic Party. You skewed your own rating system to help Kamala Harris instead of being impartial. And she lost. And you were wrong.

    1. I’ve heard Lichtman spew his excuses in several interviews. What a pathetic piece of woke, incompetent trash he is.

      1. Plus degrees from Princeton and Harvard. One thing Pete doesn’t have is a liplock on the military-industrial complex. That will piss of the Democrats and the Neocons.

      2. He also got removed from active duty in the Guard because the morons thought his huge Jerusalem Cross tattoo was a white supremacist symbol. As a result he wrote a best seller book telling how dysfunctional the military was.

  4. The Hill wrote some words. I fixed one of the paragraphs for them.

    The Hill reported:
Last month, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) raised concerns in a letter to Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance over their campaign’s failure to enter into presidential transition agreements with the bureaucratic government.
Raskin warned that the delay could have an unfavorable impact on the transfer of power in the upcoming year.

“Breaking the precedent set by every other bureaucratic candidate since 2010, you have rejected these resources and refused to commit to a smooth transition,” Raskin wrote.

“Your actions depart from well-established norms of the federal bureaucratic and demonstrate a spectacular disregard for the successful continuation of the essential institutions of American bureaucratic government,” he added.

  5. If you want a snapshot of what mass immigration is doing to Canada, go to your local Costco. In my town Costco had always been busy but tolerable, and if you went on a weekday morning it was pretty sparse. You might have to park a distance from the door but if you were willing to walk there were plenty of spaces.

It is now effectively impossible to shop at that Costco. Any time during their opening hours there are no empty parking spots and dozens of overflow cars circling the parking lot. Inside it’s literally shoulder to shoulder, and everyone except the employees is South Asian.

  6. Much adue is being made about today’s meeting for the peaceful transfer of power. In 2016 there was what I would call a “mostly peaceful ” transfer ,while plotting to dispose Trump. I am wondering what look might be on Biden’s face when Trump informs him he has an insurance policy this time. I would expect no less from Trump. Also does Obama get coverage too? Just my crazy thoughts.

  7. “A U.S. government employee has been arrested and charged for leaking secret files related to Israel’s preparations to retaliate for Iran’s Oct. 1 missile attacks, according to court documents filed on Wednesday.

The suspect, identified as Asif William Rahman, was indicted last week on two counts of willful retention and transmission of national defense information. FBI agents arrested Rahman in Cambodia on Tuesday.

Rahman, who according to The New York Times “worked abroad” for the CIA, is set to make his first court appearance in Guam later this week.”

A court appearance in Guam. Why Guam?

  8. We had a recent discussion here about bogus lefty lingo and the advisability of conservatives not adopting their bogus linguistic inventions.

Here’s the headline and sub-headline of a piece written by a strong supporter of Trump’s initiative vis-à-vis banning child mutilation. Notice the bolded phrase in the sub-heading, sans quote marks.

Trump Announces Plan to Halt Government-Sponsored Chemical and Surgical Gender Mutilation Procedures For Minors
    – Multiple studies support Trump’s proposed ban on federal funding and support for gender-affirming care.

    1. Link please.

Also, even a strong Trump supporter, actually anybody, can slip up and use sloppy language.

An example: lots of people here and elsewhere use liberal as a label for leftists, extreme or otherwise, when there is nothing liberal about leftism.

      1. Agree about the sloppy language.
If you read my post more carefully you should have been able to infer from it that I’m making exactly your point: the writer agrees with the Trump initiative but is careless — sloppy — in using the bogus “affirmative care” canard. It’s not affirmative of the mentally ill patient’s true gender and it ain’t care. It’s immoral and BIG BIZ.

The article was one of dozens read in my 2 hour coffee and political/culture reading. I did google the headline that I had in my post but unsurprisingly I didn’t see it. If it was important I could review all the sites I visited this morning but I don’t think it’s necessary, do you?

        1. Nope. I know the frustration of tracking down something you read previously but couldn’t remember where.

If Shiny Pony gets reelected next year I am sure he will again increase the CBC’s tax payer funded budget. Perhaps he will even rename the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation with a new modern name like “Vérité”?
