A Sacrifice To Appease The Climate Gods

Blacklock’s- Fire Risk Totals 154,000 Acres

Parks Canada knew more than 150,000 acres of dead pine were left standing in Jasper National Park prior to a devastating July 24 fire, records show.

Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault had blamed the damage on climate change, not Parks Canada forest management.

Parks Canada to date will not disclose how many acres of dead pine were removed after it identified the fire risk.

  1. What does Parks Canada actually do? It doesn’t appear that they do forest management, which should be one of their primary activities.

  2. As a stupid student since 1981… this deadwood in the forest has been obviously obvious. Feel free to search this information.

  3. Parks Canada had an official “non intervention policy” and told that to the mayor of Jasper and other interested parties who begged for them to do something – 8 years ago when the trees began to die. 8 years of trees getting more dry, shedding more branches, becoming more deadly kindling, and they did nothing. I know this from someone who sat in the meetings.

  4. proof gill boat way out of his league.
honest injun lve never l recall said this about a cdn politishun hes got a smirk on him l would love to ram his face so hard theres a cavity matching the protrusion of his nose.

    1. whodat,
I hear you and would abet the face ram.
As a former tree planter, I know what they ignored,
I try not to think about all the squirrels and other animals who died needlessly due to that whack job Guilt Boat and the woke parks peoplekind.
A Pox on their green houses!

    1. Maybe it was 2 Spirit Randy/Randy Indiginous Tree Clearing Service, who had the contract.

    1. Evil environmentalists gloating and enjoying deaths they caused by removing dams, meanwhile these leeches have the headlines they need for their parasite existence on government and our tax dollars. Filthy bastards.

    2. exactly. a dam creates a potential ‘volume’ to contain.
now put in a bunch of them dont even close them. BUT nature gives it all at once the total capacity of half dozen big dams there should be virtually no more flooding.
how about that build the dams but dont close them unless torential rain. then close them one at a time up the moutain side.
      but nooooooooooo enter EU

  5. Yet another example of government agencies spending our money and not doing their jobs.

  6. “Environmentalists” are more than willing to sacrifice your community or your life to score political points, are there people who do not understand this about the ‘eco’ movement?

It should be obvious now to anyone looking at the movement, malaria in Africa is a prime example, ‘environmentalists’ want it to proliferate there in order to control the population, it’s a savage method that won’t work, but that never stopped activists before.

  7. I hope the CPC are all over this and demanding firings or resignations (if not criminal prosecutions for negligence).

This stuff will never end if there are no consequences for any of it.

    1. Agreed. This is not really about Gumboots. Ministers come and go all the time and don’t really matter. This is about Parks Canada and its mandate.
      https://parks.canada.ca/agence-agency/mandat-mandate

It’s supposed to protect the national parks under its administration. But if you look in the mandate link, it’s filled with irrelvant nonsense of First Nations superstition. What the did was fail massively their commitment “to protect”. Years ago I encountered some of these people in assorted consultations and committee meetings. The were the most pompous, self-righteous gang of fools you could imagine.

  8. Environmentalists will sacrifice everyone that they can to appease their false god gaia, aka mother earth.

  9. Watch how the town is redeveloped, and who now controls the real estate.

Remember that this was a town on crown land, and housing development and expansion were controlled very differently from other towns.

  10. Check your premise.
Do the Liberals want fewer forest fires and less destruction?
More fires and more towns burned to the ground give the Liberals justification for more carbon taxes and more global warming fascism.

  11. Funny thing a few weeks ago I drove through the park and past the town of Jasper. From the highway there was just a narrow strip of burned forest leading to Jasper.
