Oil and gas emissions cap and reaction, plus feds want to control radio news now, too

I was on the road all Monday, so I wasn’t able to dig into this as much as I’d like. Hopefully I’ll be able to do more in the coming days.

Guilbeault’s oil and gas emissions cap press release, verbatim

Reaction to Guilbeault’s emissions cap on oil and gas industry, Part 1

Reaction to Guilbeault’s emissions cap on oil and gas industry, Part 2

Canadian Press

Oil, gas companies told to cut emissions by one-third under planned cap

Oh, and here’s a bonus: the federal government wants to now subsidize radio news as well. Why do I hear the Emperor from the Return of the Jedi cackling in my head?

Federal government’s control of media to grow, now seeking to subsidize radio news

    1. It’s not controlled. They are fellow travelers. It’s just that they are going broke pimping left wokism and anti conservatism.

  1. From Saskatchewan’s Minister of Energy and Resources:

“In the coming days and weeks, we will be meeting again with producers to discuss their response and how we can make strides to reduce emissions.”

Do they really wonder why guiboo is on their backs after statements like this? I think cringe and grovel is built into these guys’ DNA.

  2. Time to end not only the Liberal and NDP rein of terror on Canadians, but we need a new form of government. This shit is never going to end. Control, control, control, tax, tax, tax, censor, censor, censor. Would you fight for this country like my Grandfather did? Didn’t see his daughter (my Mom) till she was 7 yrs old. Mom born in 1939 just before he left. I would not. This country has no redeeming qualities left. Zero fellowship now in our society. We’ve gone from a High Trust society, to a low trust one in less than 10 yrs.

    1. Yes ,but the enemy is closer, not in Berlin,Moscow..Ottawa needs a Collective PHUK OFF!

  3. well, pfffft, just gubbamint being gubbamint.
endless laws endless legislation endless regulation meddle meddle meddle, pure LIBERALISM and HELLo bonjour CanaDUH, with your voting track record, looks like you WANT that ponderous yoke around your neck; YOU PUT IT THERE

    1. Parlez vous you are bang on. Our fellow Canadians who vote for their own tyranny and bitch about mean tweets drive me nuts. I’m done with it. I don’t give a crap who brings up this Leftist bullshit I challenge them openly and if they don’t like it too damn bad..They are all weak. Weak is not good. But the weak have power disproportionately so this why we have chaos in our society.

    1. That’s why I noted the other day, don’t be surprised if Trudeau finds the money to bail them out. He doesn’t care how far in debt we go.

  4. News is important. Local news is increasing ly imperiled. I try to find many sides of issues and hopefully reach a some reasonable conclusion.

BBC, DW, JP, Al Jezzera, NPR, NP etc are some I hit daily. I know the news is spun and I’m getting a lot of opinion and misinfo. Some of the stuff l read and listen to I pay for.

I don’t want to pay more for government radio. Aren’t we already paying for the cbc?

  5. Seems like #MrButt realizes he’s never going to be in power again, and he’s going for broke. Little #ShinyPony sank his battle ship. Too bad so sad, #MrButt.

I already don’t listen to Canadian media, at all, ever, so controlling the radio isn’t going to get him much from me.

  6. Kate’s choices for POTUS were phrased as between a Marxist or Felon. In Guilbeault, you get both. He’s Quebec’s gift to the despised ROC. Saskatchewan’s response should be even stronger than Alberta’s. How about “Feurte -tois, stronger note to follow”.

  7. So the government of canada decides in it’s finite wisdom, that it wants to decrease the size of the oil and gas industry by 1/3rd, while at the same time giving more money to radio stations that “compete” with the CBC?

Just for reference, the complete mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction sector is smaller than the public administration sector in our GDP

This proves that Government is more efficient than private enterprise.I would write /sarc but, unfortunately, most socialists, AKA believers in government, think this.

  8. The US was concerned a month ago about this strain on the energy relationship…

“Estimates suggest that curtailment could range from 626,000 to as much as 2,000,000 barrels per day—amounts equivalent to 16 – 52% of U.S. imports of Canadian crude oil. Similarly, natural gas producers would need to reduce production by approximately 2.2 billion cubic feet per day, or roughly 76% of imports to the U.S.

    1. Gilbert should be put back in jail. he is dangerous to the health and well being of all Canadians, and some that aren’t.
