Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

This is actually a very good book:
https://www.amazon.ca/One-Good-Turn-Natural-Screwdriver/dp/0006386032
Screws …. nuts …. threads …. , conjures recollections of silly ditties/chants of bygone university carousals:
Of course there was always the old reliable North Atlantic Squadron, and other favorites.
But in reminiscing, and in the spirit of the subject, I kinda like this one-
Outta the west rode Dirty Dick
The only man with a corkscrew (thingy)
He searched and searched an endless hunt
For a woman with a corkscrew (muff)
But when he found, he shot her dead
The (very fine person) had a left hand thread!
I’ll be around all next week ….

Only exception might be in a production line.
@Kate – Glad you found that interesting. I’m not a long timer around here by any means, but I have read enough to gather you do some wrenching from time to time.
Heh… I have a tool chest drawer full of screwdrivers that includes most of the blades shown in that link. So, what does Mrs. H.R. do when she needs to assemble or disassemble something? She heads straight for the silverware drawer and grabs a table knife to use as a screwdriver. Wednesday was our 48th anniversary and I have yet to break her of that habit.
Quite a few of our table knives have this odd little twist at the end of the blade. Funny that.
Six Robertson bits? News to me.
I did know about all the ‘almost Philips’ bits, though I thought they were all European. Some of the others were interesting, although they left out Torx and clutch head screws.
Yup, I’m doubtful as well. Bit colours:
#0-Yellow (the smallest that I’m aware of)
#1-Green
#2-Red
#3-Black (is there a larger one than this?)
There are Square Head drivers, but they’re not Robertson, ie not tapered in particular…
