DRINK EVERY TIME:

Harris uses the words felon, extreme, threat to democracy, or for the people.

Trump uses the words communist, socialist, radical or Marxist. Double-shot for tampon.

Harris talks about her experience dealing with predators, scammers, cheaters, perpetrators, or special interests.

Trump invokes the Kamala crime wave or defund the police, or says something like They destroyed San Francisco or You can’t buy a loaf of bread without getting shot. Any story of this sort qualifies (“These Haitians, it’s unbelievable. Who would eat a cat?”). Non-negotiable double-shot for literally third world conditions.

Harris says Let me be clear, I’m talking, or “Not going back.” Take a SMALL SIP ONLY whenever she mentions the middle class. Take a full drink when Donald Trump only cares about himself.

Trump says illegal, sanctuary, Border Czar. Double shot when Harris protests she wasn’t.

Harris cackles. Trump does “stank face” or “pinchy hands.”

Harris mentions the opportunity economy, price gouging or bringing down costs. Double for groceries. If both candidates mention groceries, take an aspirin.

“CHECK, PLEASE!” Drink if Harris runs out of things to say and has to be reminded she still has time left. (Drinking game trivia: this rule was originally written for Joe Biden years ago.)

“BILLIONS AND BILLIONS!” Drink when Trump rattles off a statistic that’s off by a factor of 10x. Double if he tells us how many people were just shot in Chicago and how it was worse than Afghanistan. (He may substitute Philadelphia tonight).

From Harris: sales tax, bipartisan, reproductive freedom, different vision. Drink for any mathematically perfect tautology/redundancy (e.g. deadlines of time). More than three seconds of stoned-looking hesitation is a drink. Strike your companion if you hear joy.

From Trump: so crazy, beautiful, fake, beating the hell, never been anything like it. Drink when he says any national problem was completely eliminated when he was president and complains the media lies its face off about it. You may also drink for take a bullet or the “pull down that chart” story if you feel under-served.

As the end of the debate nears, the “moderators” are all in debating Trump. Holy moley. Wrap up: my take is “no minds changed” and despite some missed opportunities, he did ok in a 3 on 1.

  1. I have quite a supply of Bushmills left over from my time working in Fort Mac but I wouldn’t say it’ll be enough to cover all these key words with a shot.

    “Let me be clear” always makes me laugh, that’s what Sean Combs said when he denied punching out his girlfriend… for whatever reason, this statement seems to send me into a long list of people who lied after saying this.

  10. I made it about 90 seconds. I just can’t pretend that this matters. The Deep State is either going to steal the election outright, or if somehow they can’t, they’ll just proceed to tie Trump up in so many knots they won’t even have to impeach him again (but they probably will anyway), assuming they don’t just imprison him that is.

    I suppose this is all somewhat useful to keep ripping off the masks if nothing else. The more people wake up, the better our admittedly slim chances are of salvaging something of western civilization.

    2. I listened to about 15 minutes just now, Trump doing poorly, she’s scoring points and he’s not refuting well at all.

    3. Trump started strong … but then took her bait and resorted to too few, repetitive talking points. My theory is that Trump does far too many Rallies and gets into rhetorical ruts. He starts running his tapes. He didn’t help his chances tonight.

      She was well-prepared by her Hollywood handlers. But all she offered was nice sounding platitudes with NO substance. She’ll deliver an … “opportunity economy”? WTF is THAT? Giving away $50,000 no qualifying small business loans!? Did these people learn NOTHING from the No-no Loan debacle? Making business into welfare giveaways is simply insane.

      They’ll bankrupt the American Treasury … destroy the economy, and then loot every baby Boomers wealth … because they’re never going back. Never looking back. Which means they intend to BURY all the old people. Kameladeeda better be careful … after all she’s 60 years old …

      1. I would tend to agree with you, Kenji. I couldn’t watch the debate live, but I did see the entire thing on replay (which would explain the late hour of this posting.)
        My overall take was that Trump scored bigly with some blows (like the “I’m talking” line), but over all, if this was a 15-round boxing match, I’d say Kamala looked very presidential, and may have won in a split decision, maybe because the referee and judges were wearing the Democrat T-shirts.
        Her performance would appeal to the LIV that wouldn’t be aware that half the stuff she was saying were lies.
        But, and I’m saying this as a Trump supporter, Trump miss several opportunities to deliver the knockout blow. He was baited many times, and he took the bait. He resorted to his own talking points, and he did so repeatedly, as he strayed off topic many times, making him look evasive, when it was Kamala that was in reality doing all the evading.
        Yes the moderators had their pom-poms out and waving their pennants for kamal-toe, and so, yes, it was 3 against 1, where the moderators were constantly fact-checking (rather poorly) Trump, while not pushing back on Kamal-toe’s lies (about Jan 6, Project 2025, abortion ban, Charlottesville, etc), allowing her to skate through the debate unscathed, and yes, she did come out of it unscathed with one exception, and that was Trump’s closing. If Trump scored any victory at all, it was when he asked why didn’t Kamal-toe do the things she is promising to do as President when she was in office for the past 3 and a half years.
        Now the democrats are clinking their champagne glasses and actually wanting a second debate against Trump. If I were them, I would think twice about pressing my luck. On Trump, perhaps he should have done some prep work himself. He may have underestimated Kamal-toe a little too much, and it may cost him the election.

  12. I won’t be watching. As an old Alberta Debate and Speech judge I can’t watch. These things are a spectacle more akin to WWE. No knockout and usually a vile rude performance.

      She said China wasn’t held accountable for COVID or something like that.

      Seems like similar to Russia recently. The left is a friendly diplomatic pushover until it completely breaks down, and then revise history to have been the hardest against the enemy.

  16. The first half hour she didn’t answer the questions put to her, just lots of babble. Since then, her answers seem to have been practiced. Even if abc didn’t give her the questions, undoubtedly the d e e p state did.

  21. I tuned in 15 minutes late, they were obsessing about abortion.
    As the debate went on Harris looked the “reasonable” one, just like Trudeau did with his “sunny ways” in 2015, and Trump looked the angry old man raging against the world.

    I hate the Democrats, Clinton,Obama, Gore, Biden, Harris, Pelosi and the whole goddamned bunch of commie bastards, but Harris won that debate.
    Harris ended with the good old liberal political standard touchy-feely optimism thing,Trump raged on and looked old,tired,and angry.
    Get used to President Kamala (GAG!) Harris. President Xi, take Taiwan on November 6th, it’s all yours.

        Sure he came off angry. But wouldn’t you be, especially after what he’s been through. Besides, the American people are just as angry.

        1. As I said earlier, Trump missed his opportunities, and instead, took the bait. Even though he landed some really good blows, I was still disappointed over his performance overall, but I’m not throwing in the towel yet (to continue the Boxing analogy).
          Trump did not do himself any favors, and Kamala did look rather impressive — even presidential, but I’m going to wait for the fallout to settle before assessing any impact this would have on the election.
          Kamala, after all, did lie, over and over again, and even though Trump and the moderators failed to fact-check her, there are many talking heads on the right that are ready to step up and lambaste Kamal-toe and ABC “news” for their shameful performance and disservice to the public.

    Trump was chaotic and clearly did not have a battle plan.

    Cameltoe looked better than expected and throughout the “debate” was fully backed by the “moderators”. I would not be surprised if (as it traditionally happens) the questions were leaked to her campaign well ahead of time.

    Anyway all the MSM will be repeating tomorrow is how Trump claimed that Haitians eat pets (when in fact they rarely do, and mostly use them for ritual sacrifice instead).

    It is a marginal loss for Trump and time is running out. Not a dissaster but not a good outcome. He needs to change things fast.

    Vance is still a biggest mistake Trump made.

    1. I think Trump was fine. He was hard hitting and knew his stuff. Unfortunately, people vote based on their feelings rather than logic. Kamala went for trying to be the positive person — let’s turn the page, etc. and a host of nice sounding platitudes. But Trump named many current problems, including inflation,immigration and a looming WW3. If the problems resonate with people, they will go with Trump.

      1. You’re being optimistic. The debate was about making the other candidate unappealing to the 5% of voters in the middle who are squishy and undecided. Nothing else mattered. Trump achieved it against Brandon Alzheimer but failed against Kameltoe.

        1. I think you’re mostly right. I think the Dems are breathing a huge sigh of relief. The moderators asked a few questions that I cared about, but mostly not. No surprise since, I’m not the target audience. So, who was watching besides the political junkies who have already made up their minds and are not likely to change them. Does anyone think the few undecided were watching? Were those the questions they cared about? Or, was Harris really about galvanizing her base? If so, I think she succeeded at that.

      She was especially disgusted by Swift extolling Walz’s support for the mutilation and sterilization of minors over the parents objections, and for severing parental rights if they attempt to intervene. We must not let this go. This travesty must follow Taylor Swift for the duration.

    They were obviously prosecutorial to Trump and sympathetic to Harris.
    3 on 1 isn’t a fair fight but Democrats won’t understand that fighting fair is even an issue that all Republicans plainly see, just like Dems don’t know why a crooked press and censorship and lawfare and weaponizing the State didn’t work they are singularly focused through the lens of get Trump and have a huge blind spot that has disconnected them from at least half the country.

    The ABC moderators cheated the process and that’s a sign that the Blob is going to cheat their ass off again just like the moderators ganged up in such a shameless manner, hopefully the Blob gets caught at the ballot box this time.

    1. They were eating pets and fowl. This points out as to what people the Biden /Harris administration are allowing into the US.
      Besides How could Harris win the debate when she was barely in it. The moderators on the other hand…

      There’s more, but that one fact alone should be enough to know that the game was rigged.

  31. What was Trump’s preperation team doing for this debate. The constant return to abortion and a woman’s right to the integrity of her own body as espoused by Harris should have been an immediate call to the mandated injections that would have blown her out of the water. Her comment about a leader needing to be strong should have called for a repost of how strong a leader has to be to concede 83 billion in arms and equipment to the enemy. Trump missed a few other zingers but he was working under superior numbers having said that the three parties in this debate tonight would have received a D- from my grade twelve English teacher who supervised the debating club back in high school.

    I don’t think the concept of “win or lose” can even apply to the largely entertainment event from last night. If you liked Trump before, you still like him. He reinforced his concerns about the economy, immigration and wars. Everything he said was legitimate (including pet eating which had just emerged as an issue in Springfield.). If you prefer Kamala’s phoney Kumbaya message, you will much prefer her. Trump names problems in the world. Kamala was mostly a couple of vague promises and stale attacks on Trump. Those paying attention will know that some of her attacks were not legitimate, but mods did not call her on them. Bringing up Central Park 5 is pretty desperate politi

    1. A guy in Springfield Ohio complained about the ” newcomers” killing and eating ducks from the park. He claimed to have witnessed this and was reporting to city council. Then pets going missing was brought up.

      Plus there are photos of a guy waking off with a headless duck. That I’ve seen.
      They’re believed to be Haitian. Time will tell the truth of it.

  35. Trump missed the opportunity to get and keep the upper hand on the first question, that was “are you better off today, than you were 4 years ago”. She was nervous and her hands were actually shaking, during her first answer. She completely sidestepped the question. That was Trump’s huge miss step.
    I think, in a calmly manor, he should have pointed out she didn’t answer the question(to embarrass her) and just said, everyone knows we’re worse off today than we were 4 years ago, and calmly explained why.
    Instead, he came out excited, hyped up and instead of sounding calm, in control and Presidential, he missed the chance to keep the pressure on her. When he came out hot, you could see her settle down, and the pressure was off her right away. At that point she knew she was going to be able to get under his skin, at sum point during the debate.
