  1. Quick Dick is the clearest, sanest voice of Canada on the subject. Us in the U.S. should also pay heed.

  2. I think Quick Dick could have touched on the ownership of CN and CPKC and there seems to be some stories being posted on social media of workers scheduled to be off work at 5pm and a next day start of 9am who are then told after 5pm end of day work that they’ll be starting the next day at 2am as the schedule has changed.
It could be just union bullshit, and it is SUPER rare for me to side with a union POV, so when I see that Bill Gates owns 16% of CN and Vanguard – Blackrock own multiple ownership blocks under a variety of names in CN and CPKC it sets off some alarm bells for both sides.

As long as the #Libranos appear to be the greatest losers of this fiasco, I’m good.
Yes, the Liberals seem to be holding the entire country hostage, have you phoned your MP to tell them how much you hate them yet? You’re NEVER too busy to skip doing this…
Essential service? I’d say rail transport qualifies, more so in country where transportation to each coast seems to rule over everything else

    When’s the AB/Sask. separation referendum?

    1. Also seeing stories circulating that many train engineers are effectively on-call 24/7, with a mandatory 2 hour response time, meaning in essence they can plan to do nothing, and they are wretchedly short staffed, so far too many are being subject to these conditions.

I think there’s probably a lot more to this situation than “spoiled rotten union workers holding the country hostage.”

  3. Remember the goal – the collapse of Canada so that it can be remade (reset) in the image of the communist/fascist/nazi WEF. This may be the last straw if it is allowed to continue without intervention.

  4. Essential?
    Non-essential?

Calling ANY industry or work “non-essential” is a de facto HATE crime committed by government bureaucrats

    1. Government is non-essential. Offices are 40% empty, “working from home”, “summer recess”, PM off work more than on, the Senate, Parliament, et al
      Asleep at the wheel

  5. Well, too bad the US is currently leaderless, because a Canadian rail strike effects both countries. Fertilizers, building materials etc. If there was someone actually running the US, this issue would be addressed through trade pressures and conciliations. Instead, trucking costs are going to skyrocket in accommodation. The supply chain of both countries will stall. And, inflation is off and running once again.

Personally, I think Biden (and his advisors) are perfectly content to sabotage the economy in an act of immature spite as a response to being tossed out of the election with 25th amendment threats. His treatment at the DNC convention won’t help that situation.
