“Democrats need to embrace Hollywood because this is where they need to come to learn how to tell a story.” – Michael Moore.
… when you put a girl in a Mad Max movie, all the gushing reviews cease to matter because we can smell the affirmative action a mile away, and we know that movie reviewers, just like the corporate news media, cannot be trusted.

It’s not that the movie sucked. It’s that nobody watched it. That’s the fun part.
Nobody BOTHERED watching it, because they KNEW it would suck!!!
“…Warner’s promoted the living hell out of it.” Really? First I heard of it was at Cannes.
Will be taking a pass on “Deadpool & Wolverine” as well. Ryan Reynolds’ schtick is wearing thin.
I think that is the case…..overdone.
Watching and listening to Ryan Reynolds is exhausting… he’s just soooooo needy…. can only imagine the torture of working with him.
As for Mad Maxi Pads…. meh!
Ill pass… maybe download it someday to see how Maxi Pad is transitioning in the Wasteland
“Awesome”….well I guess when you haven’t seen too many REAL movies you might think that. The people in 1895 thought the first “movie” was magic. Maybe when you get a bit older you will understand.
Drama is all about identifying with the characters. And all the prog screaming – see above- is never going to change that. I guess it’s hard cheese for the bizarrely sexed.
Plus, with all the video equipment available now, they can easily make their own twisted little fantasies for minimal cost.
This comment doesn’t stink like regime astroturf at all.
I just priced it out… going to a movie and getting a popcorn and drink now costs $34. No thanks. And it doesn’t make me “pouty and cranky.” I don’t think I could honestly enjoy a movie after paying that price. I’m not that old and I remember going to a movie for $10. This is a simple case of the industry pricing themselves out of the marketplace. You wonder why people illegally download these movies? There’s your answer.
While you are just low-rent and don’t seem to understand the difference between “your” and “you’re”.
It was officially OVER for me when we got a black woman 007 and Billie Eilish singing a whiny, depressing, suicidal-sounding, James Bond theme song. Over. Done. Fini.
“It was officially OVER for me when we got a black woman 007 and Billie Eilish singing a whiny, depressing, suicidal-sounding, James Bond theme song. Over. Done. Fini.”
Ah, but notice how cleverly they did that, though? She may have been 007, but James Bond was still the hero and the main character. She won’t be back as 007, either…they will reboot with another male James Bond.
Dude, he was riding bitch on a scooter. If was him I’d want to die too.
Big fan of the Mad Max franchise. Furiosa’s backstory is probably worth a watch. Can’t be any worse than Thunderdome.
“Big fan of the Mad Max franchise.”
Me too, but if they still want to call it Mad Max then they should make it about Mad Max. ‘Furiosa’ should be a completely different thing.
From the second movie on, Max has never been the protagonist. He’s a framing device Miller used to tell stories about life in the post-apocalyptic Wastelands. Not dissimilar to The Fugitive and all the shows that aped that formula.
Miller obviously decided he didn’t need the framing device any more and he’s just going to do a kind of anthology series of movies, but those generally don’t work. Audiences like having a consistent character to dientify with, even if that character is shallow and a plot device.
“Stay home if you want. It’s your right to be miserable and all pouty and cranky.”
LOL – There are a thousand ways to entertain yourself for +/- 2 hours other than giving money to some dipshit woke corporation. No misery, no pouty or cranky involved, simply delight in the tears of these failed wako’s cranking out crap and religiously believing they’re making some sort of a difference.
“Awesome movie. Love all the mad max movies.”
Me too, but this one is NOT a Mad Max movie…it only exploits the name to make people want to see it (and thus make more money).
My favorite comment:
“Next time, maybe a lesbian Dirty Harry! That’s the ticket!”
“All you guys do is whine.
No wonder you keep losing.”
Who is losing? Last time I checked, we (conservative-minded people) were ahead in the polls in both Canada *and* the USA.
Keep crying.
And in Australia
What kind of stupid is going on with this thread?
“What kind of stupid is going on with this thread?”
A new troll has shown up. She is mildly amusing, but will disappear soon enough…
I think I’ll just wait for the book to come out.
I am a bit pouty and cranky. Not sure if it’s the Estrogen tablets or these extra large tampons. But I’ll tell you one thing. Women are avoiding this movie in droves and I stand by them – well behind them. But near them. But not too close.
I was recently in a mechanical henhouse, and I felt kind of poultry and clanky, so I can sympathise.
Space Ice movie reviews.
If it has Jean Claude Van Damme in it it is the best movie ever, anywhere.
And every Stephen Segal flick is the worst movie ever.
There may be some confusion about the actual plot of the movies reviewed.
An example:
“The Jean Claude Van Damme masterpiece movie known as Maximum Risk is literally the greatest thing ever created in human history. Our civilization has peaked, and all we can hope to do now is slow our inevitable decline. But, man, at least we got this awesome Van Damme movie that makes it all SO WORTH IT.”

Bloodsport was his best, Hollywood should have quit movies thereafter.

Any Steven Segal film … before he started weighing tree-seventy… is a wonderful mindless fantasy romp watching a morally righteous, zen-master, martial-artist, who dodges bullets and blocks every karate chop and Shaolin kick box on behalf of the little guy who gets pushed around by evil every day. It’s simply “Dirty Harry” without a 357 mag. … fun … to feel the EVIL in the world gets put right by a Warrior for GOOD.
And we need to idolize synthetic characters like Segal as he acts out our every feeling of frustration.
But there was also … Billy Jack! Now that’s a hero! And indigenous to boot!

It’s not a bad movie (I’ve seen half of a pirate cam rip). But it didn’t excite me the way even Fury Road did, despite being pretty much the same tone, the same style, the same cinematography, etc.
After thinking about it for a while I’ve just come to the conclusion that I’m no longer interested in watching any female-lead action movies, no matter how well written. I just don’t want to see a woman doing that on screen any more, regardless of how well the script explains that she’s capable of it. It’s become as trite and cartoonish as the 80’s Schwarzeggeresque movies where the hero was a bulletproof and invicible smartass.
Wonder Woman 2017 still worked.

I was guessing it would be all full of CGI crap so I wouldn’t see it for that reason.
I could be wrong, but don’t care enough to find out.
Next up, Apocalypse Now 2024:
A coming-of age story about a young lesbian in Copenhagen.
The trash Hollywood puts out nowadays isn’t even worth pirating.
I too have taken a liking to Jap anime.
Lots of violence, gore, sexy female characters, zero sap, excellent writing, etc.
As soon as I saw the first ad and realized that it was Mad Maxine, that was it for me. I like to avoid “woke” movies. My wife’s reaction was the same.
In movies, as in life, guile in women is stronger than muscle on women.

Put a chick in it. Cut her tits off.
The target audience is the 5-10% who are genuinely mentally ill.

Speaking of that, I just saw an interview with “Brittney” Griner, and a video of ‘her’ with ‘her’ shirt off.
I had no idea this person was a tranny…’she’ was always portrayed in the news media as a lesbian.
Do normal people even go ‘out’ to movie theatres anymore? I have no idea. You can stream so much good stuff I can’t understand why anyone would bother.
