The Bloomberg television network revealed overnight into Saturday that in the attack attributed to Israel at the Iranian consulate in Syria [April 1st], the entire command hierarchy responsible for the activities of the Revolutionary Guards in Syria and Lebanon was killed. According to the report, “the senior officers were pivotal for Hezbollah’s activities in the region.”
According to the reports, General Mohammad Reza Zahedi and his deputy, Mohammad Hadi Rahimi, along with other officers who were killed, were certain that the consulate building next to the embassy was “the safest” in Damascus and that Israel would not dare to attack the site.
Congratulations to Israel.

As a reminder Nazi is an English word used to refer to the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or NSDAP. It was founded in 1920 and stopped taking membership dues and mailing out newsletters in 1945. Calling anyone else a Nazi, just because you don’t like them is lazy and stupid.
The Nazis were most definitely and heartily nationalist. They put it in their name. The tyrants who wanted to rule the world and kill off the inferiors were Marxist. The Nazis cheerfully looked after inferiors, as long as they were kin. A good German had to be seriously dead weight before he had to worry about the Nazis disposing of him. (Of course, as Nazis, they found it hard to find inferiors. But now I’m just being snide.)
The SS relied on German volunteers who were not subject to German conscription such as policemen. As such they relied on Volksdeutsche from Eastern Europe who volunteered when ordered to do so and nationalist volunteers from most European ethnicities.

And the Israeli attack on the consulate was a war crime and it resulted in a lot of damage done to Israeli airbases and intelligence buildings in Israel and exposed the iron dome as little more than Linus’s blanket. However there is an interesting report yet to be confirmed that Israel was going to use a high level nuke to take out Iranian electrical grid. It didn’t happen. The “loud explosions” over Iran were very premature. A Russian missile took out the Israeli aircraft carrying the nuke as soon as it left Jordanian airspace.
Yes, I’ve gone from an ardent supporter of Israel on October 8 and all before that, to joining the international condemnation of Israel.
Joe, do you have a source apart from Pepe Escobar? Without that aspect of the attack, the Israeli response was oddly toothless, but it’s a strong claim and militarily a claim of dubious plausibility and I haven’t yet seen strong evidence.
I find it hard to believe that all Israel would do is send in a few spy drones when it had promised a large scale attack. That and the “loud explosions” over Iran that clearly never happened. Yeah there were a few bangs as the spy drones were removed but nothing major. In the words of Marvin the Martian “Where is the Earth shattering Ka-Boom. There was supposed to be a great Earth Shattering Ka-boom!”

Who needs a consulate next door to an ambassy? This was no diplomatic office, it was a military headquarter, therefore a legitimate target.

Go back and read what what happened in 1967 and how Israeli actions then eventually led to peace with Egypt. This was the Israeli message to Iran. “We could destroy your nation if we wanted to. We don’t want to. Leave us alone. We don’t want to have to obliterate you but we will if you don’t stop this garbage. So stop it. Nonetheless, Escobar is doubling down, saying he has two unimpeachable sources from separate Asian nations, not Rus-China, and is working on a third. Simplicius has chimed in saying he doubts it but says there was previous chatter from Israeli and US sources of possible EMP attacks on Iran so not impossible.
