  1. “The prices paid to fishers for their catch is set by a government-appointed panel, which hears submissions from fish harvesters and seafood processors. The panel announced April 1 that fishers would be paid a starting rate of $2.60 per pound this season, which began Saturday. That price was set by a formula proposed by the Association of Seafood Producers

I see, as usual, the government “managing” a market, is screwing someone, for the benefit of someone else…

With a little bit of fascism thrown in for good measure.

      1. Yup.
        Go Jamie.
For my part, I can take out as many quail as needed, under glass or not, I don’t really much care.
Learned that they are invasive in this valley, like other invasive issues, so I don’t sweat the details.
        Bon Appetite!

  2. Yes they are, men and the MSM goes out of it’s way to create new ways for us to not hate them enough daily.

I took my name as an ode to Red Fisher way back when the internet was made of mostly wood and sinew.

  3. L – I see the Newfie police officers are wearing pink ribbons…
The striking fishermen should, at least, be wearing Snow Crab ties. Also, letting loose some “pet” Snow Crabs
on and under the bargaining table might help the fishermen claw back their way to a living wage.

    1. “Harvesters” having issues with their “sea kitten” hauls.

When did we slip into an alternate universe? I missed that

  4. Crab fishermen can’t make a good return on their labor but there is plenty of money around to have cops wearing pink ribbons stand around with plexiglass shields to attack any fisherman who might get angry. Stuff like that makes me despise cops.

    1. ^^^ that exactly VOWG. There are many good cops out there, and far too many would have been at home dressed in jackboots & brown unis in 1930s Germany. They earn all the scorn and derision they get.
