      1. I’ve posted this here before … but my relatives who get their power from SMUD (Sacramento Municipal Utility District) … whose primary source of power is Folsom dam (hydro) pay 14 cents/kWh off peak hours for electricity.

While suckers like me … who live in the massive PG&E District pay an average of about 52 cents/kWh off peak hours for electricity.

We pay almost 4 TIMES the amount SMUD users pay for electricity. Time for CA to dam-up some more wild rivers!

    1. The contrived battle against Climate … AKA THE SUN Is morphing into a slapstick comedy.

      Election NOW please ….

  1. And just like that, the lights go out. Anybody who puts their faith in wind and solar providing the power we need should be put in a padded cell.

  2. Are these stupid things insured and what company? Is this why my insurance is going through the roof?

    1. The very words I was going to post, geoih. And no, it will not create toxic damage but surely will be toxic to energy performance, although probably not financial performance as these things are simply subsidy farms.

  3. Small leaks of carbohydrates cause a major hazmat response and glaring headlines, but leaks ofcadmium telluride – nothing to see here, move along.

    1. I was out tree planting in 1978 and some dip shit wanted to call in the environment cleanup for a guy who had a leak in his radiator and it leaked into the ground sandy soil. Considering I was coming across empty oil barrels still just left behind in the bush.

So many incidents of government interference made me just stand back and stop contributing.
Fines, future false accusations or jail wasn’t a future that I was counting on.

      1. In the company of an asst. Forest Ranger, back in mid-70s, I heard him lament “Nothing will grow here for a thousand years” about a logging landing where used oil, diesel fuel, hydraulic fluid and GKW had been churned into the soil. Thirty years later it was an impenetrable jungle of brush and trees.

    1. Some people have a life that absolutely boring or repetitive.
And then some few have absolutely a multitude of challenges thrust upon them and at no fault of their own that these situations he has to deal with usually immediately.
So many dip shits that haven’t a clue what they are doing and yet are your boss or in a leadership position.
The military wasn’t exactly what I thought it was going to be as well… first coarse through ‘Battle School’, after six months, I was already being stationed in Cypress for my first Peacekeeping mission and two incidents of saving my butt from enemy bullets. My commander in a Combat Leadership coarse position himself as an enemy trying to escape from enemy imprisonment and I blew him up and his driver with a thunder flash… downhill from there.
First day at working in the Prison for institutional services and 8 of my workers are locked down for 10 days due to a murder which I ended up cleaning the mess.
I had to have another employee tell my boss his roof was not correct.
So many other incidents… like I said was just put in my life.

  4. Broken glass is the worst garbage around.

The shattered giant mirrors are just a reflection on the stupidity/hubris of man.

  5. And what about recycling those panels because they can’t be repaired? The truth, please. Tell us that there is only one firm in California that can recycle solar panels and it costs in the order of $200 USD per panel, and most of the panels are never, ever recycled becoming waste in a landfill, just like the windmill blades. How green is that? Truly an Inconvenient Truth that Gores the Green movement.

    1. Did I just read this installation was insured against loss due to hail!? What!? My neighbors here in CA can’t get homeowners insurance … but a giant solar factory in the middle of tornado alley can get insurance!? … that the rest of us subsidize!!!??

  6. That looks like a lot of wasted arable land under those panels. Why not put panels in a desert instead?

    1. Because that harms the Desert Tortoise’s habitat. OTOH … nobody gives a shit about Prairie Dogs (except SDA)

  7. Is a hail storm in Texas a 1 in 50 year event? 1 in 10 years? 10 in 1 year? Because they’re going to happen more often with climate change…

  8. Open question to all readers, Why do we allow these mentally defective incompetents to continue to govern us and steal our money by imposing ridiculous laws, restrictions, guide-lines, etc., etc., etc., on us to enrich themselves with overpaid salaries and gold-plated pensions? Wind and solar farms that will never supply the energy needed, battery plants that are doomed to failure, foreign aid to countries that cannot support themselves, diversity and multi-cultural programs that is destroying our society, the list is endless. A government’s function is to protect and preserve the society that created it, so why do we sit back and allow these morons to destroy all that we have acheived, why?
