  1. Robert … isn’t it amazing how our boy. Steve Winwood has been layin it down for 60+ years!? I’m still in love with the videos of his 1972 concert in Santa Monica … and how he had the services of two members of the Muscle Shoals Swampers; Roger Hawkins on drums and David Hood on bass. I’ve always been a massive fan of Jazz-Rock Fusion and next to Winwood’s fabulous piano … Hawkins lays down a groovin beat … following every direction Winwood takes in perfect time. Hawkins is amazing as he looks like someone’s awkward, square, dad on drums … until he starts playing.

But lest you believe Winwood is ONLY a Jazz/rock piano player … he proves he’s one of the greatest guitar players ever … oops … Kate won’t let me include two links in one post.

      1. Kenj I finger pick that song. Hold the pick in my palm until things get strong. Saves the fingernails.

    1. Nice to know I’m not the only superfan!

I recently saw his daughter, Lilly, playing in a small venue in Northern Florida.

    2. Traffic were awesome! I stupidly thought Dave Mason played all the guitar parts. Then I saw Blind Faith live and Winwood blew my mind.

    1. I often joked with people that the media and climate change narrative were so corrupted they could not even report a stabbing in the north end without somehow relating it to global warming.
“Experts say hotter temperatures lead to hotter tempers. Is Canada’s murder rate about to soar due to climate change.”

    2. The only rape caused by global warming is the rape of my PG&E “green rates” that are 3x that of my fellow Americans. And … of course the Canadian rape of carbon taxes.

    3. X users blasted establishment ‘scientist’ Neil deGrasse Tyson for owning a multi-million condominium in an area that is projected to be underwater in a climate change model.

“In Florida, at 345-feet, Britton Hill is the highest elevation — the lowest highest elevation in United States. This makes Florida supremely susceptible to sea-level rise during Climate Change. An objective truth even if you don’t believe in Climate Change. Just Sayin’,” Tyson wrote on X on Sunday morning.

X users quickly pointed out that Tyson owns a $2.1 million second-floor condo in Manhattan—an area that will be underwater in the scientist’s own climate change model.

Another X user showed the climate change scam: Nantucket, “Where elite Democrats buy oceanfront mansions,” such as the Obamas, who recently dropped nearly $12 million on an oceanfront beach house.

The same people who push global warming also believe…

And by the way, these global warming libtards have been pushing misinformation and disinformation to scare the general public for decades.

    1. I got nuthin, even derision does not seem adequate for the stupid required own a Tesla.

      1. you got it. there is much l admire abt Elon Musk but the source of his wealth via EVs baffles me. l dont hear a lot of good things from the aftermarket.

          1. actually thats very true my limited knowledge, for instance l recollect his contracts with NASA ie govt funded saved his bacon.
and certainly the incentives and govt rebates associated with EVs THAT is govt ie taxpayers money.
            so, quite right.

  2. The Persecution of the Noble Dr Charles Hoffe

Discipline Committee of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia : 9 days before the hearing the college produced a 189-page application, referencing 43 case authorities and over 40 new documents, totaling in excess of 1,000 pages.

His lawyer said he was subsequently informed that the college had applied for judicial notice—a principle allowing judges to recognize certain commonly known information without the need to introduce it with supporting evidence.

The College alleges that the facts they seek judicial notice of are so notoriously known and well accepted that no reasonable person would dispute them.

  3. The shocking numbers behind Canada’s immigration system
Way WAY higher than generally acknowledged

    – 500,000 newcomers each year as permanent residents
    – 660,000 as temporary foreign workers,
    – 900,000 international students
    – 143,870 people illegally entering the country and requesting political asylum.

    That’s — y i k e s — about 2.2 million people per year.

  4. Today in Islam:

The Toronto Star confesses that your typical Muslim “community” in Canada is so overrun with dangerous lunatics that now even imams are forced to tell their congregations to get their sons to psychiatrists BEFORE they try to kill a cop or a Jew, not after. The kuffar won’t turn a blind eye to criminally insane Muslims forever.

  5. I saw Blind Faith in 1969 at Varsity Stadium in Toronto. I thought Steve Winwood was a keyboard player. His guitar playing blew me away.

    1. I’m jealous as hell. But the sad thing, is that my sophomore HS self in 1972 … probably wouldn’t have been overly excited to see Blind Faith or Traffic in concert in Santa Monica. Yeah, my musical tastes have matured greatly over the years … and at least I own one of the greatest Blind Faith pressings ever engineered and pressed by MOFI …

      https://www.discogs.com/release/1691935-Blind-Faith-Blind-Faith

      1. It was even better than that. Taste with Rory Gallagher opened the show then Delaney and Bonnie and Friends who were amazing and then Blind Faith. Rick Grech’s violin solo on Sea of Joy may be the loudest thing I’ve ever heard. Still have hearing loss. Great night!

      1. The only song on the lp written by Ginger Baker … and when he tells you to do what you like … you best get to it!

  6. That little riff between the the lyrics , the filler i dont know but i played it on dads guitar for years. still play it today.

    1. Love that little bass run! It’s a massive part of the song structure. Yeah … that’s about the limits of my playing … picking up fragments of tunes and never playing them through. But then again, I’ve not really played much since the advent of the internet … and tabs … and YouTube tutorials. Maybe when I’m fully retired? There are unlimited resources out there now.

      https://youtu.be/TnRSMviZ8zs?si=Cnyjno3vseOfxutW

      1. Many of those resources suck. I see completely unplayable tabs regularly and have to transpose to different string. Things like 5th and 12 fret on same string instead of 5th and seventh on adjacent strings. Like someone used software to generate tabs based on sheet music and published them.

I also pick up fragments here and there and treat it as a form of meditation to run through them without learning the whole song. Doesn’t help that the songs I like all have some really complicated riffs. I make no claims about playing music, I only make noise, and aim for 80% of it to be not unpleasant.

        1. Some times the ear and knowing the fret board helps. I am fifty fifty with the noise yet my true musician friends say good for you and carry on . I get it, I am a mechanic and have helped them do the car repairs.

        2. When I was learning guitar back in the 60’s you’d be lucky to find music notation that was even close to usable. I remember getting a Rolling Stones songbook with songs in Eb, Db, Bb etc. Arranged for piano, I guess. Useless to me (before I learned to transpose) except for lyrics. There is so much usable info today, it’s amazing. The glass is, at least, half full.

    1. Didn’t Britain once RULE the seas? While the darker islands and continents hadn’t so much as hollowed out logs to float in?

And now the ChiComs just copy it all … and have ZERO manufacturing defects … or that little girl assembling the circuitry will get flogged and starved for two days.

    1. I remember a number of people commenting on the earlier version of this law on Twitter that some radical lawyer who is a Liberal insider had a lot to do with the writing of that proposed law.

What’s the history of this Richard Warman?

      1. “What’s the history of this Richard Warman?”

Allegedly, a history of impersonating Nazis or white supremacists online, then suing in ‘Human Rights’ courts and pocketing the money.

      2. “What’s the history of this Pogue Mahone ?”
That history includes suing numerous members of the former FreeDominion website for various degrees of defamation. And winning.
Monikers were some hindrance, but no bar, to dragging online commenters into meatworld Court for a good procedural and monetary thrashing.

He was instructed by Irwin Cotler (later Hon. Irwin Cotler) who founded a Human Rights Program at McGill U. in 1973.
That concept metastasized into Commissions in every Province plus Federal.
By 1999, various ‘hate speech’ complaints had been heard by appointed tribunals, to establish their validity.

The target hater in BC was Journalist Doug Collins, retired, who had a side gig writing a column in a local advertising newspaper. He was double teamed in two sequential hearings, winning any single ‘hate’ article he wrote, then losing for pattern of ‘hate’ writings published.

The first verdict framed the Tribunal as fair and valid, the second verdict was an execution. Thus did a man who fought Nazis in real life become the prime victim of how human rights hearings would deal with ‘hate’ in Canada.

Did other Journalists sit up and take notice of what they just did to a cranky Octogenarian in a neighbourhood rag ?
        Yes, they did, meekly.

Then came the Y2K pandemic, and Canada was off to the races expunging hate from public discourse unless uttered by public officials.
There’s lots out there for those interested, otherwise leave him alone.

    1. Yes, Nensharia is a pathetic smarmy site, isn’t he? And he’s wrapping himself up in the rainbow flag as his Schtick…..unsurprisingly.
It won’t change the dynamics of AB politics, sure, he can win Redmonton and parts of Calgary, as they are already NDP, but rural AB is a lost cause for the commies.
Still, it will be fun to see this Tard infantilize over and over with his lispy blathering.

    2. Last thing we need is Naheed Nenshit as NDP Leader & potential Premier of Alberta (That goes for Gil McGowan as well)

This Communist Piece of Trash took 2 Trips to Bejing during his REIGN as Calgary’s Mayor. Both times for meetings with the CCP’s # 5 Guy – BEJINGS Mayor.

Now why the F would a Canadian mayor go to China.??? Hmm..?
ON his knee’s beggin for future Election interference perhaps..?

    3. Now if somebody could produce a video of him in a threesome with Seamus O’Regan and Jason Kenney, perhaps that could change the dynamics of his nomination?

    1. “How do they prove ownership of the thought crime?”
They examine your opinion patterns and predict your next move.
(Note: Hate speech in languages other than English are currently exempt, due to different interpretations voiced by opposing interpreters before a blind and baffled Court.)
