There is trouble brewing at Black Rock, the headquarters of CBS, after the firing of Catherine Herridge, an acclaimed investigative reporter. Many of us were shocked after Herridge was included in layoffs this month, but those concerns have increased after CBS officials took the unusual step of seizing her files, computers and records, including information on privileged sources.
The position of CBS has alarmed many, including the union, as an attack on free press principles by one of the nation’s most esteemed press organizations.
I have spoken confidentially with current and former CBS employees who have stated that they could not recall the company ever taking such a step before. One former CBS journalist said that many employees “are confused why [Herridge] was laid off, as one of the correspondents who broke news regularly and did a lot of original reporting.”
That has led to concerns about the source of the pressure. He added that he had never seen a seizure of records from a departing journalist, and that the move had sent a “chilling signal” in the ranks of CBS. […]
The timing of Herridge’s termination immediately raised suspicions in Washington. She was pursuing stories that were unwelcomed by the Biden White House and many Democratic powerhouses, including the Hur report on Joe Biden’s diminished mental capacity, the Biden corruption scandal and the Hunter Biden laptop. She continued to pursue these stories despite reports of pushback from CBS executives, including CBS News President Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews.
And now, for the rest of the story: CBS was unquestionably the CIA’s most valuable broadcasting asset.

I’m not. Frankly I’m surprised she lasted as long as she has. I watched her many a time and said to myself…”Oh honey, your days are numbered”. One of the few real journalists around and they didn’t like it much.
Ms. Herrings started her career at Fox News. While there she survived a cancer episode. Her views are modestly center-right, which raises the question as why the left-wing CBC News hired her to begin with. And CBC is so corrupt, still feeling the after-effects of lying Dan Rather.

The really really SAD part of this story? The relatively few of us who clearly understand the Deep State-media manipulation of the truth … bothers not the CIA, NSA, Homeland in-Security, or anyone else manipulating minds. I’ve already seen this story before. Sharyl Attkisson…also at CBS news and “forced” out when she complained of the bias protecting Obama. I know how it ends. A smear campaign and a blacklist.
Herridge had her computers confiscated to keep her from looking closely and seeing documentation of incursions into her ongoing work while reporting at CBS. At least the powers that be learned that lesson from Attkisson. She was relentless on filing suits against the DOJ to determine who compromised her equipment. Unfortunately, the suits were in the DC cesspool, and got dismissed.

I am NOT surprised by any of this. Anyone associated with the alphabet agencies or news are “sluts and jiggers” and are liars, doomed to occupy the 9th circle of hell (reserved for liars as you can never, ever trust what they say).
“Journalists” get captured or killed in various locations around the world, no need to wonder why…
The longer we see the “fringe” journalists like Rebel, TruNorth, Life Site News etc. who keep poking the .gov narratives in the eyes, the more I realize that what I have read in the olde-school newspapers and MSM broadcasts have not been news, but narratives meant to steer us away from reality and truth.
When reporters, as close to truth-tellers as possible, get mixed up in the meat grinders of the MSM, if they are worth their weight in salt, it doesn’t take them long to realize that to misstep from the script leaves the door open to shadowy, rancid-breathed figures peering over their shoulders.

I hope she kept some sneaky backups in some sneaky places. It won’t help her, now exposed, confidential sources but could be insurance against her suddenly feeling a bit suicidal.

Turley makes a serious error in thinking that there even ARE “esteemed press organizations.” The only people who think much of the media these days are other media types. (And maybe people as old as Joe Biden, who are living decades in the past.)
