  1. Most Canadians I talk to defend the Liberal’s dairy policies. They WANT to pay more for milk and butter. It’s their right and, besides, they firmly believe everything they are told about the evils of Wisconsin dairy farmers who pump poisons into their products.

    1. Canadians are saps for Canadian myths….the myth of our medicare system being “the best in the world”, to our CPP again being touted as “the best in the world”, and of course the Bolshevik supply management system for dairy. Oh…and the one I really get a kick out of is “Canada punches above its weight in international affairs”….what a steaming pile of crap.

So true, Thomas….and yet another example of why the CPC is in fact the new Liberal Lite party. Where is the reputed courage and integrity that Pierre Poilievre is supposed to possess? Same place it was when he voted to accuse all Canadians of genocide?

      1. One must pay homage to Quebec’s sacred cows if they want to become PM. There are certain realities to Canadian election success. Or is that suckcess?

Didn’t Stephen Harper prove otherwise by winning a majority government with only five seats in Quebec? I would call that his legacy. It was the beginning of the end for the Bloc, who nearly disappeared until Justin Trudeau came along and re-energized them.

          1. Exactly, Fred. This is yet another example of Canadians believing what they’re told – in this case conservative Canadians.

Quebec ISN’T necessary for political success, but the myth that it is allows the fake-conservative parties to not do what they promised. They can always point to “placating Quebec” as the excuse to do what the Liberals would have done were they in power.

    1. “All I want is a slab of old cheddar that doesn’t cost ten + bucks..”

Then you’ll need to vote for the only Canadian political party that has vowed to scrap ‘supply management’ in the dairy industry: the People’s Party of Canada.

  2. Don’t you just hate the Canadian dairy industry. You can’t buy decent butter, sour cream cheese … and the crap they sell is overpriced by 50% or more.

It’s all about quebek. It always is. Next time they have a referendum I hope they give us a vote. I’d vote he quebek traitors off the island in a NY minute.

  3. The Dairy lobby is the biggest lobbyist in the deranged dominion. They likely had a hand in the CPC’s driving out Mad Max. They’ve succeeded in making sure no electable party will stand up to them. It’s disappointing that PP is in their pocket as well.

  4. The f’kn dairy board isn’t satisfied with it’s monopoly, crippling high prices and a tax on the poor, with this law they put the entire country at a disadvantage in future trade agreements. No longer can any trade agreement include any negotiations that involve Canadian dairy products UNLESS they improve the position of the dairy board.

Canadian trade missions have tied their hands behind their back when it come to dairy products. The entire country must suffer the consequences to protect quebek dairy. What bullshit!

  5. Of all the cartels in Canada, and there are many, the dairy cartel is one of the most evil. And not only because they massively increase the cost of basic food items to enrich themselves, but because they also boil away the most valuable nutrients from milk based on the anti-scientific quackery of pasteurization.

The dairy cartel, taxi cartels, every form of “supply management”, and all other cartels have no place in a free society.

But then again, Canada has NEVER been a free society. And this is one of the purposes of the scum who rule us ensuring that we don’t have a free media. The greatest danger to them is the people waking up to reality, so they suppress free speech at every opportunity while making it appear that they don’t.
