With the Republican Presidential Candidates competition quickly coming to an end, the next question is who will Trump choose for his Vice Presidential running mate? Here are some possibilities:
- J.D. Vance
- Kari Lake
- Kristi Noem
- Tulsi Gabbard
- Ben Carson
- Nikki Haley
- Ron DeSantis
- Lee Zeldin
- Elise Stefanik
- ???
What are your top 2 guesses of who it will be?
Ivanka Trump…
General Mike Flynn
Nikki Haley
Vivek Ramaswamy
I don’t like it, but he’s gotta pick someone who’s close to center to pick up more independents/undecideds if we’re going to win. Too many people are being put of by some of the more rabid maga followers.
Id say Haley, if she could stomach him
If he could stomach the globalist neocon Haley, he’s lose my support.
Yeah, that’s why we’re going to lose again.
I’ll vote for the best option for the job, even if the best option sucks. I’ve never voted for a candidate that I agree with 100% (or even 70%).
No one likes Haley but a small group of donors, their political hench men such as Frank Lutz, and online bots.
He clearly indicated it won’t be Nikki..WHY do “journalists” keep bringing it up?
Gabbard
or
Carson
Yeah, good choices mate
Kennedy will pick Gabbard.
Lake or Stefanik … because Vivek in not on that list.
I like Stefanik. We live close to her area of NY and have been aware of her career since just about when she started.
I like her, too. She is someone who did not initially support Donald Trump during his first run for office. Here campaign signs in 2016 had no reference whatever to Donald Trump, nor much to the Republican Party (although her distract had, a few years earlier, been a Republican seat). Rather the pleasant signs simply read “Elise”.
Things changed, however, as she saw that Trump’s policies bore fruit and overshadowed the petty, adolescent behaviour during the primaries. As The Resistance became increasingly insane, she began to defend him against the baseless campaigns against him (and against all conservatives).
The Governors and Senators on your list include Ron DeSantis, Kristy Noem, J.D. Vance,
The only drawback I see to Rep. Stefanik is the poor performance of members of the House of Representatives as running mates. Most vice-presidential candidates (from both major parties) have served as Senators or Governors. There have also been a number of v.p. candidates who have had outside experience (cabinet members, ambassadors, etc.) who my have served in the House at one time or another. However, looking back to the beginning of the 20th century (nearly 125 years) the only sitting members of the House of Representatives to be *elected* as Vice-President have been 1) James S. Sherman (R-NY), elected with President William Howard Taft in 1908; and 2) John Nance Garner (D-TX and Speaker of the House), elected with Franklin Roosevelt in 1932. [Rep. Gerald Ford was appointed Vice-President after the resignation of former Governor Spiro Agnew in 1973.]
So, Rep. Stefanik would, like most House members, face an uphill battle and may not bring much of a political organization to Mr Trump in the general election.
The Governors on your list are Ron Desantis (two Floridians as running mates? doubtful); Kristy Noem (some name recognition but not all of it good lately); and Nikki Haley (not a bad choice if they could stomach one another). The one Senator you mention, J.D. Vance, has not yet served even one term in the Senate (questionable). Senator Tim Scott seems to be interested, but I fear that Sen. Scott would bring in about as many African-American votes as Sen. Tommy Tuberville. Trump may be tempted to pick an “outsider” to show his bona fides as a Swamp-Drainer, but a Trump-clone would add nothing to the ticket.
Mike Lindell
Maybe Tim Scott?
This could work.
Garrard or Carson. Both very well spoken and not afraid to call a spade a spade.
Tim Scott cannot be trusted. A Rino at heart. Sundance (Conservative Treehouse) has suggested Ben Carson, and gave what I think are very good reasons.Unfortunately I can’t find that post. I do recall him saying Carson is someone Trump can and does absolutely trust, and who could move into the Presidency and be relied on to continue Trump’s agenda (if Trump were out) or in a subsequent administration. Sundance made a lot of other interesting suggestions for positions in a Trump II admin.
This is a really tough call and will signal whether Trump has learned anything. I am concerned about his age and hope he will select a steadfast someone to carry on MAGA especially economically and on border security. He needs someone with more experience in governance (ie a governor: Noem or DeSantis) or someone who understands how the sausage is made ( a legislator with a lot of experience ( ie Jim Jordon).
Keep in mind that the law fare whores have a goal, which is to warn off and intimidate anyone with experience and leadership talent.
I hope he picks his running mate sooner rather than later.
FYI Noem balances the criticism over Covid. She did not roll over and whizz in the air for Debra Birx and the rest of the sneaky, underhanded Covid cheer leaders.
He doesn’t really NEED a Vice-president as Trump has made his brand…the TRUMP name can drive some mainstream media followers absolutely bat crap crazy.
What he wants and needs trusted people as his last Presidency, he was burned.
His closest family and friends only make sense as to whom he needs to trust.
Everyone else isn’t familiar or family.
Too many people have flip and flopped like dead fishes when the mainstream media and judiciary became involved.
Tim Scott
Vivek Ramaswamy
I was gonna say myself that Vivek is a possibility. Trump probably likes the way he can handle the press, deliver a message, and is never caught off-guard.
RFK.
I’d be Super pleased if it was Rand Paul. I doubt that, but one day I hope he runs.
I like him too.
Me, too, but how about…
Kid Rock
Ted Nugent
The NH Fox polling results demonstrated a 40/60 appetite for Nikki vs DJT with Nikki showing strong with Dem crossovers, moderate support from independents and near zero Trumpers. Two thoughts; this proves that Nikki is a neoliberal, not neocon and possibly a DNC plant (think about her Koch $$), a Dem wolf masking as GOP…. She’s the DNC’s best candidate in the GOP primaries. Second thought is that you don’t need Nikki but you do need a Nikki stunt double to get Nikki’s supporters (Dem crossovers & some independents). Kari, Krysti and Tulsi are the three strongest on the “i” team to sub for Nikki. All strong, clear minded and well spoken, politically savvy ladies with names ending in “I” to keep “the fellas” in line and who are able to capture Nikki’s 40% split of crossovers and “i”ndependants.
The media has been pumping up Haley….and you can bet that if she did beat out Trump, the media would then come down on her like a ton of bricks. It’s really amazing how Trump has been under attack by the media and the Deep State (yes, it exists) for years and still he stands. Haley is a non-starter.
Ask almost any Democrat and, if they could, they would pick Haley as the GOP candidate. Does anyone really need to know anymore about her?
Kanye West
Candice Owens (can’t announce until her birthday – April 29)
Candace can announce anytime, as long as she can prove she will be 35 on January 20, 2025.
If she will not be 35 on 1/20/2025? It doesn’t matter when she turns 35 in 2025. She is Not eligible until next time.
AOC will be eligible this next election. How is that for a scary thought?
Just think, the Dems could run Shiela Jackson Lee and AOC for a dream DIE team.
Christi Noem.
Or as batcracker says, Candace Owens, even better.
Trump should select his VP based on the format of his show “The Apprentice “.
Ramaswamy or Lake
I like Gabbard. Red pilled former Democrat, intelligent, well spoken, not too hard on the eyes. I believe she can add most of what Haley would bring without the negatives.
Picking Haley would be suicidal for Trump. With her as VP, on day 1 the globalists would assassinate him. I like Ben Carson or Tucker Carlson. Tucker is my first choice because of the collective head explosions that would ensue in the MSM.
That is my view of the Haley pick — suicidal. Hopefully we all have learned something from the JFK assasination. I rather like JD Vance as a pick, but doubt it would be him.
Agreed Eric and Linda.
Need someone who is MAGA and not a Johnny come lately type who’d turn with the wind.
I don’t like young effective persons who can still add value where they stand.
I suggest older, statesman like persons such as Ben Carson or Greg Abbott.
Hard no on Noam, DeSantis. Let them run in 2028 on own merits. Let Lake win something first.
Who Trump should pick:
Thomas Massie – the best Republican in Congress and way smarter than Trump so won’t get picked.
Winsome Sears – African American Woman, Lieutenant Governor of Virginia and a huge gun rights advocate.
Who Trump will pick – a RINO type – most likely a woman
Stefanik or Gabbard
Who Trump can’t pick:
DeSantis – because he and Trump are both residents of Florida
I hadn’t thought of Sears, she could be an incredible pick up for the GOP, if possible.
We all know little about her though.
I hope that someone in some kind of media is thinking this and can do a good deep dive into her legislative actions, to screen her in / out.
There is no more ‘ likes gunz, is good for me ‘. calm, deliberate confirmation should be Trumps’ motto.
What is also different this time around?
China Joe Biden has lost his backing from China and is bowing out for supporting with trucks full of made in China ballots. Can’t produce enough fake ballots this time around with mail in voting and machines that flipped massive number of votes to Biden from Trump.
Mainstream media decimated themselves as well…
Bankruptcies are everywhere.
How is it you believe Biden has lost Ch8na’s support. He has been China’s guy. I believe China was instrumental in securing the Biden win by cheating last time.
He won’t lose their support. He’ll just get less back for the groveling he does. That’s the way it always works, and he’ll go as low as it takes.
elise stefanik, ben carson
Vivek Ramaswamy would be great!
I like Vivek, and his being VP would share the workload – OTOH he likely needs a little more political experience, and another, highly visible, position might be more apropos at this time.
No on Vivek. Needs to win something first.
How about a very successful business that made him a billionaire? He is a light speed study. Political experience simply means experience lying to everyone. We don’t need that quality in our leaders. As far as I can tell, Vivek is not a liar .. he doesn’t need to be .. he’s the genuine item … like Trump.
that’s what is so hard to understand.. even though Vivek said he would not be interested in the VP slot, it wouldn’t be the first time a politician changed their mind. His lack of political experience is an asset, not a liability and his vision for the US( and by extension the West) is resonating with conservatives everywhere. It’s all for naught though, if individual states are unwilling to commit to transparent voting procedures.
Could be wrong but Vivek appeared to be playing Trump by proxy in the debates. I mean Corrupt Nikki vs Nikki = corruption? I think he was sent out as a hit man. Which is the most interesting thing about him. He’s a little too loose lipped in spilling things like on Darkhorse where he was clearly a b testing a new definition of Nationalism (vomit DIE wokeish version IMO) and basically said as much, then went on to say that the establishment right is working hard to create a fake counter establishment narrative veneer to fool the rubes for the election. Well Duh we knew that the moment he trotted out the Nouveau Nationalism narrative, but incase you are slow, he then confessed, then confessed again. All that makes him look bought, and too dumb and seduced by being near the inside, to mold the lie while holding his cards tight. He’s not Marco Rubio dumb but there are different flavors of dumb. Anyhow it was a real turn off. Hi, I’m with the establishment, helping to craft the narrative. But I’m a tattle tale because I’m showing you I’m special, I’m on the inside. SHHHHHH. tee hee hee. Thanks for dropping the mask. Pass.
Meanwhile, Fox News just gave an entire segment to that horse’s ass Sununununu.
Kristi Noem or Elise Stefanik
Someone who can decimate the media narrative in a sound bite. Destroy media narrative is key to success and support.
Vivek is best at that.
I Like both Kari Lake and Kristi Noem…
However, My pick would be Tulsi Gabbard: Smart, Well spoken Intelligent Ex Dem… She is to me the only one he should even consider & the most Logical Choice.
I second Tulsi. She would make a great VP.
Plus she’s actually served in the military. She served tours of duty in Iraq and Kuwait. She has served in the National Guard in Hawaii and California with the current rank of Lt. Colonel.
I’d have no problems with Gabbard. She can actually string a coherent sentence together and relies on logic to reach conclusions. Left the Democrat party as she could no longer go along with their extreme left lurch – that shows a willingness for independent thought.
Being easy on the eyes is just a bonus.
I believe Trump will be running against Michael Obama. Given that dynamic, his pick must be a woman who can level serious blows against that person and get away with it. She should be great at standing up to the media while getting her message out to the public (like Reagan). I’d love to see Sears, but I don’t think she’s strong enough. I despise Haley. Gabbard might do well. She’s articulate with a strong backbone. She knows the deep state. But she’s seen as white.
Tucker Carlson or Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Stefanic or zeldin.
If it was my choice, I would go with Vivek.
Though I think the pick that would help his chances the most would be Gabbard. She is liked by many Republicans (my 93 year old, combat wounded Korean War veteran father as an example), a lot of independents, and quite a few Democrats. She’s sort of bulletproof in terms of how the media could come after her, especially with the military background, plus she’s easy on the eyes 😉
Trump values loyalty above all else.
I like Carson, I think he may return again as a Secretary in the new Admin. rather than VP, and Tulsi may get a seat at the table too.
Haley and DeSantis are out, see what they can do on their own in the next few years, both have the loyalty red strike against them, DeSantis is term limited, and he isn’t going to take either of Florida’s Senate seats from the incumbents. Vivek has a much better chance of being in cabinet having far less of a loyalty red strike against him, I’d like to see Kennedy with a role in the Admin. though I don’t know if he’d accept it now, nor how the Kennedy – Trump relationship will devolve during the next 9 months of campaigning.
Kristi Noem said she’ll complete her 4 years term as Governor of SD, and is term limited. She may find her way into national politics after 2026 and she’s unscathed from the Covid fiasco having advocated for freedom all through this affair and her loyalty to Trump is not questioned.
There may be a seat at the big table for Sarah Palin too… or as Ambassador to Canada. I’d actually advocate for Trudeau to remain as PM until this great event could take place just to read about how the national broadcaster, the “mother corporation”, the CBC covers this.
Kari Lake has loyalty and the same spark of being on the right side of history as Trump, but I think she’d do better to have at least one term of gov’t experience with her even while I recommend someone else from journalism without any gov’t experience.
Vice President Tucker Carlson
Having years of experience seems more of a hinderance to getting things done rather than helping getting things done. Take a look at any of the recent upper echelon of Democrats and Republican Party insiders within the legislative branch. They should all be term limited out, if President Donald J. Trump wants to leave an indelible stamp of goodness on the American form of gov’t he could advocate for term limits of 12 years (for example) within the legislative branch via a constitutional amendment solidifying this, and a means of recalling those who’ve strayed from the straight and true promises they make while campaigning too.
And, because nobody is talking about this, I think a flat tax of 10% on all earnings while deleting much of the existing tax code is a good idea. I can’t imagine how much the next Admin will be hated by the media for this one!
Pauly Shore
or
Richard Simmons
Ben Carson and Niiki Haley.
Whoever he gets I hope he’s learned a few things since his last kick at the cat. He either listened to bad advice or he’s a terrible judge of people…I’ll chalk it up to bad advice. Mike Pence may as well have “Deep State” tattooed on his forehead.
Tulsi or Tim
Kristi Noem or Nancy Mace
I commented last night in the primary thread. Lee Zeldin. Bank on it.
Is he going to carry NY? He is better use as a NY congressman.
Ric Grenell – to sort out the swamp intelligence nazis.
Greg Abbott – strong on immigration.
There’s no one on the planet Trump could put on his ticket that would gain more votes. Not even Taylor Swift.
They are all fine except Nikki, it can not be Nikki. My personal choice would be Alice Cooper, decent Christian Republican that guy.
That would be fun.
Well, a VP is a non identity position and DT cannot delegate. So I would say Lake or Gabbard. Placate the woman voters. But then again the Dems are going to win as they did in 2020 by cheating. Standby for a pandemic this summer and more lockdowns and mandates coming and mail in voting.
If Haley respected Trump the slightest bit I would suggest her but she can’t help herself from being a bigger treacherous arsehole than Pence was. Ben Carson – if your picking a token, why not pick a genius while your at it. As opposed to Kamala who while being the token black is embarrassingly stupid.
A real law and order type. Former Cop. Executive experience, border experience. Someone so dim that people would be terrified if they ascended to the presidency. Kamala Harris after the Biden campaign cuts her loose.
You just described FLYNN. Yes, he would be a solid pick, and, a direct threat to the DS, who railroaded him, and others.
Yeah, DJT becomes POTUS, it’s time to scorch the DS and clean out the house. With a flamethrower and no mercy.
1) Stefanik or Tim Scott
I would prefer Gabbard, all the pluses of Haley without the negatives
Kari Lake or Ted Cruz.
Tulsi Gabbard as she is ex-Military , an ex-DEM , pro-freedom and is more of an Indpendent politically … and a woman.
… but it depends who the DEM’s will run.
Kristi Noem or Elise Stefanik
Vivek or Elsie
Carson, Lake, or Flynn.
Flynn would be a fine choice. He is a man of integrity. Not sure how many additional voters he would bring to the ticket, but he would be a solid player once in office. I hope he chooses Flynn.
MTG
Vanity Fair’s take: “Nightmare Fuel”
I like it.
RNrn
sara huckabee sanders
Trump needs Sarah in Arkansas, as governor.
Not the case with Sanders but there is a danger taking people out of the Senate or governorship when their position could go Democrat. Remember Jeff Sessions, the asshole? The useless twit was appointed as Attorney General but refused to backstop Trump in the fake Russia Russia Russia plot. Then his long-term Senate seat went Democrat.
A real, prospect is congressman Byron Donalds out of Florida. The man can speak off the cuff, is solid MAGA, 44yrs old, black as Kunta Kinte(Roots character).
Problem is he’s from Florida and would be better with a couple more yrs under his belt.
I like Vivek, but without enough knowledge of how “government” really works, he would be in the dark, like Trump was in 2016. The plus for having him though, is that he wouldn’t be taken away from a seat or contest that might be helpful to Trump during the term.
My hope would be that Lake could win a senate seat, and be helpful to Trump in that way.(can she beat Sinema ?)
Tulis’s positives, has military knowledge, government experience, would not be giving up a seat to be VP. Is she solid Maga? The “alphabets” have files on her, can she be leveraged to harm Trump or if/when they eliminate Trump? BTW, she wouldn’t be able to bring Hawaii’s electoral votes, but possibly some women across the lower 48.
Palin no!
Rather Noem stay in governor, and not tied to Trump for 2028.(in case he loses) Although SD doesn’t wield much power, for the Presidency or electoral votes.
Trump says he wants a VP that can win in 2028, and keep MAGA going.
Need someone like Leslyn Lewis(incase obama gets slide in at the convention), who might that be? Strong black female, with solid MAGA principals.
Forgot Tim Scott, fully behind Trump. BTW, he is getting married soon.(does that give him a better look, politically?)
There goes the gay vote.
