  1. In a “just society” — sorry Pierre — the perp, if convicted, would get life in prison with no chance of parole, presuming the death sentence was not available.

  2. “…the fire continued to smolder and burn underground within the root structure of the dense vegetation.”

Lachman is just north of Palisades and has a number of building structures. However, brush is rarely removed because it requires permits (if they even approve the process). As a result the buildings in that part of California usually have a break area just surrounding the buildings, but the areas 50 feet beyond these buildings is usually left alone to avoid permit costs, evaluation costs of municipality administrators, and the likelihood of being turned down as most municipalities (especially within that area of California) will not allow the removal of native vegetation. But, they will sure charge you a fee to come out and make that forgone determination.

How do they justify this bureaucracy when a fire such as Palisades occurs? Simple, they publish articles through various liberal rags (and NPR, which was a big go to propaganda tool on the issue) stating that removal of brush INCREASES the likelihood of a brush fire. Does that make sense to anyone? By removing the fuel for fires you are increasing the potential for those fires. By creating fire breaks you are increasing the chance of those sparks finding a path forward.

  3. Why? Why did he start a fire on Jan. 1?

A violent French Rapper made him do it?
He hated the rich people of the Palisades he had to ferry around?
He was just another lonely leftist incel?
He was a pyro for pornos?
He was a global warmist eco-terrorist?

I believe MOTIVE is essential to a full and complete prosecution. If this man is prosecuted without making a case for motive … he’ll get off with a slap on the wrist … as just an unfortunate “accidental” fire.

  4. Liberals destroy everything they touch. The only thing they produce are aggrieved lazy socialists.

  5. Twelve people were killed, according to Cal Fire, and more than 6,800 structures were destroyed. Death penalty seems appropriate.
This “Florida Man” actually lived in the Palisades at the time is reported by several sources. Home-grown freak.

    1. Yeah … “lived in the Palisades”. As an Uber driver. Please define. Couch surfing at a flop house? Living in a tent? I’d like to know what that actually means. Was he a gay Kato Kaelin?

  6. “According to Essayli, investigations into Rinderknecht revealed that he was working as an Uber driver in the neighborhood where the Lachman Fire started. Rinderknecht appeared “agitated” and “angry” during his shift, two passengers told investigators.”

So why are they calling him a Florida resident, when he appears to have been working in the LA area at the time of the fire? was he on vacation or something?

  7. I don’t want to defend this guy because arson is a crime.
But… he is alleged to have lit a fire on Jan. 1. The fire department responded and the fire grew to eight acres before they purportedly extinguished it.
But… they didn’t extinguish it. And it is no secret to firefighters that wildfires can appear to be out while they continue to smolder underground.
High winds were forecast for January 7 that would blow across the burn area towards the Pacific Pallisades. Now… if I were a Fire Chief, I would have dispatched a small crew to the burned area to monitor for any sign of heat and reignition because of the risk that the fire had not been completely extinguished and could be reignited by the high winds.
But what do I know. I’ve never been a gay Fire Chief that had to make DEI a top priority for fire-fighting personnel. I just spent four years fighting forest fires when I was in my twenties.

    1. The Oakland Hills Fire started pretty much the same way … only on the SAME day. Early Sunday an Oakland Fire Crew put out a small grass fire … left the scene … then high winds fanned the flames into an unstoppable inferno.

No matter … the DEI Oakland FD crew got back to the station in time for all the 1pm NFL games.

  8. what a squishy thing. knowing what this smudge did, a desire to brain him with an iron pipe and watch his limbs flail about as the shock of the impact breaking his squishy little rattle rattle head is enticing.
