      1. Yeah, makes sense. Typical ambitious political move. “Step down” usually means, take a year off from the grind, then re-align for the next step up. The Dips reward her for her destructive ways in AB, as Jughead is toxic and has achieved the Peter Principle Perfecta.
Plus, Double Dip pensions are the crowning achievement for useless careerist commies. The federal NDP is littered with them.
        Jughead.
        Jenny Kwan.
        Etc.

    1. More like Halle-f*#king-lujah!!!
Hopefully the door hits her ass on the way out. Another commie-lite socialist bites the dust.

    1. Yuppers there is always someone worse waiting in the wings.

And they’ll be our next premiere.

  1. Good riddance to the harridan notley. She did a lot of damage. Look to the dippers to move left.

        1. Haha, what’s a ‘man’ ?!
I think he’d be perfectly suited for the job. in todays day and age..

To the post about the ANDP moving left, HOW?! If these people were any more to the left, they’d fall off the edge!!

      1. GROSS…………….how can she be “pregnant?” Probably too many JABS……….

    1. What about Gil ‘the shrill’ McCowan? Regardless, someone should shove a microphone in front of their gobs and ask them point blank how a renewable grid would deal with the past weeks cold. Or better yet, how many Albertans they’re prepared to (literally) sacrifice on the altar of eco-Marxism.

The best thing Smith could do is govern with so much practicality and common sense that it drives out a good portion of woke blood suckers.

    1. That fake smile would cause a freight train to jump track and take a dirt road.

      Sheesh———>

      1. For someone who’s been comfortably on the public teat for so long, she sure looks like she’s done some hard livin’.

        1. I’m ordinarily not one to comment on peoples looks, but she looks like she’s about a week away from going to Shady Acres and then the grave. Way older than she is.

      1. That is good to hear. The situation is the same in Ontario, thanks to Mike Harris who got rid of them more than 20 years ago.

  2. I was told she hates my guts. Guilbeault, too. I was going to get that printed on my next batch of business cards, but I guess it’s a little too late for that.

The reason, I suspect, is that when she was premier, she came up with some cockeyed idea of Alberta buying a fleet of trains for crude-by-rail, since they couldn’t get a pipeline built. I wrote a detailed column about how her numbers were out by almost an order of magnitude. I got a call from Notley’s office, asking where I came up with those number. “I can do math,” I replied, then explained my methodology.

    1. Quite right. The sheer inadequacy of rail transport, let alone the enormous cost, is the reason why France went nuclear starting in the early 1970s. The Franco-Belgian coalfield was nearly empty of coal by about 1960, and France was out of any new supply. You cannot move millions of tonnes of coal or oil via rail transport. That’s why, where possible, the generating station is built at the coal mine.

As for math, all socialists failed remedial kindergarten and never learned basic arithmetic.

      1. There are trains miles long, everyday moving coal from AB and MT to Roberts Bank in BC bound for China.

There are trains miles long, everyday moving crude from AB and SK to the Gulf coast refineries.

        1. And the actual amount of energy transported by those trains is rather small. Go do the arithmetic and then we can talk.

          1. The point is that Brian is right to kick the ass of Notley’s office thingey for being unable to do math. For all practcal purposes, trains are comparatively useless for transporting fossil fuels. This is why pipelines or oil or LNG tankers were invented.

        2. And if I am not mistaken there are trains moving the stuff east too, going through Winnipeg, for example. Didn’t one of those trains burn down Megantic? But yes, it does look very uneconomical. On purpose.

        3. Those trains are also moving coal from BC’s Kootenay region to Robert’s Bank. The trains hauling oil to the refineries are doing that because the Trans-Mountain Pipeline extension was held up for years, and it still isn’t ready.

There were those of us that pointed out that coal sent to China makes as much CO2 as if it was burned here, and the facts of atmospheric science reveal that that CO2 doesn’t stay in China. The atmosphere carries it all around the world and brings it here and everywhere else. The yearly CO2 from that coal is more than BC itself emits in a year, from all sources. Hypocrisy, that it, and when “green” Premier Horgan resigned he got a job on the board of a coal company. More hypocrisy.

Pipelines are far safer than trains. Those trains travel through some extremely rugged terrain where rockslides, or even just a few falling rocks, can derail a train and send it into the rivers. Rivers that communities rely on. The oil cars rupture and spill all that black stuff, killing fish and other aquatic wildlife and polluting water sources.

    2. You can buy all the rail cars and locomotives that you want but you need track to put them on. As it is the Canadian rail system is near capacity. One can see that every fall with grain shipments. Not enough available cars and enough tracks to put trains on. Remember for every car of product you ship you have to deadhead a car back. One would need to invest orders of magnitude more to expand rail capacity.

    1. Yup just like he just rewarded long time incompetent Lieberal stooge Carolyn Bennett with a diplomatic post to Denmark.

  3. She reminds me of the applehead dolls my gran would make, but fuglier. Good riddance.

  4. The four grid alerts in three days can be attributed to policies that led to Alberta’s dependence on at least 500 MW of wind generation during peak demand, and failing that, total dependence on their neighbours in SK, BC, and/or MT to prevent rolling blackouts or worse during a time when citizens could freeze to death without electricity.
Whichever governments and lackey bureaucrats were establishing policy are responsible for that, along with unbalanced activists like David Suzuki and unbalanced ‘journalists’ like the CBC is stuffed with. I would blame Rachel Notley’s NDP government. And of course Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government… but Quebec hasn’t had a problem so don’t expect them or Singh and the NDP to care.

  5. Rachel Notley’s only genuine contribution to history is as a reminder that airplanes never fall out of the sky when it would do anybody a damned bit of good.

Those private jets our masters fly around in? Those are properly maintained and flown by professionals. George Soros doesn’t travel in anything flown by a diversity hire, no sir.

    1. I always said it was too bad she wasn’t sitting on Daddy’s knee when the plane went down.

  6. Notley’s resignation means that she knows she cannot win the next Alberta provincial election.

Second, the sheer misery of the CBC and the Red Star is a thing of beauty to be savoured to the very last drop. So now just to wait for the frenzied shrieks of horror as the federal Liberals get wiped out in the next national election. There are few things as wonderful as members of the lamestream media getting publicly bitch-slapped by the actions of the voters.

So consider this just an enjoyable warmup for the upcoming horror show as the Liberals try to find a successor to Justatwit.

    1. I agree the CBC and the Star will miss Notley. Look for the national media cartel to push for an Alberta NFP further to the left, someone who fits the correct identity boxes.

The corporate media want to destroy Alberta’s (and Saskatchewan’s) oil and gas industry. Having the provincial NDP in power would help achieve it.

  7. She list her greatest achievements as getting rid of coal power and kick starting renewables. I’d leave too, makes you a little harder to find…..

  8. It’s hilarious that this fool drank so much copium flavored koolaid from Trudeau that she believed she’d ride back in and win against Danielle Smith. I guess reality finally set in.

  9. There were secret payments to schools, too. And for some strange reason, theUPC will not investigate the reason for the secrecy.

  10. Was it her that had the top floor apartment built into some provincial headquarters for her and her daughter?

  11. In high school, I used to carry my lunch in a brown paper bag.
That’s all the bag was good for.
But I had to fold it up and bring it home for the next day’s lunch.
I used it over and over again until it was this ugly, creased and useless thing.
And then I threw it out.
    The End.

  12. What is best in life?
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

    1. Let me revise that:

To crush your political enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their paid for media.

  13. almost 50 years on the public purse , first with her dad. useless POS, we call her dad Snot from Not. not much changed with her except a hairdo askew, she had a retirement house built in BC 5 plus years ago.

    Threats against Notley
After becoming Premier, Notley started to encounter abuse from Albertans who did not align with her values. As stated by the Edmonton Sun, “The statistics show that from 2003 to 2015, Alberta Sheriffs recorded 55 security incidents involving six premiers. 19 of those came in the last half of 2015, which happened to be Notley’s first months in office. At least three of those incidents required police intervention.”[64]

Most of the threats against Notley proliferated online with photos and posts, encouraging violence against the premier.[65] According to statistics in 2016 from Alberta Justice, Notley is the Alberta premier with the most death threats. She was the subject of 412 harassment communiques, of which 26 were investigated by law enforcement.[66]

Most of these threats had been attributed to the NDP government’s farm safety legislation, Bill 6, which made Worker Compensation Board coverage mandatory on Alberta farms with paid, non-family employees, leading to thousands of protesters.

  15. Genuinely curious what’s going to happen woth the political left in Alberta now. It really was the cult of Rach, they really had nothing beyond that.

    1. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of crazy woke government parasites around, if my interminable visit to the downtown Edmonton passport office last week was any indication.

  16. Like turdo and all other champagne socialists, she possessed a deadly combination of traits: an iron will coupled with monumental stupidity.

  17. Boozehound. I can spot it a mile away. Hope she gets the help she needs.
Don’t ask me how I know.

    1. Can’t find the link, but I read something somewhere last year about her going to rehab for a coke addiction.

  18. Red rachael was known to wear a Che Guevara watch. Was she wearing it today or just a Rolex?

  19. Notley would have never gotten more than 15% of the vote without the Danielle smith floor crossing fiasco.
