  3. If only the poster were to realize how brain washed he is regarding Israel. Kind of sad but the facts are that both sides are equally guilty of brain washing and being brain washed. Israel is the occupier and has been a terrorist organization since the bombint of the King David Hotel. Anyone remember the USS Liberty? Oh and one final point. When Israel made its illegal move in 1948 the land it stole belonged to Palestinians who about 40% were Christian. Israel is not a nice place and it is run by some very evil people. Time for people to wake up to that fact.

  5. I’ve been to Israel….loved the old city of Jerusalem. Also been to, for varying durations, (some short, some very short, some longer), Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan……oh, and the better part of a decade in Saudi.

    ’nuff said.

    2. So you took in the tourist traps so you are an expert on Israel. Too Funny!!!! A fellow I know went to Israel as a fervent Christian Zionist. He too took in all the tourist traps and was impressed with the cordial greetings he got. Then he made a mistake and went to Gaza and actually talked to a Christian Palestinian. He came back to Canada a rabid anti Zionist. He now views Zionist Israel as a great evil. I kind of laughed and said that reminded me of the time I did some work in Cuba. My friends had all been to the tourist sites and told me that it was beautiful. I was on the communist side and believe me it was not beautiful. Rations were sparse and monotonous. You didn’t leave your room after hours. You didn’t smile at your servers lest they be accused of being a sympathizer. Not a nice place at all. Oh and did I mention the old cars down there that spew the most toxic black smoke…… But the tourists…… Too funny. You just beclowned yourself.

        I don’t claim to be an ‘expert’ in anything – I did however, as outlined on a post here a while back, go overland (the dry parts anyway), (hitching for much of the way, local buses/trains at other times), from England back to Australia where I was living at the time…..this was in 1963.

        As mentioned previously Syrians would ask us if we were German, (we learned to say yes), and tell us that the loved the Germans because “The Germans killed the Jews”.

        We, a buddy of mine & I, were also detained at gunpoint in Basra, Iraq.

        A real “look at the tourist traps” eh? It did provide some small insight into local mentalities though.
