We Don’t Need No Flaming Sparky Cars

And dealerships know it.

Continuing the U.S. decline of the brand, the Wall Street Journal is reporting that approximately half of all Buick dealership in the U.S. have opted to take a buyout from GM, as opposed to spending millions in retooling, restructuring and retraining their staff to accommodate the EV influx.

Most of the EV’s shoved onto the dealer lots sit idle without customers to purchase them.

  1. I laugh at the new Chevy commercials in which the actor orders avocado on toast without the avocado. The waitress says, so you want toast? He agrees and then tells us how expensive everything is getting and then we segue to Chev’s new EVs. I say, great. I’ll take a vehicle minus the battery.

    1. My fathers generation … the greatest generation … BUILT the most fabulous culture with an abundant and luxurious infrastructure. They damned rivers, created power plants, and built the cleanest waste water treatment in the history of the world. Then … MY generation of Boomer IDIOTS decided they couldn’t really CREATE anything better … unless you consider Social Media “better”? … so they tore it all down ma’aaaaaan. come on ma’aaaaan …

      1. “MY generation of Boomer IDIOTS decided they couldn’t really CREATE anything better …”
Well, they did help with getting to the moon, making cool cars, and music videos.
The ‘Boomer’ Generation was introduced to ‘The Pill’, which alongside abortion has made KIA figures for the 20th Century look less horrible.

    2. Yep, that’s true. But with EVs, they don’t hate you driving internal combustion vehicles: they hate you driving.

By forcing everyone to drive these electric pieces of sh!t this will overload the grid and cause shortages: you will receive a driving “ration” and too bad if you work out of town. Move closer to work and live in one of the new soviet-styled apartment blocks and take public transit. Of course the libscum elites will have free rein to swan around hither and yon, untroubled by the rules forced upon the plebes.

Words can’t describe how I loathe the Left. I have ended friendships with people who defend this sh!pot regime and the Marxism it represents, and the totalitarianism it’s displayed since 2015. People who support this are too stupid and destructive to be a part of my life.

  2. Well then, the giant 3 alarm fire at the GM factory a day ago (specializing in high end EV’s) makes more sense. I hope the Detroit Fire Marshal is good at his job.

    1. Why on earth would you “hate to promote Rush to anyone”? They are one of the few things Canada produced that I’m not deeply ashamed of. In fact, I consider them to be superb.

  3. So, with the EV market mandates:
    – people don’t want to buy them
    – dealerships can’t sell them
    – repair shops don’t want to service them
    – insurance companies don’t want to insure them
    – utilities can’t supply the electricity and upgrade the grid fast enough

Sounds like the typical government designed command economy SNAFU.

      1. That works too. We used those two acronyms interchangeably. Either way, we have an out of touch and unpopular federal government acting like communist dictators. Then again, Trudeau admitted how much he admires the Chinese dictatorship and Guillbealt is a self described socialist who visits China quite often. The SNAFU/FUBAR command economy fits right in with their ultra left wing ideology.

      2. When have government mandates in direct opposition to marketplace demands ever ended well?

Libtrash are all command-and-control socialists: so while Russians waited in line for food and warehouses bulged with unwanted shoes, canucks will wait for food, walking past by dealerships with scores of unwanted EVs.

        1. Like I’ve said previously, can you imagine these mandates with any other consumer products:

You phone an airline to book a winter beach vacation in Florida. The agent says “Sorry, but we have already filled all of our federal government mandates allowed for beach vacations…but we still have flights for Siberia available and I’ve heard that the weather in Zimbabwe is wonderful this time of year.”

          1. LCB don’t be surprised if that doesn’t come soon in our futures.

“Citizen, your travel request made two years ago for travel permission outside of your 15 minute ghetto has been rejected because a review of your past SDA comments have reflected negatively on your social standing as a result any further travel requests will be declined for 10 years unless a public heart felt recantation is made.”

  4. Investing in buick because they were popular for a few years in China was a bad idea, ev or not.

Buick sounds like the name of a stripper at a Windsor gentleman’s club

  5. A gas powered vehicle is a major convenience.. A EV is a pain in the ass.. But then again some people enjoy sorting their garbage :).. The ban is bureaucratic tyranny..

IMO what they are doing is illegal.. Insider trading, racketeering.. If a company were to do this they would get shut down and broken up.. When your government does it for political reasons?.. Climate change can not be defined..

The harm help burden of truth is on them.. I care not what activist scientists or the money hungry UN has to say..
They can not be trusted any more than our idiot liberal government..

  6. Once it bites enough lefty voters on the ASS, this shit will go away and the WEF will need another plot to install their agenda.
