The big build-up of Gaza as an impregnable Hamas tunnel fortress has turned, in a comparatively short time, into the saga of a martyr city, soon to be a displaced person’s camp, the West’s wards. Leaving politics and ethics aside, the military collapse suggests Hamas soldiers have been poorly served by their leadership. Gaza was designed as a terror base, not for the conventional war Hamas got itself and the whole strip into. It was never configured and could not conceivably have resisted the IDF. Their survival plan depended on Israel reacting as they anticipated, and not as it could. Hamas’ high command was so sure they could predict Israel’s intentions that they just plumb ignored its capabilities.

Recent reports suggest the IDF now has what’s left of Hamas’ northern Gaza battalions, which are now between a hammer and anvil, the hammer descending from the Mediterranean coast against the anvil of the open spaces on the Israeli border. When the IDF hammer reaches Salah Deen Road, probably on multiple axes, Northern Gaza will have essentially fallen. The Economist already proclaims, “The battle of northern Gaza is almost over.” The buzzards, like Abbas, are already circling overhead in anticipation. “The Palestinian Authority is ready to assume responsibilities in the Gaza Strip as part of a comprehensive political solution for the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said,” according to the Jerusalem Post. The downfall is so calamitous that some analysts now believe Hamas never calculated strategy beyond its Oct 7 raid.

It’s also likely the October 7 attack went further than Hamas anticipated. A retired CAF member who had been stationed in Israel as a Peacekeeper in the 70’s recounted to me how they began each morning by firing a single shot into the air. And each morning, the hills would light up in gunfire in response revealing where the forces opposite had moved to during the night. As he explained – “Once an Arab starts shooting, he can’t stop”.

Make the leadership hurt, and convince the students they have been failed. Maybe, just maybe, some of the damage can be undone once those doing the damage are halted.

  2. When you look at how the schools in Gaza teach hate and war it seems that the only solution is to have an international force occupy Gaza and ‘de-Nazify’ it for about 30 years.
    This will cause massive backlash in the west from the ‘refugees’ who hate us and who we’ve stupidly allowed to live here.
    We can deport those who hate us now or we can deport them after they attack.
    Or we can let them destroy us.
    Step one should be to stop letting more in.

He developed a dislike for Arabs, which they were called before they changed their name to Palestinians, because of their extreme ignorance. I believe Israel has the solution.

        From 1948 onward the arabs have been teaching their children to hate the Jews, until that changes, nothing else changes. However the effort is organized, whoever oversees the new cirriculum, the goal of reforming the education of the Arabs is essential.

    3. No international force can be trusted to not be corrupted and turn a blind eye to terrorism and targeting of Israel. I don’t know what the solution is but it is certainly NOT the UN. My best guess is totally end the UNRWA, put all Palestinians under the UNHCR. Most of them, like the ones living in the USA, would immediately lose their generational lifetime refugee status and a lot of the “aid” that HAMAS uses would vanish. The few Palestinians that are still real refugees would then end up scattered around the world. The problem is there are HAMAS sympathetic and HAMAS run entities all over the world. Canada has many HAMAS supporters who would quite happily bring the Gaza war to Canada and join in a frenzy of Jew killing, followed immediately by Christian killing. We can’t afford to import any more of them.

    4. Once they eradicate Gaza the Israelis should declare it a no-man’s land until such time as a legitimate reformation occurs amongst the arab populations. And, all who are allowed to return must commit to the continuation of Israel, instead of being committed to the destruction of Israel (and the Jewish people). A high bar. And one they will never meet in my lifetime. All the same, that is what it should be.

      UNWRA ( or whatever they are called) needs to go. All those young kids in Gaza who proudly talk about wanting to kill Jews when they grow up go to schools run by these UN monsters, who are completely controlled by Hamas. That kind of brainwashing can’t be easily undone, if at all.

        It isn’t the west’s job, to sort out their insanity, that’s on them. They’ve been this way for +1400 years and I don’t expect them to change in the next 1400 years, they shouldn’t expect civilised people to change for them either in the next 1400 years.

        After Hamas is gone, it’s important to note that the rest of the Gazan people, will still regard their religion as theirs, even as it’s led them to destruction. The Gazan people, still read the same garbage books as Hamas or ISIS did, they’re just not as devout yet. But they’ll be back, and every bit as “devout” as Hamas was. Some say “terrorist” some say devout islamic, there’s no difference.

  5. Hamas didn’t think this one through. They assumed the Israelis would respond the way that Hamas’s supporters in the west hoped Israel would respond — some tut-tuts and it isn’t that shame and let’s all just carry on.

    But no, Israel decided to root out Hamas like a bear digging out a gopher, and the world’s opinion be damned. They won’t stop until Hamas is utterly gone.

    1. Gaza is not traditional Jewish territory and from a religious standpoint the land is tainted, which is partly why Sharon was able to clear Gaza when they pulled out. I think the most Israel would do is leave it a pile of empty rubble as a warning to the world about what happens when you attack Israel. The IDF needs space to train their craft. Gaza would be great for that.

        What to do with the people there? Who cares. Their own government doesn’t care a bit about them, so why should anyone else? Send them all to wander in the Negev desert wilderness for 40 years. That seems apt.     1. Yes, and we don’t have an IDF to stop them. HAMAS also launched hundreds of small boats full of terrorists on Oct 7th with the intention of coming on shore in places like Tel Aviv. They were stopped by the Shayetet 13 special forces that can act without clearance from the government in an emergency. The nearest police from where I live are 90 minutes away in a life and death emergency at best and Trudeau is working on confiscating my guns. We’re sitting ducks, unarmed civilians with no military and neutered police forces. We could be conquered with a single division. Our only defense is half the year it’s too cold for Arabs to fight.

Israel is successful because their population is rather bright, on average, and they do not have too many naive, badly-educated lefties, as exist in most deteriorating so-called 1st world western countries. They also know what assets on which to spend money, i.e. defence, excellent education, science, medicine etc.

    The idea to create Israel was generally a rather bad idea, but western nations eschewed ideas on immigration to their countries (Canada included), especially colonial Britain.

    Palestine, is a country that never happened, as no leader there for centuries has created any kind of viable country on very nice property. All they have created is generational hatred/jealousy (that travels abroad to pollute western country air waves). Let’s face it: these under-educated, dumb folks can not get their shite together.

    1. You hear this a lot from people who visited Israel. They go over there, and they discover you can practically spit from Jerusalem to Gaza. It really isn’t far to drive. Then they see where HamAss is shooting rockets, and its like shooting from Downsview to Queens Park in Toronto. Maybe not even as far.

      And the first thing they say to the Israelis is “Are you kidding me?! Why do you put up with this?”

    2. My wife and I were enjoying the sun on the beach in lovely Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv has to be one of the loveliest cities in the world where the stunningly gorgeous wide beach is like a big open city park. You can buy fresh squeezed orange juice from vendors without leaving the sand. As we sat there two helicopters loaded with huge missiles flew over us and a few minutes later returned without missiles after bombing something in Gaza. Meanwhile a group of Israeli soldiers, beautiful fit young women carrying machine guns, took turns stripping down to bikinis and going for a swim while the others stood guard nearby. I watched very discretely and never felt safer.

We all know what happened to Faith as a result of Charlottesville, where she apparently sided with the “white supremacists.” (Personally, I don’t believe any faith-based Catholic like Faith Goldie would deliberately side with white supremacy, but that’s just my humble opinion.)

  15. Iran is the weapon supplier for both Gaza and Lebanon. Until the mullahs are overthrown, peace will be impossible. Iran supplies the weapons. In the case of Gaza the weapons are paid for by international aid, what’s left of it after Hamas leaders, who don’t live in Gaza, siphon off their share.
