Your Moral And Intellectual Superiors

However much you hate the media, it’s not enough.

On October 7, four photojournalists who provide reporting and photos for the likes of the Associated Press (AP), CNN, the New York Times, Reuters, and other outlets were allegedly at the Israeli border with Hamas terrorists who committed acts of atrocities against innocent Israeli civilians that shocked the world. Since an Israel-supporting news watchdog website reported the claim, everyone wants to know if these Gaza-based reporters knew in advance about the attack and, more importantly, if they could have saved lives by alerting the world about it. The question arises: Did the AP, CNN, the New York Times, and Reuters know about the Hamas terror attack in advance?

The allegations have sent major media into panic mode and generated even more mistrust in the corporate press. […]

In war reporting, journalists are often given a heads-up and allowed to chronicle American troops heading into battle, for example. But this wasn’t an act of war — it was terror. It was murder for murder’s sake. There hadn’t been an Israeli offensive to which the Gaza terror organization was responding. Indeed, if Hamas had been wearing uniforms and acting as an “army” they would be accused of war crimes. As it is, they’re accused of crimes against humanity.

  1. “…if they could have saved lives by alerting the world about it.”

Not really. It’s highly probable that at the highest levels Israel knew in advance about the 10/7 attack and allowed it to proceed. It’s an incredibly ruthless act, but certainly not unprecedented for this country. Just a week ago, Mossad alerted the Brazilian authorities to a Hezbollah cell (2 people) planning attacks in that country. If it doesn’t seem likely that Israeli intelligence knows about the minutiae of their enemy on the other side the globe, but has no clue about a massive attack being planned next door in Gaza, your logic circuits are intact.

    1. Klapper- It is highly plausible Israeli sigint picked up the Brazilian terrorists, who acted after the war started, but not the Hamas assault on Israel, which was planned without computers etc. and before which, Hamas was careful to maintain total radio silence.

Israel must push through to total victory, through total destruction of Hamas, which is now very near.

      1. “but not the Hamas assault on Israel, which was planned without computers etc.”

How is it then that the Americans and Egyptians then knew that something big was afoot, but the Israelis did not? My take is that the Israelis have agents inside Hamas. This is where they get the information, for example, to publish maps of the tunnel complex under the Al Shifa hospital.

In addition, from the Times of Israel comes these statements by Israeli border guards:

“At least three months prior to the attack, surveillance soldiers serving on a base in Nahal Oz reported signs that something unusual was underway at the already-tumultuous Gaza border, situated a kilometer from them.

The activity reported by the soldiers included information on Hamas operatives conducting training sessions multiple times a day, digging holes and placing explosives along the border. According to the accounts of the soldiers, no action was taken by those who received the reports.”

There is no way the upper echelons of the Israeli military and political leadership did not know there was an attack being planned, including the date of that attack.

        1. Klapper – Right. And they let it happen so that they could attack Hamas with the inevitable collateral damage of Gaza civilians which would lead Isreal and Jews around the world to be more safe and have even greater popularity at the UN and provide the Iran regime with a cause to keep them in power. The IDF are brilliant strategists, always thinking 16 moves ahead. You should work for CNN.

          1. “And they let it happen so that they could attack Hamas with the inevitable collateral damage….”

The people who make these strategic decisions are not worried about collateral damage, either their own or the enemy’s. Neither are they concerned about world opinion, with one exception; they absolutely need the US on side. The current situation is nothing new for them.

Their goal is that the Palestinians will be expunged from Gaza, maybe just northern Gaza to start, Israel will take the offshore oil and gas near Gaza, and Israeli settlers will rebuild Gaza City, but with a new name. That said they may be overplaying their hand, history will be the judge of that.

    2. Even if Israel did “leave the door open,” Hamas didn’t have to take the bait and walk in, but they did.

If Israel was complicit in any way, I would want to know about it, but that still doesn’t justify or excuse the terror and horror that Hamas committed on 10/7 — quickly becoming yet another infamous day in history, along with December 7th, 1941, and September 11, 2001.

      1. “If Israel was complicit in any way, I would want to know about it”

That attitude is a good start back towards the path of critical thinking.

      2. Agree. Nobody AFAIK is saying this is a “false flag” attack. The atrocities are real, and Hamas attackers committed them. Like many people around the world, I find it very hard to believe intelligence agencies didn’t know it was coming.

        1. Well, there were vague warnings about 9/11 as well….but the real clown in this whole story is that ass Jake Sullivan (Biden’s national security adviser) who a week before the Hamas attack said ‘The Middle East region Is quieter today than It has been in two decades’. Perhaps the U.S. had been feeding that kind of stupid “intelligence” to Israel.

  2. Don’t tell me – CNN, NYT, AP, etc. are accessories to mass murder? They should be sued into non-existence, and their executives jailed.

    1. Related – “This week for 60 Minutes, correspondent Lesley Stahl met Masih Alinejad, an Iranian activist living in Brooklyn who has been targeted by the Iranian regime for encouraging women in Iran to stop wearing headscarves. ”

Masih Alinejad: I was furious when I saw your interview because I was like, “Why?”

Lesley Stahl: When you saw me interviewing (Iranian President) Raisi and I was wearing the headscarf, the veil, you were upset.

      You think?

Masih: …By giving platform to Ebrahim Raisi and wearing hijab, you’re legitimizing one of the most barbaric laws, compulsory veiling.

Lesley Stahl: It puts us in this difficult position. And, of course, we did debate it. It’s not as if it wasn’t an issue that we understand.

Clearly they don’t, even after Masih explained it to her.

  3. The self same media that told us day after day that the non-vaccine was safe and effective-yea I believe nothing they tell me nada zip zero.

    1. And James C Smith was the CEO of Reuters up until February 2020…..you know….right at the time of the start of the COVID pandemic. He then went to sit on the Board of…..PFIZER. That’s why Reuters has consistently lied about the “vaccines”. Oh…he is also a member of WEF. The guy is scum from top to bottom.

  4. “The allegations have sent major media into panic mode and generated even more mistrust in the corporate press.”

Am I the only one that’s getting tired of this overused and thoroughly inaccurate phrase? First of all, there is no panic. The mindset of the Left in current affairs is one based on a consistent lack of repercussions (both legally, and financially). and an agenda predicated on “acts (regardless of how distasteful) justifying the means. There is no panic in the media when they skirt over their moral obligations. There is no panic in the democrat party when they get caught red handed breaking the law, abusing the justice system, of hypocritically applying a two tier justice system.

Why should any of them panic? They aren’t ever required to take responsibility for their actions. It’s why they compromised the Dept. of Justice in the first place…to avoid any panic. The media isn’t panicking. Instead, they saw in uptick in viewership based on first hand video footage of what they consider a story (regardless of immoral application of their craft). They have shown how uninterested they are in their reputation for integrity and credibility numerous times in the past. Think about the fact that Fox News only a few years ago was eating the lunch of every other media outlet. Then, they played around with their credibility and lost viewership. Now there is a void there for another upstart to steal away customer base. No one has moved in. Why? Because those in the media business don’t care about credibility as much as their benefactors care about the “message.”

    1. Well reasoned answer. The moral code has slipped and no one gives a damn until it impacts them personally.

    2. They’re laughing at us, because in their arrogance, they believe they are untouchable. Time will tell if they are right.

      1. That’s another overused and inaccurate belief. They aren’t laughing at us. They aren’t even CONSIDERING us. The narcissism that has permeated today’s decision makers disallows empathy/ sympathy. They know better. You know nothing. It’s why executive fiat has taken on such an important role in government. They circumvent the majority and the legal. It how your PM can invoke an “Emergency Act” for a purpose totally unrelated to its original intention. It’s how the Biden Administration can openly disregard Supreme Court decisions. It’s how both governments can openly lie despite the obvious nature of those mistruths. They don’t care, because those who would challenge them are “wrong.” It gets uncomfortable for them when there is a debate, because then they have to justify their positions to you rubes. It’s where the “words are violence” mentality evolved so as to shut down the debate.

I assure you that the current mentality of elite Leftists is thus: “Well, we’re going to do it this way because no one else is smart enough or dedicated enough to see how right we are.” Climate Change, Covid 19, Racism, “Transgender”, Green New Deal, Red Meat, Cow farts, Electric Cars, Borders in general. Add to that my growing suspicion that a vast majority of folks subscribing to this mentality are a bit north of mentally ill.

  5. I expect the truth on this, eventually. Though it may be when Israel is accused of killing “innocent” journalists who “just happen” to have had inside info on the 7 Oct. events.

    1. And then there is the Red Crescent (their version of the Red Cross). So far, Israel has taken out eight (8) Red Crescent ambulances. They have documentation of each of these ambulances being used to move weapons and Hamas fighters.

With each of these strikes on ambulances, Hama immediately prepares the bombed area with the scene they wish to portray to the international community. You will see some of the “injured” covered in blood (usually children)…BUT you will see the same “victims” at each of the events. And, remarkably, there is always a media camera crew on hand to document it all for posterity and propaganda. Reuters is one such participant.

  6. Back in the real world, IDF sources report that Hamas have lost control of the Gaza Strip, and are fleeing to the south, taking nothing with them but their Canadian passports, no doubt.

Gazans have finally turned on their leaders, looting Hamas bases, finally gaining access to all the food and fuel Hamas hoarded for themselves.

They know, or should know, that Hamas has signed the death warrant of Gaza’s Arabs. They’re understandably unhappy about that. Failure is an orphan.

It does not relieve Jerusalem of the responsibility to finish the job of driving the savages into the sea. The Arabs can weep for their blessed Gaza in Montreal or Dearborn or Kiev or Harare or Oświęcim or anywhere but the Land of Israel.

And if that hastens the end of the Jew-hating cult who control the Gentile world, so much the better. They, the ones who only love stealing money and raping and murdering children, are the misfortune of mankind, not the Jews.

A Nation who cannot or will not rid itself of their Jew-hating elite will not survive, and does not deserve to.

    1. You’re clueless to the big picture, jabbering on about Hamas, like you’re some kind of biblical prophet or something. Hamas is a low level player here. Useful idiots if you will, and supported by some very ruthless people in Israel, until they became not useful. They were tools of larger players on a bigger playing field and they’ll soon be gone, but the big playing field is changing fast. Not just in the middle east, but globally, alignments are shifting rapidly, not that the posters at SDA would notice, roiling around as they do in their little sandbox, ranting about the outrage of the day.

  7. I don’t think journalists give any thought to how they’re more than willing to whore themselves out to the likes of Hamas. Reminds me of the time that Ricky Gervais hosted the Oscar’s. Streaming services were very hot back then and actors were clamoring to be a part of the latest Neflix hit. He said to the audience of the Hollywood elite, “If ISIS started a streaming service, you’d all be calling your agent”.
