And sadly, both are correct.
I suspect that much of these warnings are tied to those protesting in London today, or their ilk in tier 2 Canada.
My situational awareness in Calgary was for some years near zero. There’s been a few incidences which have brought it back up to where it should be.
I’m with you. It was a trip to Edmonton that turned it back on.

Canadians are lucky. There are still plenty of places far away from any city likely to be H-bombed, where an enterprising person willing to make himself and his family completely self-sufficient can manage it with a reasonable amount of effort. Britons, living in a far more densely populated country, don’t have nearly as many places to hide.
