Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

It’s a zombie…. I’m sure you’ll see it return in regulation expansion
What did Shakespeare say about lawyers ?
Dead? Say anything you want about the Liberals, but they are tenacious and persistent with their stupidity.
Much like Tommy Douglas, not dead enough. But it’s on its way.
C-69 and other regulatory albatrosses are vastly more deserving of the focus and energy that the carbon tax gets than the carbon tax.
The carbon tax doesn’t work.
Rich people can afford to pay it, and do. They don’t need to change their behaviour.
Poorer and middle class people get more back than they pay (according to Trudeau, and he wouldn’t lie would he?). Now if the government gives most Canadians more in climate rebates than they pay in carbon taxes, why would people stop using hydrocarbons?
This has become the common strategy across the globe (not just Canada). The zealots get their fundamental legislation shot down through the Courts. Their first effort is to tweak it in a “cute” way with the hope that the media will help them pass it off as a totally different “animal.” This same approach was also used in Canada relative to streaming services having to turn over member information of their customers.
When that doesn’t work they take the “Sword of Damocles” approach and try and make the market so hostile and uncertain that those entities effected (and some would say protected) by the High Court’s ruling are reluctant to proceed. Many eventually diversify….some disappear. Almost all can’t afford to make a major investment in an industry that the Left is doing all they can to obliterate by any means necessary.
A tax is a tax is a tax.. Nothing more and nothing less.. The only reason government appears to work is it floats on a sea of endless money.. Any way you measure it (lol) they will fail.. Saving the world?.. Or is it they want it because we don’t?.. Failure doesn’t care..
