My immediate ancestors might be traumatized by knowing of some of the things I do and/or have done, but I can’t fathom how I should be affected by things they suffered without me, e.g. getting bombed by the Luftwaffe.
North American indigenous folks spend a lot of time celebrating their ancestors as “braves.” Meaning the savage who killed, plundered and raped at a high level of efficiency.
