    1. I find that the Maritimes to be the least ideological part of English Canada. They are basically a semi-feudal society controlled by a few dominant families where the voters are primarily concerned with how much largesse a particular candidate – regardless of party affiliation – can secure from King Ottawa. And while its not fair to say that there is NO enterprise in the Maritimes, it’s predominantly a welfare dependency culture, I mean when was the last time you heard the phrase “Maritime work ethic?”

      1. Last year in Fort Mac. Check out Canada338. Predicting 8 libs to get re-elected, same as in Western Canada. That’s why the grifters are panicking

  1. Or..We can separate our affairs from such as they..
A country that elects 2 Trudeau’s has committed suicide.
So long Confederate Kleptocracy of Can Ahh Duh.
Our “Natural Ruling Party” are scum, but the creatures who vote for them, are even worse.

  2. We have always known thats how it works. Now we have it straight from the horses mouth. Vote Liberal or no one is listening to you! What a surprise – an honest Liberal

  3. 1. Well I think we can stop ignoring the obvious now. The Trudeau Liberal-NDP government is using carbon pricing as a weapon to punish Alberta and Saskatchewan.

2 Moe should direct Saskenergy, the natural gas company owned by the people of Saskatchewan, to immediately remove the federal carbon tax from saskenergy bills. The first use of the Saskatchewan First legislation. If the Trudeau Liberal-NDP government won’t do the right thing and pause the home heating natural gas carbon tax, then our province must step in and protect Saskatchewan families from the vindictive, divisive federal government.

    1. Just add a ‘carbon tax’ of $500/tonne to all oil, propane, and natural gas going to Ontario and Quebec.

When Ontario and Quebec complain, just say this is what Guilbeault and Trudeau want.

      1. Why not both?

Immediate relief to Saskatchewan families by eliminating the carbon tax on home heating *and” bit of pain to the rest of Canada. Alberta and Saskatchewan need to become ungovernable by not complying with the Trudeau Liberal-NDP government’s abusive carbon tax and energy edicts.

  4. Oh yeah, a great strategy that’s always worked out well in the past
    Let’s do that again
Could we please have more chickens voting for Colonel Sanders?

  5. Or we could send our pediatric surgeons to Ottawa to move in with his soon to be ex wife.

    Bazinga!

  6. It is never a bad day when your enemies proudly and loudly self identify.
For far too long Western Canadians have been hearing these parasites declare war upon us..
And then telling themselves,”They can’t mean that..They can’t be that stupid”.
Well wake up in The West..They really are this stupid..
And compound stupidity always end in evil.

The road to Hell is paved with “Good Intentions”.

  7. It was always about punishment for not voting Liberal. The policy started in 1968 under Pierre, mushrooming in 1982 with the National Energy Program, was continued under Justatwat with global warming and the carbon tax. It was helped along by the fact that Alberta and Saskatchewan were hindered by a group of quislings in Redmonton and Regina all too willing to help the federal Liberals.

  8. Oh please don’t forget the role of Mulroney showing us that even electing members of the ruling party was a bust.
We ignoring this fact is westerners just sticking our heads in the sand.
To risk adverse to face reality??
    Free The West

  9. No surprise to anyone here that the LPC is nothing more than a protection racket. Way back when we had a less obviously partisan media, a statement like that would have been the end to a political career even though it was an honest statement. There was a pretense that was observed. Not now apparently.

  10. Sounds like something they were saying in Great Britain about the time when the tea was being thrown in the harbour in Boston.

  11. Another stroll down memory lane. One federal election (don’t remember which, too lazy to look it up), the Maritimes voted solidly Conservative. I heard on the radio, Johnny Cretin’s reaction – yes, he actually said this – “Hmph – they should of known what to expect when they didn’t vote Liberal. I hope they’re not expecting any federal money this term…”

So yeah, it’s always been this way. And a Newfoundland MP spewing this trash? – it used to be said that on a clear day in Port Aux Basques you could see the Treasury building in Ottawa.

  12. The Liberals are readying their Atlantic Canada “strategy” for the next election. And just so I’m clear on the logic, if nobody votes Liberal in the next election we won’t be able to get rid of the carbon tax?

  13. See! Let this be a lesson to us all!

Even pathalogical liars are capable of telling the truth every now and then!

  14. In theory, governments must balance spending and revenue to achieve a balanced budget. This is the basis for arguments such as keeping the Canada Pension Plan solvent through increasing immigration to increase revenue as the population average age increases. Running a budget deficit must have an eventual payback for the money spent such as roads, etc.

Once the federal government prints money without any value to back it up, spending becomes separated from revenue. Taxation is then just a way to punish opponents and coerce behavior.

In the modern world, taxes are actual dollars out of the pockets of individuals and companies. Money is being made through running printing presses or editing a number on a computer without connection to any actual asset of value. Inflation and graft are natural results.

It’s an interesting question whether lower levels of government at the provincial/ state, county, or municipal levels should maintain balanced budgets when the federal government is manipulating the currency. One response is to get on board the gravy train and play along. Another response might be to go your own way if there is the will and means to stand on your own.

  15. When I first read this I thought it was fake. They couldn’t be that stupid to say something like this.
I stand corrected. They are that stupid.

This has to come right out of the PMO.
MP Hutchings wouldn’t have the guts to say something like this without direction from the PM.

  16. Sadly you underestimate the Modern Progressive.
Our Progressive Comrades, really are that stupid.
And we shake our heads and retort “They cannot be that stupid”.
    Wrong once again.
Prior to Dread Covid Theatre,I had some hope Canadians might regain their senses and a grasp of reality.
    Wrong again.
And as a consequence I now argue that compound stupidity always becomes evil activity..
    And that stupidity is contagious.

Intelligent behaviour is inversely proportional to the number of persons involved.

Therefore the population of a country is crucial?
When did Andora last declare war on anyone?

    1. JR – you are correct.

The Bong is comfortable pitting one region of the country against the other. A vile little adolescent twerp.

  17. Eastern Canada better vote Conservative now since it’s clear that the Liberal Party is going to take a shit kicking in the next election.
    By her own logic.

  18. Sounds like A Turdeau threat/bribe. It’s falling faster and faster by the day under his leadership.
