  1. Er, yes. And the NYT consistently supports totalitarian regimes and attacks democracies. The NYT represents darkness during these days towards the end of the Enlightenment.

    1. Sorry David, they are not. It is not disinformation, they are just plain f*****g lying. Language use is important. A f*****g lie is still a lie, euphemisms are meaningless.

  2. “Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle. The real extent of this state of misinformation is known only to those who are in situations to confront facts within their knowledge with the lies of the day. … I will add, that the man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them; inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods & errors.”

Nothing changes, and the Times has been at it since at least the 1930s

    1. Agreed, JD. I remember when one of their ex-editors blew the whistle on them, saying that the bosses told them stuff like “we don’t just report the news, we create it” and “public opinion is what we make it” and “find me someone to say (this) about (that)”.

And there are many more examples over the years. I’m puzzled that anyone still takes them seriously as a news organization.

  3. Journalism gave up any pretense of impartiality during the Dubya years then quickly transitioned into being Saint Barry’s cheerleaders. This is a direct result of the communization of our education systems. Schools have prioritized pumping out socialist activists over anything else and they believe that reality can be bent to their wishes no matter how many lies they have to tell.

  4. Most of the major and semi-major media (of all types – print, tv, entertainment, etc.) can be placed into one of two categories:

Disinfo – lies, lies, and more lies pushing agendas, almost completely on the far-left of the political scale. Some media will push more economic leftism, while others will push more social leftism, but in the aggregate they are always pushing a far-left agenda. Some will push harder and faster than others, but the current is in the same direction for all. There will only be enough occasional truth and facts to keep most people returning.

Also disinfo, but less than the other sources. This group will also point out the lies, falsehoods, and general dishonesty from the former. Even so, this group will push the same agenda in general, just not at the same speed or do so with more apparent caution. And this group will NEVER dig into root causes – it will simply oppose the narrative of the overt left.

The NYT, much like Canada’s CBC, or the Mop & Pail, or the Toronto Star are on the ultra-far left extreme of the political spectrum. And these outliers help to make other controlled opposition sources like the National Post seem objective, if only by comparison. But they all push the same agenda and are owned and controlled by the same people.

  5. Agreed. Different flavours of sweetened and spiced turds are still turds.

Having said that, perfection, utopia is an ideal and not a reality.

Actually, IIRC, Utopia is a band.
