      Man that guy was trying way too hard to fit every Liberal Party talking point into his questions. Are Canadian reporters really expecting Poilievre to reinforce the media’s anti-conservative biases? Poilievre basically controlled the entire interview and became the one asking pertinent and revealing questions. Obviously the guy was not a professional reporter. An official parliamentary reporter from the legacy media would have thrown a huge temper tantrum and stormed off in a snit. This man looked embarrassed and confused because he’s never been challenged on or really thought about the ridiculous talking points he hears on Canadian TV, radio and print media. A rude awakening to a different point of view.

  5. Yeah, saw the clip yesterday. It’s quite telling about the garbage character of those in the media. Every “question” was not actually a question, was just typical cookie-cutter talking points from the Left. It’s very good that PP has good reflexes and cut the scumbag off every time.
    Heard this morning at 1010AM John Moore panel discussion, another example of how spineless and worms are these guys: they were discussing CBC’s internal directive to name Hamas thugs, ‘militants’ not ‘terrorists’. And the conclusion in the end was: oh well, that’s the standard of AP. No one mentioned that this ‘standard’ actually hides a truth under the rug. Young gullible these days bleat about free Palestine etc because decades and decades all the worms in the media churned garbage and obfuscated truth.

This apparatchik suffers from cognitive dissonance, when describing why the CBC won’t call Hamas atrocities terrorism.
      Quoting his explanation “Terrorism generally implies attacks against unarmed civilians for political, religious or some other ideological reason. But it’s a highly controversial term that can leave journalists taking sides in a conflict.” DUH
      I suggest the controversial bit that leaves the CBC journalists trembling , is the genocidal terrorist acts committed by Hamas is shattering the worldview narrative of Israel bad, Palestinians good’ pushed by the left and reinforced by their own personal anti-semitic views.

    JT refuses to take any questions from Rebel, True North, Blacklocks, etc.

    One advantage PP has – when you have brain dead opponents, you know ahead of time what their “questions” (accusations, talking points) will be, so you can think through responses ahead of time.
    But I still love seeing the media – the real enemies of Canada in any election – trashed and shown to be fools.

    1. Agreed. But it’s more than that. Justatwit is so unpopular now that he never meets ordinary Canadians in public. He was swarmed by hostile Canadians at his public appearance in July in Belleville. Hence the Coward in the Cottage does what he does best – hiding under the bed.

      PP has another advantage. Because of his family situation, none of these socialist slime dare to use anything resembling race-baiting against him. Which constrasts strongly with Justatwit whose spouse has thrown him over a couple of years ago.

  7. Had dinner on the weekend at my son’s house with the grandkids & their spouses. Talk devolved into politics wherein my son exclaimed “I’ll never vote for Poilievre”. Since he doesn’t live in his riding, unless he moves, he’s not voting for Poilievre any way. BTW, his MP is a Conservative & he’s perfectly happy with the guy. When I asked why not, he stuttered & stammered but couldn’t come up with an answer, then tried to deflect back on me that I must agree with all Poilievre’s policies, old & new. Reminds me of chatting with a family group & their friends back before Trump was elected. They were loudly denouncing him as *******, etc., the usual CBC talking points. When I said I thought he was going to win, listen to his message & try to understand why he appeals to Joe Average, I was immediately rounded on as a MAGA supporter, etc.

        The orchard owner/Castanet reporter was definitely reading prepared narrative reinforcing statements “questions” from the script he was holding. I suppose Castanet higher-ups gave him the script. “Here. ask these questions** and watch PP squirm.”

        This did not turn out well for the orchard owner/reporter. It was a glorious thing to watch.

  16. Castanet, it’s Kelowna, while there are a few conservative views, it’s close enough to Lower Main La La Land, you get the spill over. Lots of people from Vancouver live there, vs. Albertans that do too. Local politics and their politicians are a joke.

      at each campaign stop Harper and his handlers decided it was best to stand down become a punching bag and allow these Lib/NDP frauds to hi-jack the proceedings by giving long irrelevant speeches primarily consisting of LIbshit NDPer talking points and narratives disguised as “questions”.

      Harper would stand at the podium like a lost child and allow these morons to get up on their hind legs and spew their disinformation while giving Liberal campaign speeches and Harper and his inept handlers would do nothing to stop it.

      If Con voters in the crowd got impatient and would then show their displeasure with these Lib operatives hijacking the show then Harper would tell his voters to stay silent and allow the shit show to continue.
      If only Harper and his corrupt team had decided to fight back against the lies and innuendo of these fraudsters we might have had a slightly different outcome… maybe… keeping in mind that Canadians are political imbeciles, historically illiterate and completely unserious people.

  23. Two things stand out, first you just know that reporter was rubbing himself before the interview with his prepared Gotcha statements. (I didn’t hear any questions) and it blew up in his face.

    Second the term ‘Populist’ is presented as something right wing and evil. The truth is Trudeau and Obama were the quintessential populist politicians, because neither of them had done anything in their lives prior to getting elected.

  24. He sounds so much like an American Republican, and we all know how well they do what they say. How can you require cities to build housing without just creating more largesse? How can you give bonuses for building more houses without creating more largesse? If you get the State out of the way, the market will provide everything people want to pay for, prioritized to what they want to pay for the most. Government solutions are only solutions for those in the government.

    Though when he starts thinking if the optics are not the best he would probably fold, although I would really, really like to be wrong on that point.
    On the other hand he does not have to agree with me on everything.
