Three links from the National Post to get you started: 12 to watch on Canada’s rapidly rising right; an op-ed from John Ivison, for whatever he’s worth and Chris Selley: Conservative policy conventions are where the media stock up on ammo.
If you’re at the convention, your observations and reactions are particularly welcomed.

No place for me in that big blue and multi-hued tent.
Politics in a democracy are not about right or wrong, They are all about various political factions crafting and selling a message to constituents that those constituents will buy. If voters do buy it, the successful faction obtains theoretical control over the state’s increasingly massive taxing, regulating, money-printing, intelligence-gathering, and enforcement apparatuses. The faction can then use the state’s resources to punish its enemies and reward its friends and benefactors. The state and its apparatuses, however, are themselves purposeful actors and can effectively resist a political faction’s attempts at management and direction.
Recently, huge state-sponsored corporate oligopolies have co-opted all political factions to form a uniparty of anti-free-market, corporacratic, collectivist special interests.
The state propaganda in western democracies that “we the people are in charge; we own this place” is mind control to elicit complacency and compliance among the governed.
At least among the populations of overt tyrannies and dictatorships, even in the Soviet Union where state indoctrination was everywhere, people knew the state was evil and told nothing but lies.
L – Notable is the absence of anyone critical of Covid-19 policies or
their import for physical, mental and economic damage to Canadians.
The Charter violations, the surrender of public health policy and, in
effect, all levels of government responsibility to the World Health
Agency(heavily influenced by again, China).
Derek Sloan not invited back in… No mention of the Freedom Convoy.
Bury the injured, maimed and dead under a political carpet in Ottawa.
Are any of the Canadian dissident doctors e.i. Canadian Covid Care
Alliance going to speak to the C.P.C. convention?
Is there a resolution to make the RCMP politically independent of
partisan politics, including having them be responsible to Parliament
and an all party committee rather than answering to a gov’t. minister?
Reforming the RCMP, as former Assist. Commissioner Robert Head
advocated decades ago, is a necessary. Using police or any part of
the police/legal system for political purposes is deadly to a free
and democratic society. Ours is in a coma fighting to breathe.
Conservative convention, been there done that , a freaking waste of time.
The Conventions do let the hoipolloi let off steam, in a controlled fashion, during the policy sessions.
They used to say that you went to a Liberal convention to get laid, you went to a Conservative convention to get drunk , and you went to an NDP convention to pick up 10 pounds of brochures.
“Conservative” convention. LOL.
Elite selected Libcon and ex-WEF Poilievre will be a good boy as PM and will “hold the line” for whoever really rules Canada. Not its citizens. Starting with the fake conservatism they in the CPC espouse.
I will be voting PPC one more time then will attempt to leave this country of low IQs
Will they apologize for calling Canada genocidal? How about an apology for stripping away our rights during covid? Or for slandering Christine Anderson?
Someone let me know if they ever become “conservative”.
Until then, it’s the PPC for me.
They are just slightly less left, nobody even in the center in cucked Canada.
So, when does the bus full of holyweird actors, hired to pretend CONSERVATIVE , arrive?
Anybody who thinks voting ‘conservative’ will save Canada is hopelessly delusional. It is long past saving and needs to be put out of its misery. You can vote yourself into communism but can’t vote yourself out. I think the show trial of Tamara Lich will be telling. What are the chances of a total acquittal? I will be voting Max again for something to do, but given that he is stuck at 3% it will not do any good.
Conservative Party is just the controlled opposition, they are part of the Uniparty with a small C beside it, so as not to be confused with the Uniparty L . They quibble on the little things with the Libs, so as to appear different, but on all of the big and important issues they are in lockstep with the Liberals.
The CPC says they will not seize legal firearms, will expunge the west coast tanker ban, will cling to Supply Side management, will continue with immigration, and will allow pipelines.
So they are different on SOME issues, but not many. Power Corp et al have very narrow parameters for government.
Vote PPC, ensure another Liberal victory. At least the CPC has no radical environmentalists in their ranks, while the LPC is chock full or ’em.
I’d vote for them just on the firearms issue, but they’re good on a few other things too, as you point out. There’s no use in whining that they and Poilievre are not perfect. This is as good as it gets.
Larry pretty well nailed it at 2:35. Their ‘policy’ development is the erasure of 2 years of CPC history.
