Several years ago we were on a moto trip through the alta plana. We went to this salt flat and stayed at a salt hotel in the middle of it. Pretty cool. There are actual islands in this salt flat and you can drive up to them like you were in a boat. Giant cactus’s grow that look like saguaros.
