  1. I’m not a big Jordan Peterson fan. I think he’s too willing to give certain individuals and entities the benefit of the doubt when in fact they have a chronic history of the same abhorrent behavior. That being said, I find it hilarious that some “social media expert” is going to have to contend with him in their re-education camp. That job is going to rank up there with “Deadliest Catch” and “Ice Road Truckers.” It’s not a job any sane individual would relish.

    1. Are you kidding me? There will be a huge line of the ideologically pure waiting for the chance to be the one to break him. His history being replete with instances of leaving lefties on the debate floor holding their heads in pain is but a challenge to them. Only the grifters will be crapping their pants at the prospect of facing him one on one.

  6. Having to attend and having to absorb their nonsense are not the same thing. Make their lives a living hell by questioning everything and arguing every point. I forget the movie but something to the sense of “you think I’m trapped in here with you, but actually you’re trapped in here with me.” Quite confident he will have them seeking counseling before it is over.

      1. I did not see that. I guess you have to figure out how much the fun is worth and go from there. Hopefully he will be able to appeal this rubbish, but given the SCOC I wouldn’t put a lot of money on his chances.

        1. Appeal to the blackbirds is just another way to drain the target’s resources. There is no hope of justice, merely process. What we have now is politics, not law.

          It’s quite evil, when you look at what these proceedings actually take in time, money and human energy.

          The College evidently expects to enrich itself and its toadies at Peterson’s expense. I don’t really think they understand the gravity of what they’ve undertaken here. Canada’s Bud-Lite moment? Could be.

          One thing that could certainly happen is the casting of the entire College and all its members into disrepute. If people conclude the practice of Psychology in Canada is fundamentally corrupt, then they will STOP GOING TO PSYCHOLOGISTS. As well they should, given the obscene atrocities being committed on kids in the name of transgender.

          The psychologist is required, by law and by College regulation, to tell your little boy he is in fact a girl. To tell your little girl she is in fact a boy. They are required to recommend catastrophic surgeries and destructive drugs to YOUR kid. Are you going to send your kid to that guy? No way.

          So just let that discontent percolate a while, and pretty soon “psychologist” has the same meaning as “witch doctor” and the lawsuits will be piling up. Lawyers will like that, but the College of Psychologists will not.

  7. Where this will go:

    * He will be compelled to sit in the room with his ‘educators’ as they ‘instruct’ him on how & what to say in public.
    * He will refuse to heed any of these instructions.
    * The instructors will report back to the college that the training was not completed successfully.
    * The college will, perhaps, give him a second opportunity to complete this training, or perhaps proceed directly to disciplinary action.
    * Said discipline will mean either a suspension or revocation of his license and an order that he cease referring to himself as a psychologist.
    * He will refuse to obey this order.
    * The college will take him to court again, citing his refusal to obey this order.
    * The court will find in the college’s favor and attach further legal penalties for his refusal to comply.
    * What he does at this point is a little fuzzier, but perhaps he leaves Canada permanently rather than comply.

    This is Canada; this outcome is all but preordained. The culture of judicial deference to regulatory authorities is powerful, and our precious Charter all but worthless in such matters.

      In Jordan’s case other jurisdictions have already said they would licence him to practice. So he can continue to call himself a licenced psychologist and tell ON to FO.

    2. IM, this was a civil court, not a criminal court. He can simply refuse to comply and defy the College to revoke his licence. As RN rightly noted, he can be approved by any other jurisdiction and granted a licence to practice. As for the Charter, you are right; it’s always been worthless in cases of regulatory overreach.

  9. Since Peterson has announced his intention to record and make public the re-education, it will be interesting to see if any “suitable” professional would be willing to take the contract. The college may win an order which is impossible to enforce.

    That being said, he has every right to say what he likes, and no-one has any legitimate authority to stop him.
    No-one has any legitimate authority to stop anyone from saying anything, short of incitement to murder or commit mayhem, and no-one has any legitimate authority to prevent me from listening to whoever I want.
    …of course the Forever War folk don’t agree with me, and think that what they call “Enemy Propaganda” should be banned, so here we are, with a man getting punished for speaking his mind.

  18. Peterson is naive if he thinks he can play this game with them and win. Has he not seen The Last Emperor? He will also not be allowed to record the process. That will be a form of non compliance. He should tell them to pound sand and refuse to play.

    2. He will record and broadcast the whole thing. They made that a certainty when they said -he- had to pay for it. If he’s paying for it, then it happens with the “professional” of his choice, in the location of his choice, under whatever conditions he decides.

      The very first problem the College will face is finding a “professional” willing to become widely reviled in Canada. Because -we- are all going to know who they are. Personally, I would spit on that guy in the street if I knew who they were. It will be the last job they do, possibly.

    However, I would muse that he could move on, and still help much more, sans the clinical niche.

    2. Quite some time ago, Peterson said he could survive nicely without the professional designation. The reason he is fighting for it is for those of us who cannot afford to. My admiration for him increased exponentially with that ❤️

    An MD pays around $35 000/year, just to be allowed to practice, if he misses a payment, he ain’t a doctor no more, no matter what, no matter how good or bad he may be.

    I wish to lodge a complaint against the College for impinging on the Charter rights of Dr. Jordan Peterson and by extension, myself and all Canadians.

    I am an Honorable Lifetime Member of the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC), like the College, a regulatory body for professionals. Without informing its’ membership, PPOC publicly aligned our members with Black Lives Matters, trans-activism and instituted their own Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Advisory Committee. I was not in agreement with the political direction my organization had undertaken as I believed, based on nearly 40 years of association and participation, that PPOC was impugning both the organization and our members by making the assumption that we were at the very least, vessels of inherent if unrecognized racism and sexism.

    Like Dr. Peterson and the College, I was threatened with the loss of my credentials unless I were to submit to a tribunal of the PPOC ethics committee, despite the fact that my concerns and complaints were made internally rather than publicly. I would suggest to the College that you are acting unethically – that your concern lies not with the public nor patients, but with an ideology that demands fealty and fears free thought. Canada, once a proud, honourable and free nation, is not the Canada I have always known and loved. The College and it’s enablers are leading us to a very dark place while proclaiming the moral high ground. This cannot end well.

    2. I had a similar situation years ago. I stood up and was hammered down. Everyone else got the message loud and clear. Apart from hand wringing, no one stood up for me. Count on it.

      1. JP is a much sought after interviewee. Programs are typically planned well in advance and this decision just happened, His daughter is involved in media and a big supporter of his. I think it is just fine that she is backing him and helping him get his message out. Did you expect the CBC to give him a platform?

  36. Whoever it is that takes the task of re-educating JBP better realize that he’s an intellect with an IQ somewhere north of 185. Watch a few extended clips of him taking questions, making comments and lecturing and you soon realize, if you care to check, that his ability to analyze, formulate an answer and communicate it exactly as he means it is unfathomable to the vast majority of viewers. We’ve been accustomed to BS fluff for so long that when truly brilliant people speak we take it as the regular BS. He, as a psychologist, will analyze the speaker, come to a conclusion and then re-educate them all day, for months if that’s what they want to subject him to. I look forward to this process playing out. Nothing like a Saskatchewan born fella, raised in the hinterlands of the Peace country all book learned and fancy, having NDP volunteer experience, kicking a bunch of wokies in the crotch repeatedly and unapologetically simply because he can afford to do it, and enjoys a good (even if one-sided) debate. The lineup of lefties to apply for the task will be incredibly privileged if they win the brass ring to get free counseling by JBP.
