I arose Friday morning with a song in my heart, a skip in my step, and a dull pressure in my bladder knowing that today was the day for Oddments. Along with Powerline’s TWIP on Saturday, this is the highlight of my week. Imagine my profound disappointment when my Oddments wasn’t there. I kept telling myself that there must be some good reason for them being late but as the day wore on I had to accept that they weren’t going to show up late. So with heavy heart I prepared myself for what I must do. I had the rope around my neck, the arsenic in my tea, the gun in my mouth, and the blade against my wrist when I decided I really should write a manifesto explaining my actions. I am just about halfway through my 1500-page dissertation and now here – O frabjous day! – the Oddments have arrived. Thank you for sparing me the necessity of leaving my wife a horrible mess to clean up.

Re the pipe cleaning ferret. If they’d simply asked any electrician they’d have found out that the simplest solution isn’t in fact compressed air but rather a vacuum cleaner (ShopVac). You attach a monofilament line (fishing line) to a soft wad, insert at on end of your pipe run, then hook up the hose to the vac at the other end of the run…airtight around the nozzle… then turn it on. feed the line into the open end until it reaches the vac. Use the fishing line to pull a nylon cord through the run. Attach your cleaning ‘mop’ and solution and swab out the pipe. That’s how cable is pulled into conduit.
