Here’s the take-away from this story. The FBI is so confident in their status and lack of repercussions associated with their actions, that they actually came out to the public and said, “Yeah, so, we did it. Whatcha going to do about it?”
The DOJ (of which the FBI is a subsidiary) provides the umbrella. They know it, we know it. Nothing can be done until someone roots out the lifers and hacks and activists making the decisions in the DOJ. This is nearly impossible to do since the DOJ has shown it’s willingness to interfere in general elections. And, even if a conservative reformer was able to secure the head of the Executive branch, there is no way the proper person passes the nomination process for Attorney General.
I’d add the addendum that the FBI (and the DOJ) are not only willing to flaunt their imperious status to us all. They have taken it a step further and used their position to aggressively attack anyone (regardless of status/integrity/power) using all the tools of their trade. Civil Litigation, criminal indictments, censorship, judicial misrepresentation, midnight FBI raids, illegal misuse of meta-data, selective prosecution, outright contempt of court, outright contempt of congressional oversight, more than likely blackmail, refusal to honor FOIA, ignoring Supreme Ct. Decisions etc.

My buddy, who worked on ‘The Hill’ for 35+ years pointed out something else. Within a relatively short period of time every newly minted MP becomes ethically compromised by freebies, and they don’t even realize it is happening. So if/when they want to speak out about something odious, they are gently nudged back into line with a reminder about who paid for their hockey game tickets or the fantastic grub at that cultural event they attended.
It is no different in our provincial legislatures or in Washington DC or the State capitols in the USA.
Ergo, the status quo maintains.
its almost like the process is basically designed and expected to work that way. its plausible for instance, in an alien civilization at our level with a variety of democratic norms mixed in with tyranny that this also happens ‘out there’ 4 billion lite years away. the real question then becomes whut in gawds name does the average taxpaying schmuck do about it?
there are social systems and predictable outcomes mimicking laws of nature like gravity or chemical reactions. so, what do we do about it at the individual level?
Yes, there is almost an inevitability about it that approaches dead certainty. And any attempt to rectify things results in nothing enduring or memorable.

It used to be that the Left had limited options because they still considered the optics of their actions. But, they don’t bother with that anymore. I think the most likely scenario is another pandemic. It would seem contrived. But, that’s no longer a consideration. Most on the left don’t care. Most on the right don’t have the fortitude to honor that position.
Personally, I’m waiting on a virus to pop up that effects both humans and herd animals (you may recall that there were rumors of such a disease popping up in China causing massive herd reduction such that Canada cut down feed exports to China). I’d be shocked if one doesn’t show up in the near future (and in a general election year). They want you reliant on them. They want emergency powers to circumvent constitutional rights. And, they want to control the food supply so the carrot/stick approach carries more weight.

My 50+ year old son just told me that 4 of his friends now have cancer.
My 36 year old daughter has an aggressive and rare form of breast cancer. 16 weeks of chemo are now complete. She’s waiting for a surgery appointment to have a double mastectomy which will be followed by a series of radiation treatments.
She got the shot because her company mandated it and got boosted because she and her husband wanted to travel to Europe for his brother’s wedding.
