  2. An interesting thing came to my attention yesterday. I was working in a hospital, chatting with the workers. In BC they just signed a new labor agreement. One of the clauses ties their increases in pay to the economic growth GDP numbers. I don’t know the details, but thought it was interesting.

      If GDP goes down, do they get a pay cut? I doubt it.

      Share in the upside, but not the downside.

      1. GDP will always lag inflation. They are short-changing themselves. I would ask for a cost-of-living increase calculated the way they did back in 1980.

      2. The GDP is meaningless these days. One has to have a productive economy to have a GDP. We do not.

  5. I think the Trump indictment for J6 will backfire. Fact is, the election was stolen and this trial will provide the very first opportunity to put the facts on the table in a high profile court case.     Really, unless Trump’s lawyers reslly screw up, the facts in the case should favor Trump.

    I figured I would replace all my venetian blinds with new venetian blinds.. I figured wrong.. They are all gone the way of lawn darts.. As usual what’s left is either unsuitable or much more expensive.. If you insist you can still get them custom made in a window treatment store.. Obviously, for much more money..

    1. So just for fun, John, let’s do a straw poll and see if anyone can recount an incident in which a young child caught their necks in the venetian blind cords and died of strangulation. We will allow 3rd party accounts as legitimate. I have never, ever heard of it happening so that is one “No”. I would posit that this is another member of the nanny state snivel service trying to justify their existence over a non-existent or so infrequent as to be almost non-existent problem (which is very much a First World kind of issue – the Third World can’t be bothered).

      It is called natural selection. That child is stupid and would probably lock itself in an oven or swallow a razor blade if prevented from hanging itself on a curtain cord. Some cannot be helped, it is better Darwin scores before they breed. If Darwin fails the child could become a safety regulator.
