Go Woke, Go Broke

Welcome to the New Rules.

“Today we took the very difficult but necessary decision to eliminate a number of positions across our corporate organization,” said Brendan Whitworth, Anheuser-Busch CEO. “While we never take these decisions lightly, we want to ensure that our organization continues to be set for future long-term success.”

As of March, the company had 167,000 employees worldwide in 50 countries, according to regulatory filings.

The company is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, while North American headquarters can be found at One Busch Place in St. Louis.

These layoffs come months after the company saw controversy over transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney’s video promoting Bud Light in April. Calls for a boycott caused Bud Light sales to plummet, though Bud Light has been shrinking for years.

Truth: “Right…some jerkwad in Marketing makes a terrible decision and the first people are impacted are the people who would have told them not to do it.” Biden’s America in a nutshell.

  1. I wonder if the brilliant head of marketing for Bud Light will survive?

Actually I don’t. I have no doubt, she will remain comfortably in place, if she doesn’t get promoted well past her current level of incompetence.

  2. Every one of the Ivy League executives responsible for alienating a giant chunk of their clientele will retain their jobs with added perks and bonuses

    1. At least its private money.

The Bank of Canada is an utter failure at fiscal policy, and it gave 80% of its employees bonuses…

    1. I agree that the purpose of the government’s actions is to crash the economy, but no where in the podcast did Danielle Park say that out loud (I listened to it all). She believes that this is just another normal economic cycle where the problems will be solved by less credit, economic downturn and suffering as it has in past. She doesn’t see the government as a malevolent agent.

  3. Leading up to this, there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth… and casting of blame for any coming layoffs on…

    … wait for it…

…the, customers(!) for not buying Tranny Fluid and other AB products.

It’s all our fault, not AB’s management. If we hadn’t stopped buying their products, they would not have had to lay off people.

I kept waiting for some sign of an intelligent crisis response from AB management, but noooo. Oh, and now they have pissed off the alphabet people by throwing Mulvaney under the bus.

    Anheuser Bush management disappoints.

  4. Sorry for the truck drivers and warehouse workers blue collar for getting screwed with this. most of them will tell you THAT it was a stupid management decision, had already refused they were not going to place pictures on their trucks too late now. One trans mental picture cost hundreds of jobs. Maybe worse.

      1. Do they actually expect anyone to believe that?! They’re going to pay employees on idle production lines to just sit around and wait for demand to suddenly return to normal???

  5. Wake me up for the bad news.

At best, this will be a cautionary tale for other businesses looking to go woke. At worst…

  6. Any Jays fans here?

Wonder what they’re doing with the “Budweiser Studio” becoming the “Weiser Studio”…

Maybe much like they took the chicken out of KFC and the burger out of BK I guess.
