Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

The problem with the instant ‘news’, breaking news, is everyone refuses to stop and say, “Is someone with an agenda trying to bait me”.
News media used to take time to verify stories; now it’s get it on the air fast. And if it supports our agenda/viewpoint we’ll air it even faster.
Has nothing to do with AI. People used to photoshop stuff all the time.
It’s now about malicious journalism, and gullible readers.
It’s been going on for centuries. There is a story about a Rothchild sending a runner back to London with news that the British had suffered a crushing defeat at Waterloo. The fake news was the first news, the market crashed and Rothchild made a fortune on it.
Exactly. Just recently, there was a story going around that there was a killer virus infecting the world. And so people poisoned themselves, and pharmaceutical companies made a fortune.
Only now are people starting to wake up to the fact it was entirely a lie.
Anything that can’t be blamed on climate change or white supremacy will now be blamed on AI.
We had a similar problem in the 80s.
“Is It Real, Or Is It Memorex?”
Yeah, but we had Ella to help us.
I’m also wondering if anyone made large stock trades (or shorts, etc.) before the ‘news’ article?
Someone made $$$
That’s the first thing that came to my mind as well.
As always, it wasn’t me. Especially the “made $$$” part.
I’ve heard that if you say “gullible” slowly enough, it sounds like “oranges”
With todays tech, you cannot believe a damn thing you see.
With todays politics you cannot believe a damn thing you see either.
What could POSSIBLY go wrong?!
Ohhhhh mommma … PROOF … that the government must immediately institute a Disinformation Office of truthiness.
1) how many algorithmic trading programs were triggered by this “event”
2) who made money on the drop and who made money on the bounce?
3) who floated it initially? who was dumb enough to run with it?
Yeah … the SEC will get right on that. Sheesh.
I just attended a wedding … in Malibu, CA … and the best man started his speech by saying he was so busy prior to the wedding that he had no time to prepare a speech … so he used AI to write the speech for him. Ha ha ha ha. He described the information he fed into the ChatGPT … and read the speech he received. Yes, it was humorously awful. Generic sounding meaningless secular drivel.
Yes, it was humorous … but then … I believe everyone realized just how awful it was that the Best Man was auditioning for some Hollywood Execs in attendance. That he made the Best Man speech all about him. That AI sucks and is literally inhuman … at one of the MOST human of sacraments. The humor soon wore off … and it became just painful
Obviously, the groom picked the wrong friend. Wonder if the bride is thinking she picked the wrong groom?
A test…
What’s dangerous & always has been, is the media.
One look at the last 3 yrs…??
Shit wont be real unless you yourself have witnessed it…other than that..? Digital Bullsheet
Concern (?) – Not a story (“last month”) noticed by many……..
“A 30-ton shipment of explosive chemicals traveling from Wyoming to California by rail disappeared en route, officials say”
“A railcar loaded with 60,000 pounds of ammonium nitrate from explosives company Dyno Nobel left Cheyenne, Wyoming, on April 12, heading to California, according to KQED, which cited an incident report from the company. But two weeks after leaving Cheyenne, the railcar arrived at a rail stop in the Mojave Desert where it was found to be empty, per the report.”
