When The FBI Does It, That Means That It’s Not Illegal

The Durham Report is out, cataloguing everything we already knew.

In a long-awaited report released Monday, special counsel John Durham slammed the FBI for actions agents took during the 2016 probe scrutinizing then-presidential candidate Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and it alleged ties to Russia.

Durham’s final report examining the origins of the Russia investigation brings to a close a four-year probe that failed to produce any major convictions despite the expectations pushed by Trump and his allies […]

“In short, it is the Office’s assessment that the FBI discounted or willfully ignored material information that did not support the narrative of a collusive relationship between Trump and Russia,” the report says. “An objective and honest assessment of these strands of information should have caused the FBI to question not only the predication for Crossfire Hurricane, but also to reflect on whether the FBI was being manipulated for political or other purposes. Unfortunately, it did not.”

While Durham does not appear to say outright that the FBI’s Russia investigation should not have been launched, he strongly suggests that is the case — while using sharp language to admonish former FBI leadership and agents and describing his findings as “sobering.”

  1. “An objective and honest assessment of these strands of information should have caused the FBI to question not only the predication for Crossfire Hurricane, but also to reflect on whether the FBI was being manipulated for political or other purposes.”

Kind of hard to be manipulated when it’s your operation.

  2. It is apparently legal in the U.S. to manipulate elections, domestic or foreign. Hence no new indictments.

The Durham report does have some potential utility – it does confirm and document that the FBI is hopelessly politicized. In the unlikely event that there will be a future administration with gonads it can use the document as a justification to make major changes. A long shot!

  3. If this stuff upsets you, wait until you find out what Russia does with Christianity.

    1. … well I do admire what Russia’s done with the LGBTQqAI+/-
      That’s a start.

  4. This report is just the deep state protecting its self and giving its self a pass so that when needed it can do the same kind of thing again.

  5. *Golf Clap* Yea John!!!!
“strongly suggests” and “sharp language”. Yeah, that’ll bring them to their knees.

  6. This is more pathetic than ABs transparently bullshlt response to their promotion of mulvaney et al.

  7. Burn the house down to kill a rat.. Good Job FBI.. Its not like a wall with a big door in it and 4 more years of economic growth would have been the end of the world.. He could have done his 8 cleanly and we would have been done with him.. None of it was worth it.. Trump or the measures to bring him down..

    1. They destroyed the lives and jailed men like Manafort, Papadopoulos, Page, Stone etc., without blinking. They’ve made the lives of 340 million Americans eminently worse not to mention Ukrainians all for spite. You’re right, 2024 he would be gone and that would be that, instead things are going to be much much worse.

  8. So we’re going to just pretend Obama and Biden were ‘misled’ by the agencies and weren’t in charge of the entire operation? They gave the direction orders in early January 2016. They’ll deny it, but they knew the intelligence was garbage and ordered spying on a political opponent. Knowing this, why would you ever believe they couldn’t possibly rig a presidential election?

  9. I’ve not read the Report … but I’m just curious … did Durham lay the Lions share of blame on a corrupt FISA court that was used as the lynchpin mechanism to get this whole FRAUD started? Thus giving it the taint of legitimacy? Has The Durham Report called for the elimination of The FISA Court?
