Canadian troops in Poland are having to buy their own food but aren’t being reimbursed, causing hardships for their families back home.
The Canadian soldiers are in Poland to train Ukrainian military personnel but since Canada did not send military cooks on the mission, the troops were told to eat at local restaurants.
But there is a massive backlog with the Canadian Forces reimbursing the soldiers for those costs, sending some of them thousands of dollars into debt. Their families contacted this newspaper to complain about the situation they say is causing financial stress at home.
That corrupt POS Anand must resign. She can find $$ for missile systems for the Ukes that our DND has been waiting decades for, but she won’t buy a sandwich for our troops. I thought Harjit was brutal but this diversity hire brown chick is an absolute joke.

At one time battalions had a couple hundred extra troops and looked after their own logistics. Your own colonel damn well made sure his own troops were fed. Anyone else could give a shit. What’s with reimbursement? Just advance them a per diem adequate for three very good meals a day and to hell with receipts. -unable to provide the proper camo for the assignments that they’ve been given,
-been unable to provide transportation to those assignments,
-have tried to replace our vintage, 1960’s era F-18’s with others of the same age,
-cannot provide enough on-base housing for all of it’s members,
-cannot afford to pay for therapy and rehab that they contractually agreed to provide,
-cannot provide working sidearms,
-cannot provide working rifles,
-have offered assisted suicide to veterans with PTSD instead of actual help,
-given better quality equipment to Ukraine than what our own troops are forced to work with,
-have instituted an ideological witch hunt among the entire service,
-now can’t afford to even feed those out on assignment,

NATO standardized training. We’ve been training their troops for a while now under operation unifier. I’m not sure how much combined arms training they have received, but they will need it.
One thing that has come out of this, their troops are training ours with the experience that they have.

I have never heard of anyone in the Global Affairs diplomatic corps ever missing a paycheck while on foreign service allowance. Come to think of it, never heard of an Airforce crew ever missing a hotel room or a meal when chauffeuring Prime Minister Black Face Little Potato around the world. Question remains. The government excuses are contemptible. This is clearly deliberate. It doesn’t take “additional administrative staff” over 3 months to issue vouchers for 100 soldiers. That’s a job for one corporal working for an afternoon – or it should be if you ever want to actually deploy your army anywhere.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars to ensure the G-G gets fed on her non-important functionary trips, but not a buck for actual soldiers.

Why aren’t the Ukes feeding them? I’ve trained with French Brits and Americans, and was always fed by the hosts.
Rusty – they’re in Poland, not Ukraine, even if they’re training Ukrainian troops. So their situation is not precisely parallel to yours. However, at the end of the day, it is the Canadian government’s responsibility to ensure they are fed and watered in the absence of any other arrangements. Can you imagine our PM or any other member of his government setting off anywhere without being in firm possession of the federal credit card or similar arrangements? Not for them the problem of spending one’s own money on a government trip and then trying to get reimbursed.
