      1. Au contraire! I am a woman and have had to point out to at least 2 drivers in the past 2 years in Regina that very situation. One was a woman, one was a man.
My sister and I think we are in the end times because of the level of stupidity prevalent in the general society and in our political classes.

  1. I watched a woman tear off a pump nozzle like that at a station in eastern Alberta. She drove through the lot and back onto the highway like nothing had happened.

    1. From Gas Hose to Panty Hose: Toward a Philosophy of Trans Garment Ware.

      My personal pronoun is Corsett.

    1. It never actually occurred to me that that was a ‘thing’; but I guess I’ve been giving ‘average’ people too much credit.

  2. She was so mad at him for mansplaining that you have to take the nozzle out before you drive away. Hateful!

    1. Remember ladies: always take your nozzle out before you drive away.

      Oh, and nice beaver!

  3. Pro tip: Check your sideview mirrors for the all clear before pulling away. I once worked for a company that not only made liquid products but loaded them on to railcars as well, it didn’t happen often but I remember a few times R/C’s being shunted with hard piped loading arms still attached. Ooooof! Makes a cool sound though.
And just like that the flex hose was born.

  4. That’s what happens when you’re filling your tank and you get distracted because you have to berate/karenate another driver for using his cellphone while refueling.

  5. Your gas gauge has that little arrow that indicates which side of the car your gas tank is located … perhaps the Federal Govt. needs to mandate an ALARM sensor if you turn the key and the gas door is still open. After all … everyone needs more safety! The Govt. can save us all. Right?

Or is this just one more example of how ICE autos are soooooo unsafe that they ALL must be banned? Save us husband-Govt. … save us! … and all our cats too!

  6. Saw this happen at a Mohawk gas station in Calgary. Young girl takes off , rips the hose off the pump, hose recoils and smashes out her hatchback rear window. True story not April fools fun.

  7. I think this is the real reason they tell people not to use their cell phones when pumping gas.

The idiots are so wrapped up in their phones, they don’t even realize they have not pulled the gas nozzle out. Imagine the chaos from drive offs if they didn’t have pay at the pump?

  8. Its not as bad as dump truck drivers – all dudes pretty much – leaving their box up and hitting a bridge.
One day she’ll probably get run over crossing the street while looking at her phone.

    1. “… crossing the street while looking at her phone.”

While walking her dog and wearing headphones.

  9. I liked the one a while back where the lady was trying to find where to put the hose in her electric car.

    1. And lemon-yellow paint in every cave kitchen, Thomas.

The Lascaux cave paintings? Those were recipes.

  10. Back in the day, when attendants actually pumped gas and cleaned windshields, there was a gas station on Highway 3 in BC which had all-women attendants. They were good; did their job and could check oil etc as required.
