You’re right!! The practice of spreading nitrogen on the soil was abandoned here in Western Canada many years ago. Most went up into the air!! Here in the west, we directly inject into the fertilizers into the soil where it goes to work right away. A practice that should get us carbon credits. Time for an election!!

I understand that Westerners are upset at the Trudeau proposed plan to subsidize Eastern Canada Farmers who rely on imported fertilizer from Russia. I believe the fertilizers in question are mostly nitrogen that is spread on the soil, where it can escape into the atmosphere.
Here in Saskatchewan, most fertilizers are directly injected into the land with the seed. I’m guessing Alberta and Manitoba utilizes the same method on large acreage farms. Thus, little is lost to the atmosphere. I don’t think that Western provinces separating from Canada will ever happen, nor would that solve any of our problems. We need to work at sending Pierre Poilivre and the CPC to Ottawa. We need to get rid of the Liberals, and the yellow socc-hed’s NDP followers.
