Stolen land?

The Canadian host of the Daily Objective and America lawyer James Valliant weigh in on the subjects of indigenous rights, property rights, genocide, reparations and touch on today’s nearly obligatory nods to land acknowledgements at every public event. Warning: no political correctness to be found here.

Valliant has this to say about the history of indigenous culture:

“The three most important words in history are: compared to what?

“Whatever the imperfections of the British legal system, native Americans were not on their way to discovering Lockean property rights, nor were they on their way to the discovery of classical liberalism, much less be at the dawn of an industrial revolution…when the British came, they were bringing an objectively better system that benefitted everyone more than the system that existed before.”

20 Replies to “Stolen land?”

  1. The Term “First Nations” is another FILTHY LIBERAL Cultural Marxist term.

More like, the “Last Nation” that ended up winning their battles. Whether it be the Wendats, Algonquins, Mohawks etc, they all fought other Indian Tribes for control of “their” turf. Why aren’t these “Last Nations” trespassing on Stolen Land from the inferior Tribe they “stole” it from?

Cultural Marxism means Pretending not to know things. FILTHY LIBERALS are experts at this.

    1. Stolen land?

Anyone who believes ‘stolen’ land should go back to the lands where they came from. Oh, drat, they can’t, the entire planet has been stolen from one group or another.

    2. “The Term “First Nations” is another FILTHY LIBERAL Cultural Marxist term.”

A term that never crossed my lips. I refer to them as natives, always.

(because they were neither first, nor nations)

  2. The book “1491 New Revelations of the Americas before Columbus” by Charles C Mann is worth a read.

Covers a lot of North American, Central American, and South American history before Columbus.

Things were not as peaceful as many of woke brigade would have us believe.

More interestingly, the people before Columbus et al, made major modifications to the environment. There was much more shaping/altering the ‘natural’ environment than people suppose.

  3. My favourite is the myth First Nations were so environmentally friendly they used all of the Buffalo without waist.

Lightbulbs in heads exploded last time someone said that to me(was at least 25 years ago). I speculated that maybe naked men without shoes finally killed/lucked out on a dying bison and were half starving themselves would likely use as much as they could….. it was all they had. Like let’s X calories and bones for tools walk to protect the environment while we starve…..

But the myth First Nations were environmentally conscious still exists.

    1. Environmentally conscious..”Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump.
I have been waiting for the stupid to finish digging..For, If British rules no longer apply, then we revert to the rules as we found this land..
And the natives lost, because we are superior killers.
Not as individuals perhaps, but as a collective nothing stands before us..

      The original rules?
      Me wants? Me takes!
      Best killer gang wins.
Which is why the Dene got driven so far north that they almost became Eskimos.

Wealth, consisted of what you could hold, defend or carry..
Why do you think our “We were here first peoples ” never complain too loudly about the Canadian Apartheid System?
Possibly because the alternative was so much worse and very final.
Sooner than later,we are going to decide, which rules apply.?

  4. It is no longer their land if it ever was in the 1st place.
Like I told the young native 20 years ago.
He said all the land belong to Indians.
My question what are you going to do with the 36M White People On Your Land.
Push it too far and they will get wiped out in a Civil War.
    Think that is not possible.
    HA HA HA

  5. As a friend of mine used to say, “if it weren’t for the white man, the Indians would still be running around in loin cloth.”

    1. reading a twitter post by someone down there, he said basically SA is gone. It will implode soon…

  6. I like what one poster said elsewhere regarding the natives, and if I may paraphrase:

Ok then, say they, the natives/first nations folk were here like 10,000 years prior to white man, how come they didn’t get around to inventing a wheel or have a written language…?

    That about sums it up.

    1. Read somewhere that in 40,000 years of existence all the Australian Aborigines invented was the stick.

  7. Most of the disparate, scattered, native Stone Age tribes were hostile and brutally violent. They murdered white women and children with impunity … usually after raping all the women and girls. It was kill or be killed. We killed more of them than us. We won. Game over.

All the revisionist history ever fabricated won’t change those FACTS. END. FINI.

    1. The day you die everything that was yours, it no longer is. The day that you cannot keep and protect that which you call yours, it no longer is.
It has been this way since man has existed.

      1. Truth … as that which you wrote … is immutable. No matter how many “Truth and Reconciliation” farces get erected.

  8. It’s impossible to “steal” land from a nomadic culture. They were just passing through, following the buffalo and caribou herds, stopping occasionally to catch a fish or skin a birch to build a canoe. They went to war with rival nomadic tribes and even enslaved those they defeated on the battlefield. The European settlers had already domesticated animals and developed farming, thus allowing them to live year round in one spot. And what the @#$% does land acknowledgments got to do with a professional hockey game? Enough already! Anyone who runs their mouth to me about living on stolen land instantly is met with a “so when did you sign over the title of your house to the native living nearest to you?”.

  9. This has more to do with commies than Indians. The Indians are merely a pretext and a patsy.
You see, if the land is “stolen”, they can take it back (they being the commies in federal, provincial and municipal gov’t), and give it back to its “rightful” owners, which will be Indian patsies, or at least “self-identify” as such, with strings attached.

  10. Wanna talk about North American genocide? OK, let’s start with the Iroquoi Confederacy and the large number of Nations they wiped out before Europeans showed up. The history of New France is a laundry list of native Nations the French allied with to beat back the Iroquoi. The Iroquoi eventually allied with the Brits and the rest is history. The “First Nations” can blame -in part – the genocidal Iroquoi confederacy for today’s situation.
