Neil Oliver talks about how governments don’t value human beings anymore.

What is amazing to me is that anyone ever thought that they did.
Anymore?
Misanthropes. They’re just not into us.
Fair enough. I ain’t into them, either.
Government is supposedly serving their constituents. It’s high time to go back to this role. A minimum 50% cut at all
levels (in year 1) would be a decent start!
They never cared.. They just needed our support to fight communism.. Because of that life was good.. The moment the USSR went down they didn’t need us anymore.. The entire apparatus that was used to fight the USSR turned around and looked at us..
All they needed to do was cook up another evil empire to keep the lights on, us..
Like all things political.. The activists work is never done.. Into the weeds with LARPing.. Live action role playing.. Reenactors keeping the faith alive.. A make work nightmare that obviously ends in tyranny because of how absurd it all is.. The censorship phase :)..
Well maybe the useless eaters like this pos need to be wiped out.
They seem to be the problem. I will keep enjoying pork beef chicken and fish.
Looks like the biggest difference between the WEF and the Canadian right is just an argument over who they want to call the useless eaters.
For decades I’ve looked in vain for that famous “social contract”.
A comment by a long ago SDA commenter maz2 was my introduction to Our Enemy, the State by Albert Jay Nock. Though a life long libertarian at the time I thought that maybe Nock went a bit too far. NOT.
One “social contract” that existed for hundreds of years, and was began to be violated in the late 20th century is:
“We will pay taxes, and if necessary fight, in return for protection from foreign invasion.”
The minute that was violated, the state, the Monarchy, etc, lost its legitimacy.
Just because you can’t find it codified in some writ doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

maz2 was the best. Bless you for keeping the spirit of maz2 alive. There were a few other regulars back then that made it the golden age of SDA. Wish I could remember their handles. They’ve either gone on to their eternal reward, or to better pastures.
Speaking of ‘useless eaters’, here is the next PPC election ad.
Governments never valued people unless as a financial means to an end.
That is why civil uprisings were necessary – to keep the greedy government from killing people if they didn’t pay up.
A civil uprising has to be successful in order to work, and even then, its far from guaranteed:
The Whisky Rebellion is a case in point.
Even the US gov’t was violating its own Bill of Rights before the ink on it was even dry.
Yet we have the Magna Carta, the US exists and the Romanians found something to do on Christmas Day.
Magna Carta and the Constitution are both violated by their respective governments on a wholesale basis.
Under Magna Carta, the use of the roads is a right, not a privilege to be revoked on a whim.
When a document exists to protect individual rights and freedoms, it is INVARIABLY treated as an obstacle by the very government whose job it is to implement it, that is if they don’t just ignore it altogether, as was the case with the Whiskey Rebellion, as is currently the case with the ATF, DOEs, EPA, etc.
Yet it still is the guiding basis for law in Western Civilisation.
If they didn’t control every aspect of our lives it wouldn’t matter if they cared about us or not. If they leave me alone I won’t even ask them to care.
I’m from the government, and I’m here to help
And other tales told by the Evil One.
There’s a scene in the Matrix where the guy is eating a steak and drinking red wine. He knows it’s not real but he doesn’t care. Some days that’s me.
Anymore? Government is the greatest evil ever created by man. The sooner you face that truth and set down any and ALL support for the idea of government, the sooner your intentions will align with solutions, not perpetuation of the same problems.
Government and its laws were created to protect those weaker among us from the wolves.
Unfortunately it became a tool that the wolves now use to fleece the sheep.
There is this thing called civil society where natural rights are protected by government, which exists explicitly for that purpose.
That’s how Canada and the US were set up, governing the least to govern the best with limited, good government
But that all went away when progressives ditched J.S. Mill for J.J. Rousseau.
The progressive state confers rights, the antithesis of true liberalism (not the crap term the left hides behind and conservatives fall for), so their philosophy is essentially collectivist, them the neo Gods handing out social credit scores. It’s not an ideology, it’s a pathology; and it’s destroying civil society to replace it with corrupt collectivism where crises are invented to cover induced shared misery.
Not them. Us.
Every progressive (or whatever they are called) thinks this way. “Too many people in the world” is their mantra although not one considers himself one of the excessive eaters, polluters or excreters.
Modern progressivism has never cared for, so never valued human beings, aka the individual. Elites and serfs is the inevitable end.
Individuals are in the way of the post modern progressive state, where less than impressive people reimagine the past and present.
Before, they were just forced to listen to us and pretend to care because of the power of our vote. Now they just pretend to pretend.
So progressively they’ve given themselves more power, moving swiftly to the point where the consent of the governed is meaningless.
If their debts cripples us, so what? If it cripples them, then they cripple us, by monetizing statist debt to avoid higher interest rates.
Them, not us. We’ll be fully exposed to inflation and higher mortgages, them safe with Central bank backing. Cue up Venezuela.
Think of how they never let a good crisis go to waste, especially if it means covering up their incompetence and mendacity. Cue covid.
By different vectors Canada and the US have arrived or are headed there, while Europe implodes on its collectivist contradictions.
As progressives do what they do best, shove us into war. They’re a lethal cancer on virtually every major political party at this time.
What is amazing to me is that anyone ever thought that they did.

I’d much rather listen to this little girl than that tool George Monbiot.
