Ban All The Things!

WSJ Editorial Board (via Instapundit);

When progressives can’t pass their agenda through the front door in Congress, they sneak it through a regulatory back window. That’s what the Biden Administration is doing with gas stoves, as the Energy Department this week proposed new rules that amount to a gradual de facto ban.

A Biden appointee on the Consumer Product Safety Commission ignited a firestorm last month by threatening to ban gas stoves. After criticism from West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin and others, the CPSC chairman rejected the idea, and White House officials said they didn’t support banning gas stoves.

Then why has the Energy Department proposed new efficiency standards that would ban the sale of most gas stoves currently on the market?

Well, they were lying. That’s why.

  1. At the least, all regulatory agencies should be turned into advisory agencies. Compliance to their rules shouldn’t be the law. It should be voluntary and it should be up to the consumer to choose a product based upon its merits. If the consumer thinks that it is good for a product to meet some advisory group rules, that’s their choice.

    1. And yet, like Blackie, there are still assholes who support & would vote for him! What would it take to convince them otherwise?

  3. So when will the 100 million chefs around the globe rise up with kitchen butcher knives, forks and torchlights to defend the superlative heat control found with gas stoves?

    Oh I forgot the government wants us to eat bugs on crap electric stoves! 🙂

    Government excellence is found in MONUMENTAL LYING…we should stop the excess gas coming from their gaping mouths; full stop.

    1. Hans, I’m wondering if the PTB think we should be thankful that at least we can cook our bugs on an electric cooktop!

      Of course once they’ve completed their agenda, there won’t be any electricity to spare, so we’ll be eating em raw!
